A question:

I need to amass as much canon background information I can about Luthcheq. Obviously Maiden of Pain is the book to read, as are the few random pages that appear under Chessenta's entry in the campaign setting. But what other books would be useful? I'm looking for novels that are set in Luthcheq and/or sourcebooks that contain information about its culture, history, political structure, etc.

Old Empires is the best, as are pieces in Magic Of Faerun and Lords Of Darkness for the Karanoks. Maiden Of Pain is the only novel about the place.

You can find my write-up on Luthcheq here, in my guide to Chessenta for my players. I left some details out, and added others of my own devising though.

I'm guessing you're a post-Spellplague person though. IIRC, Luthcheq is almost completely different there, so maybe it's not a lot of help.

Gee, have fun. That one was just plain awful (and, as someone who's read over 150 of the FR novels, I have quite the gamut). Read it for the descriptions, not the "plot" (and I use that loosely here).

To my knowledge, MoP is the only novel that focuses on Luthcheq (or even Chessenta for that matter). You're better off going for sourcebooks.

Actually I'm focusing on 3.5e, though I also want information from 4e (because what happens in the future gives you indications on what happened in the past).

Thanks for the info! If anyone else has any to add that would be great.

Wow, though, that write-up is fantastic
