The PC's have been travelling all over faerun looking for a comrade who has been missing for three years now. So far the PC's have been on a scavenger hunt all over faerun finding letters from their comrade left that contain directions to where the next letter is (the missing comrade basically left a trail of bread crumbs), and this 'scavenger hunt' has led them to the Drow city of Sshamath. Before arriving in the city however, they've been captured by a drow patrol. Unknown to the PC's however, one of their drow captors is actually their comrade, however, he isn't letting on that he recognizes them for fear of being labelled a traitor by his drow comrades so he's playing along. . . . . . |

So the patrol tells them they will free them if they kill some other drow these drow have a particular dislike for. The patrol plans to kill them when they succeed, thus giving them a two-fer. However, the party's friend will warn the party, allowing escape, or will switch sides when the patrol attacks the party if he is to be revealed at this point. The party is taken to a temple for sacrifice, but their friend arranges it so they can escape. Just how easy it is to get out of cell/chains/temple and to recover their equipment can be used to hint that somebody here likes them. The party is sold as slaves. This can take a longer period before their friend arranges a chance to escape. Now you should already have decided what the comrade is doing here, and why he is "disguised" as a drow. The answers to that will be important to deciding what measures he will do to rescue the party. |
