So I am running a group in Ebberon, they took over a silver mine in Xen'drick and intend to run it. About how much wealth do you think something like that should turn out on a monthly basis? I looked in the dmg and handbook but couldn't find any rules to go along with mining so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

The group's average level is 10th if that matters.

I'd set up a table regarding how well the month's work had been, with a few oddities (monsters, labor issues, cave-ins, and whatnot). Probably 5 or 7 different grades of success, the best producing ore equivalent to a few thousand gold (maybe 2d4 x 500 Gp or something similar) and the worst only producing ore equivalent to a few hundred gold.

Whether you charge them extra expenses (transportation and protection on the way to market) is up to you; they could receive as little as one-half the value of the haul after selling the ore.

Have them make Proffession (Mining) checks and give wealth based on that. They'd need to run it efficiently, and get people to buy from them instead of other silver mines.

And just for the record, mechanics for things like mines and other sources of location dependant income get covered in the Stronghold Builder's Guidebook.

Of course, if they get smart, they can really pimp out that mine.
Stone to Mud, for example, will only turn actual stone into mud. Doesn't affect metal. So, Stone to Mud as much as you can, then Purify Food and Drink on the muddy water to turn it into pure water, and then toss some dust of dryness on it. No fuss, no muss, not even any refining. Just go pick your raw chunks of silver up off the floor.

I half-expected this to be a joke thread, and the original post to read, "HOW U MINE 4 FISH?"

And Edy... wow. you've given me inspiration for a new BBEG organization that captures and brainwashes Druids into chaining spells for mining purposes.

Its only a slight modification of something I read years ago on the boards, a thread titled something like "How to utterly defeat your foe", which was about not just winning a fight, but grinding them so far under your heal as to just be complete and utter overkill.

The winner (or at least my favorite) was "Cast Flesh to Stone on them, then Stone to Mud, Purify Food and Water on the mud to turn them into clean water, drink said water, and then pee on their grave with them."

Ouch. There are no words for that kind of Evil.
