I wanted to make the players work in a big plan, where they find a cult working on the release of Memnon. I playing with many ideas, maybe let them work at first for Pasha. Who will betray them later on, with the idea that he will ally himself with Memnon to get rich and more powerfull. Or with the idea that they will need a powerfull artifact to reduce the strenght of Memnon. I dont have a clue atm what is 'normal' for Memnon. He is a powerfull Villian so should he be Epic (20+)? |

If you look at Szass Tam in 4e, he is sitting at CR 30, so a Gensai with slightly less comparable power should be up there. To follow the line of questioning I think Mr. Miss was getting at, you could actually have him released at a much lower level than he actually is. He could easily be weakened from his imprisonment. Depending on your criteria, you can use any CR simply to make it fit the current situation-you know, certain conditions must be met for him to regain his strength and such. Your group could either willingly or unwittingly contribute to that. |
