| #1naexSep 11, 2008 18:59:31 | Ok, I am thinking of a character that is a Spirit Folk (Forest/Bamboo), which means I have to convert the race to 4e. My thoughts/questions are... 1. Would Spirit Folk be counted as Fey? (The description seems to favor it) 2. If they are Fey, then would their normal dislike of being wizards extend to being a Fey pact Warlock? 3. Should I count each type - Forest/Bamboo, Mountain, River, Sea (any I missed?) - as a separate race, each with it's own basic features, or should I create a basic race and then differentiate each with a few different racial powers. some things are obvious, such as a +2 bonus to Nature, +2 bonus to wisdom (in tune with their surroundings), the rest depends on the answers to above. look forward to your ideas... |

(The description seems to favor it) -Yes, I would think so. 2. If they are Fey, then would their normal dislike of being wizards extend to being a Fey pact Warlock? -Depends. How does the Fey Pact work? Are those Warlocks being granted powers by Fey creatures, or are they drawing power from the Plane itself? In the case of the former, no, because a Fey creature is willingly supplying them with their power. In the case of the latter, yes, because they are siphoning off from the power of the Plane of Faerie without anyone's "permission". 3. Should I count each type - Forest/Bamboo, Mountain, River, Sea (any I missed?) - as a separate race, each with it's own basic features, or should I create a basic race and then differentiate each with a few different racial powers. -I'd do what they're doing with Genasi- They're all the same race, but with different "built-in" feats. |
