Hello all,

I'm writing an adventure for tonight's game and a part of it has to do with the thieves guild of Baldur's Gate. But I was thinking, how boring to be called just "THE Thieves Guild". So, why not use the best resource of original ideas around, you guys. Any ideas of alternatives?

My ideas so far (neither of which I love or even like for that matter):

The Twin Blades TG (their mar is a pair of black daggers crossed at the blade)

The Nine Knives TG (in homage to their leader, Nine Fingers Keene, symbol is a circle of daggers pointing towards a center point)

Any other ideas? Thanks!

Don't the Shadowthieves have the top position in the underhanded business within Baldurs Gate? Not wise to cross them.

Baldur's Gate does indeed have it's own thieves' guild, also dealing with assassins, smugglers and fences, and ruthless in crushing rivals (and apparently connected with the Four Grand Dukes).

It never really received a name in the lore, though the text in Forgotten Realms Adventures seems to imply that is it simply called "the Guild". I like it, for it's "we don't need a name" quality.

Alternatively, I'd suggest:
The Gatekeepers
The Rusty Gate

(There doesn't appear to be a Shadow Thieves of Amn presence, though you can bet they trying. The Knights Of The Shield and the Iron Throne are also covering organised crime from the top-down "legitimate businessmen" angle.)

I could have sworn the Shadowthieves of Amn had their fingers in Baldur's Gate.

They do, but they're not the only thieves' guild there.

You're right. The Shadow Thieves do have a presence in Baldur's Gate. (I kept my Baldur's Gate and Sword Coast South notes in seperate documents, and forgot to search the SCS one. :embarrass )

The Shadow Thieves have at least a lesser base and a safe house in Baldur's Gate, under the command of Shade Orniiv “The Eclipse” Fandarfall (Shade being a title, not a Shadovar). Lords Of Darkness has the info.
