Logical estimates suggest that the Citadel of the Raven [1276] was constructed
in this period. Some scholars purport that the citadel is irrefutable evidence
that a grand human nation existed on Faerûn long before recorded history.
Sages have further theorized that the barbarians of The Ride are the descendants
of that once-great civilization. The Citadel of the Raven is a series of
interconnected fortresses carved high on the northern slopes of the Dragonspine
Mountains north of Teshwave. For many years, human and half-orc
bandits used the citadel as a refuge, but civilization wiped these marauders
out as it advanced north.

Has there ever been any information released about this forgotten nation?

Jun 01, 2013 9:57:50 Not to my knowledge in sourcebooks, but I know next to nothing about Realms novels so take that with a grain of salt perhaps.

Jun 02, 2013 12:48:46 Really the Moonseas is probably one of the least detailed areas in the realms when it comes to history. We know very few things about ancient Thar (though it could have been an ogre magi kingdom or even a kingdom of those awesome Kara-Tur ogre mage-look alikes, and it is suggested that the ogres had mythal-level ward spells), and we know Ironfang keep and the citadel of the raven are mysterious. Only place we have some concrete information about is Northkeep.

Well its not restricted to the Moonsea.

Basically it hints that there was a great human empire on Faerun long before the founding time. This nation pre-dates every other human nation.... it would basically be the 'Atlantis' of Forgotten Realms.

Starting to think only Ed can answer this one lol

As far as i remember:
The netheril boxed set introduced some time portals
The book describing the pirates of the sea of fallen stars introduced a time portal
The boxed set describing the north had a temple beyond time in the high forest
