I'm creating an adventure story set in Cormyr during the sundering where one of the characters, an eladrin Mage and fortune teller, has developed a case of what we might call OCD--Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She ends up being a D&D version of Andrian Monk, so to speak, always cleaning up stuff, organizing things into order, wearing gloves to keep her hands clean, and many other quirks to keep that psychic itch she can't scratch from overwhemling her.
That got me wondering. Has anyone--Ed of Greenwood or someone else--ever made an article or talked about the Forgotten Realms versions of mental illnesses and how they play out in the game. I'm curious on how conditions like OCD, Depression, Shizophrenia, Autism Spectrum, and the others play out in a fantasy setting.
It could be for a quite informative and sometimes elightening discussion, or at least I hope so. |

This says to me that they view such Illnesses in similar fashion as we do currently. Especially if it can't be cured by herb or magic. |
