Hi,

I am trying to find any information on Lantan, does anyone know which books actually contain useful information about this region. Preferably 3rd ed but I am willing to look at 2nd ed for background stuff.

Cheers

There's very little known about Lantan (and they said FR is overdetailed :rolleyes. You'll get the most info in the FRCSs in 1e or 2e. There's some info in the FRCS 3e, as well as Wizards & Rogues Of The Realms and Warriors & Priests Of The Realms. And some stray scraps in various places. Also search out the WotC website for some old 3.0 info about portals.

Once bored and curious, I compiled every piece of canon lore that exists about Lantan. If anyone wants it, I can email it, or even post it here in 2 posts (might not be legal though, ahem).

Other than the FRCS, I don't think so as far as 3e regional books are concerned. Nor any novels if IIRC. A shame really.

3e had the best map as I recall, though the information was a bit skimpy... though Faiths and Avatars had a little bit on it as well as I recall, though it was indeed a scrap. I seem to recall Demi-Humans of the Realms having a meager scrap as well, as did possibly Prayers from the Faithful... I think. But I don't think it amounted to more than a few paragraphs from all of them, combined, so I'm not sure it would be worth the trouble tracking it all down.

-Lantan has lots of little 'scraps', like Stigger said. The sources that have the most information about it in one place (mind you, this is not everything, just the most) would be the FRCS and DUNGEON 64.
