| #1sallaDec 06, 2009 3:05:44 | Where on the main FR continent would one find what is considered an elite, or simply 'the best', military academy or military service? |
| #218DELTADec 06, 2009 3:06:46 | 3E or 4E? |
| #3sallaDec 06, 2009 3:07:42 | 3E or 4E? 4E, post-Spellplague. |
| #418DELTADec 06, 2009 3:15:17 | Ok, I would say Tethyr. Run by followers of Red Knight. |
| #5sallaDec 06, 2009 3:16:19 |
I'm playing in the game, not running it, so I have no authority to violate canon in this instance. ![]() |
| #618DELTADec 06, 2009 3:20:48 | So you want this info for background?![]() |
| #7sallaDec 06, 2009 3:22:46 | So you want this info for background? Basically, yes. Not necessarily the mechanical backgrounds, but just fleshing out his past and all that good stuff. |
| #818DELTADec 06, 2009 3:27:31 | Where will this game be at in the Realms? Have you already been playing, or is this game just starting? |
| #9sfdragonDec 06, 2009 4:14:03 | 4e post plague....military acadamy, you mean like joing the watch or Guard military, or do you mean martial acadamy, like fighter, ranger etc training? well other than Delta's reply, cant think of to many others, and as for your canon comment, there is no canon on that iirc, but could be wrong, the only places to be covered of note in the DDI , was the Cormyr backdrop, the backdrop in the return abier city, which one cant think of at the momment, and the past 3 part airspur articles. as Delta stated drop one in..... anyway Calimport... and you can add just about any Merc company to the list, and if your planning a paladin then a temple of said deity .... |
| #10Matt_JamesDec 06, 2009 9:17:04 | The region has not been detailed yet (I'm trying to snatch it up!) but Tymanther most certainly would have military academies. As well, Cormyr would have several in 1480 DR. |
| #11StiggerDec 06, 2009 10:33:39 | Red Knights "big" temple was near Baldur's Gate, not in Tethyr... The Citadel of Strategic Militancy. That would presumably be the best military academy around, though you could probably call any of her temples military academies in at least some respects. |
| #1218DELTADec 06, 2009 18:17:27 | Well I was close!![]() :-p |
| #13sallaDec 06, 2009 21:30:22 | Red Knights "big" temple was near Baldur's Gate, not in Tethyr... The Citadel of Strategic Militancy. That would presumably be the best military academy around, though you could probably call any of her temples military academies in at least some respects. That sounds like what I was looking for. Thanks. To answer earlier questions, the game is already going; last I can recall, the PCs were in the Gray Vale area, but I figure I can come up with a reason for my guy to be wandering around just about anywhere, with a little effort. |
| #1418DELTADec 06, 2009 22:00:51 | Glad we could help.![]() |
| #15StiggerDec 07, 2009 6:51:43 | Sure thing Slappy. |
| #16dannoeDec 19, 2009 7:45:56 | I'd say Suzail, capital of Cormyr. Isn't that where the Obarskyr's reign? Anyway, my second guess would be Myth Drannor with the Coronal's Guard. |
| #17lord_karsusDec 19, 2009 15:32:45 | I'd say Suzail, capital of Cormyr. Isn't that where the Obarskyr's reign? -Yes. Suzail is the capital of Cormyr, and the seat of Cormyr's crown. |
