Hi i'm a old player of D&D forgotten realms. Recently i read again my old manual Faiths and Pantheon version 3.0 and i have one question about Lord Ao:

When Faiths and Pantheon at p. 4 says: "Ao did not want to be known, for cults once dedicated to him only a decade ago began to die out, and Ao's name disappeared from written records".

That means the Ao's name materially dissapears from written recors or that means simply the people don't write anymore about him?

The second, I think, but having the first happen while the PCs are reading a diary or history book would be interesting - it would be a great big clue to me that Something Important is going on.

Plus: the look on their face...

In relationship with what Ao is i find also more sense in the second interpretation but i think this point is not real clear about what really means.

For this reason i ask if sombody know what really that means?
