I need info about Kael, son of Aliisza, and Smylla Nathos. What levels and class(es) would you give them? Kael is obviously drow half-fiend, and Smylla is human. I don't want super-epic ideas, though.

-Is more information on Kael ever given, in the Empyrean Odyssey trilogy? I only read the first one, and that one doesn't go into much, concerning him.

The second one really doesn't give us much more to work with. The third one, however, really seems to stoke life into him. He actually has independent thoughts and he seems to be placed on a level equal to Kaanyr, Tauran, and Aliisza. As for combat, he tends just to be a hack-and-slash Paladin; doesn't really have any of his father's magic in him, nor is he really harnessing Torm's divine favor too often. Oh, and speaking of his father... Yeah, third book provides a lovely fanservice for those who enjoyed a certain War of the Spiders Queen character.

The third one being? I only heard about the first two.
Okay, that's some info.
Kael: LG drow half-fiend Pal 16 of Torm
isn't that right? Or maybe 14 levels?

Now there's an unorthodox character if I ever saw one

-Wouldn't he be a Half-Drow? His father was a Drow, his mother an Alu-Fiend, so he isn't a full-blooded Drow...

The Crystal Mountain. It wasn't much better or worse than either of the first two. Okay, maybe it was a tad worse.

I'd go with 14 levels, personally. He didn't strike me as terribly strong. And wouldn't he be a Fiendish Half-Drow, or something to that extent? Also, just so you know, Kael began to doubt Torm's might at the end of the third book. He didn't renounce him, but he said he had some soul-searching to do.

Thanks!
And now, Smylla. What do you make of her? I have Dissolution; where I could find more info about her?

Gods, I haven't thought of her in ages. I'm afraid I can't be of much help regarding Smylla until I brush the dust off and re-introduce myself to her.

Well, looking at my sources I came up with two things. One, she's a diviner. Two, she is Chessentan (or at least her name is).

In 3.5 terms I interpreted Kael as a halfdrow halffiend greatsword specialist fighter who is on the path of becoming a Champion of Torm. In the first book of the Empyrean Odyssey he's a fighter 7/ champion of torm 1, the second he literally dings to a level 5 champion of Torm during his fight with Kashada's shadows. He's 6th or 7th level into his prestige class at the end of Crystal Mountain.

I'm ready to agree. And I worked Smylla out on my own. Thanks.
