May 08, 2008 3:22:27 Perhaps this is a little late to question but I was looking at the lycanthropes in the Lost Empires of Faerun book and I noticed what I can only hope to be a HUGE error in the form of a ton of typos, it's bad enough that even the most powerful of the lycans in that book were weak.

The werecat was pathetic as far as I could tell any real werecat that wasn't a finesse type combatant would be better of just being a normal human, as far as I could tell in their hybrid form (the one generally thought to be most well suited for combat) they recieved a -4 to str and only a +6 to dex and +2 to con (the con didn't seem to actually apply to HP either which is kinda weird) other than that their claws were 1d4-1 and what do they get from all of that?

A +3 LA....I'm sorry but the ability to turn into a cat or a lackluster hybrid form surely are not worth 3 HD and whatever abilities that go with it, frankly those bonuses aren't even worth a +1 LA in my opinion.

Even using a finesse build you are not very dangerous in this form please tell me there is an errata to this.

May 09, 2008 2:54:08 I know about that and I was looking for more than one premade werecat (panthers lions cheetahs etc) I suppose I'll just take those rules and use them in conjunction with the BESM d20 system to make a proper build.

There is a powerful WereTiger with stats in the Silvermarches accessory book for 3ED.

May 19, 2008 5:11:34 The "werecat" is using a small wildcat like a lynx as its animal form, not a great cat like a leopard or lion. That's why its combat stats aren't particularly impressive.

It *can* still be effective, but you pretty much need to take the Rogue or Swordsage route in order to make it so.
