| #1gomeztooAug 04, 2010 2:25:45 | New fiction by Ed Greenwood: Lord of the Darkways, which starts in 1334 DR (Year of the Blazing Brand), shortly after Manshoon became First lord of Zhentil Keep. |
| #2IluvrienAug 04, 2010 14:55:00 | All hail the new fiction by Ed! And in Dragon no less! The magazine has taken a real upturn for me this month. I shall, of course, be back to talk about it at length once I have actually read it. ![]() |
| #3gomeztooAug 05, 2010 1:31:19 | A bit confusing is: www.wizards.com/dnd/article.aspx?x=dnd/d... in which you fight Elminster. This is a scenario that presumes certain rather drastical events.. of which I am unsure if they actually come to happen (in the novel, that is)... |
| #4CaolinAug 05, 2010 3:07:35 | New fiction by Ed Greenwood: This was an amazing story and has made me miss classic FR even more. I wish WoTC would adopt an open timeline for their FR novels. That way we can get stories from any time period. How amazing would that be? |
| #5The_SilverswordAug 05, 2010 3:15:59 | New fiction by Ed Greenwood: INterestig story. Im intruiged by Manshoons promise. Did he make a deal with Mystra to save his life? What is/was Mystra's interest in Manshoon? Was it simply because he had a gift with the Art? Mystra truely works in Mysterious ways. |
| #6The_SilverswordAug 05, 2010 3:20:21 | A bit confusing is: Not sure I like Elminster being the villan, but still we now have offical 4e stats for Elminster, yea!!! I kinda thought he would be more like 30th level but this isnt El in his prime, this is crazy insane Spellplague Elminster so I guess it works out. Sounds interesting, but I feel reall bad for El if this is following events in the book. So now its up to the PCs to round up the 7 ghosts of Cormyr and feed them to Elminster!? |
| #7The_SilverswordAug 05, 2010 3:21:52 | This was an amazing story and has made me miss classic FR even more. I wish WoTC would adopt an open timeline for their FR novels. That way we can get stories from any time period. How amazing would that be? That would be cool, Id love to see novels focusing on the past, a trilogy on the Crown Wars? Id pay to see that! |
| #8JorunhastAug 05, 2010 3:43:00 | A bit confusing is: Bleh. More evidence that 4E Realms is a corpse, and the vultures are just stripping meat from its bones. How can I enjoy stories of old Faerun, like Lord of the Darkways, with things like this in its future? Can't. Frankly, it even makes me want to avoid Elminster must die! Sorry, Ed. ![]() |
| #9The_SilverswordAug 05, 2010 3:55:23 | A bit confusing is: Well I wouldnt call it evidence of anything, let alone the Realms being a corpse. Any way its up to the PCs in the scenario, they could possibly off El, or possibly subdue him and restore him to sanity, in which case it wouldnt be such a bad ending. And any way Im not even sure if anything like that even goes down in the novel. Id at least give it a chance before you decide you dont like it. And Im referring to the novel, Ive already pieced together that you dont like 4e Realms. ![]() |
| #10CaolinAug 05, 2010 13:04:15 | A bit confusing is: I weep for you my friend. Whatever your feelings are about the timeline jump, it is still the Realms, it is still Greenwood and it is a great read. Open your mind to the fact that good stories can still be told and you won't have to morn for the Realms. |
| #1118DELTAAug 05, 2010 20:37:52 | Is this story DDI only?![]() My life is alot better and happier after I quit caring what WotC does or doesn't do to or with the Realms. ![]() |
| #12CaolinAug 05, 2010 21:21:15 | Is this story DDI only? Yeah, it's part of the latest Dragon Magazine. ![]() |
| #13The_SilverswordAug 05, 2010 23:08:34 | Is this story DDI only? Once you stop caring, "theyve" already won! |
| #14The_SilverswordAug 05, 2010 23:10:19 | Is this story DDI only? Why the sad face? Youre a insider member so Id say were getting our moneys worth! This is cause for celebration if you ask me! ![]() |
| #15CaolinAug 06, 2010 17:46:02 | Is this story DDI only? I was being sad for 18Delta. Showing some empathy because it's a really good short story. |
