Definitely looking forward to all of these. Especially the Epic Destiny one.

I'm also dying to get a glimpse of the Barbarian preview. There're some rumblings that it may be a Primal Striker rather than a Primal Defender (which is what I thought it'd be). Be interesting to see how that shapes out. That and I want to know if I can recreate Conan with the 4E Barbarian. ;)

I want to be the Mongoloid surfer archer dude who hangs out with him.

What's with the extra emphasis on the "R.", Brian?

I'm just being picky. They left out my middle initial in the magazine index. ;)

Ah, well, can't let them dump you in with the rest of the R-less Brian James, those rabbles. ;)

Does this mean the R is the source of your power, like a true name?

All we need now is a piece of his hair and some Marilith slime and he will be at our mercy...

Do we win a prize if we guess it correctly?

Reginald? Ruprecht?... no... wait...

...are you Rumplestiltskin?!

-Brian James doesn't have as good of a ring, it's true. It's because, that;s leaving out the fact that he's...."Rs". Get it? Rs, "ours".

-Yeah...

Auril's Hall... What's that supposed to be? Guess we'll see.

maybe it's Winter's Hall, Auril's planar realm, if it's that, can't wait

It'll likely be frosty.
Not so interested in swordmage, to be honest. I got swamped with swordmages at Gencon UK (especially genasi) - seeing two at a table was no exception.

What worries me:
Playing Gnolls
Sooo.... next month, gnolls will be a legal PC race in LFR.

Quale is absolutely correct. The article is mostly a geographical overview ala Manual of the Planes of Auril's divine realm within the Deep Wilds. Auril's palace, Winter Hall and several locations therein are described as well. Not an exhaustive examination but more than we've seen in the past.

And planar expert Gray Richardson was kind enough to review the article and provide fantastic suggestions. I cannot wait to see how it turns out.

That should be a very interesting article... Speaking about the devil, It's a long time since Gray was around here.

Any of these of the remotest use to people playing in the Realms? (Yeah, I mean the pre-Spellplague era)

Yes.

Next?

I am looking forward to all four of these. Hopefully things like the Class Acts and Ecology articles will work hand in paw with the soon to appear FRPG rather than just reshuffling the same information.

I did notice the recent references to there being an overabundance of Genasi Swordmages around games tables... purely a novelty or a sea-change?

It's great that finally we are getting some planar articles, and that Gray is involved, think it will be useful in any edition.

Winter's Hall was described in Planes of Chaos, unfortunately mostly as Loki's realm.

Since my article is primarily "fluff" and focuses on the geography of Auril's realm, I don't see why you couldn't use it in any edition of the game.

So is the article a treatise on the things going on within Auril's section of the Deep Wilds, or does it provide information on Auril's church, too?

Realmslore: Auril's Hall

Both sound great!

I wish Dragon would do detailed articles on the FR gods like they did with the Greyhawk gods. I would love to see one for Selune who never seems to get anything written about her.

It's more of a gazetteer describing key locations in Auril’s realm. Not much is provided on Auril's followers or clergy sorry to say. But I do like AskaniPsion’s suggestion for a series of god articles, which is where I would include such information.

And yes, a series of articles on the gods in Dragon would definitely be welcome.

Is there a way I can contact Dragon to let them know of my idea for the FR deity articles?

We’re aware.

Robert.

If it’s anything else, then Brian owes me $4,237.98 for my shirt line that went belly up.

Push it. Seriously. The lack of detail on the deities is a major complaint. We need a fix each month.

Please!??? :D
