Lucan, Male Elven Druid
More Information: Lucan is not naked at first, his fur turns to Hide armor in his human form. What, though the Primal Spirits would make him walk around naked?

Ever since he was a young pup, Lucan lived in Gray Vale, at the base of Star Mountain. Every night, he and his Mother would look up to the mountain and watch the strange lights flickering around the top. His Pack was always fascinated by these lights, believing them to be the Primal Spirits themselves. He was told the legends of the pack, passed down from generation to generation. He was fascinated with these stories and wanted to one day, climb the mountain ad see what was truly at the top.

One day, on the Eve of his eighteenth birthday, Lucan had a dream. In this dream, he was running from something, although it seemed just like a shadowy figure. Soon, the figure caught up to him and dragged him into an Abyss, were he paniked and tried to escape. However, before he was totally immersed in the darkness, a Figure, a male Wild Elf. walked up to him and pulled him out. He also saw a man, standing behind him, although he did no action, Lucan was able to see his face.

Lucan awoke from this dream with a start, not knowing what had happened. He tried to tell himself it was all a dream. He got up and walked sleepily to the stream in which the pack drank out of. As he went to take a drink, he saw that he had been transformed into the figure that had pulled him from the abyss in his dream. He was startled at first, and backed up rapidly. Soon, he went back to the water and stared at his reflection. he focused and closed his eyes, when they opened again, he saw that he had been able to return to his wolf form.

Soon after that though, his reflection turned into a raven, who flew south, following the river. Lucan, without thinking, followed it. He ran as fast as he could, as though he was being pulled along that path, not looking back. Although, no matter how fast Lucan ran, he could not catch up to the Raven in the River, always being able to out speed him. It was dawn before Lucan had reached the Raven, as it perched in the rivers reflection, Lucan looked up and saw that there was no bird in the tree that it would be perched on. He looked down and saw that it held out its wing. He turned his head and saw a small village not far off. As he looked back down in the water, the raven was gone.

As he entered the village, he did not get the reaction he was hoping. Everyone turned to him and saw a wolf, the all ran into the houses. Lucan was shocked by there reactions, and looked blankly at them. Soon, men cam out of the houses, with pitchforks and torches, the threw rocks at them, yelling at him, telling him to get out of the village. He ran from that village. He left the village border, were the men stopped chasing him. However, Lucan notice something different, this time he could UNDERSTAND them.

As he was walking back to his pack, the Raven appeared again, as a reflection in the water. Lucan noticed this and turned to it. It kept pointing him to that village, as if it knew something. He then thought of something new. He looked at himself in the reflection in the water, seeing his wolf form. He closed his eyes. When he opened them again, he saw his Elven form. He walked back into the village, this time grated with a little more warm welcome then his wolf form. He walked up to one of them men and asked what all the commotion was about. The man answered him, saying that they were just attacked by a wolf. Lucan would have said something, be he saw a raven in some puddles on the ground. He looked up again, but saw nothing. He said nothing more to the man, but ran after the ravens reflection.

It led him to the entrance of a tavern. He felt as if he was supposed to go in there. As he went in, he saw a man, not knowing what his name was, but recognized his face, it was the face of the other man in his dream. He walked over to him and sat down at the table. "Can I help you?" The man asked, as if he was annoyed by what Lucan had done. Lucan seemed that this guy could be trusted, why else would the raven lead Lucan to him? he told this man his story.

The man seemed puzzled, as is not knowing if he could trust Lucan. "Well," the name said. "I don't know if I can believe your story, but you do have a mind. If what you are telling my is true, why not join a little guild? Its kind of like a pack, seeing as whatever made you human gave you know money, you might need to make some for yourself. Go over to Dalelands. Here take this" The guy got out a bag and gave it to Lucan. "Here, you might want to get some things for your adventure. If they ask who sent ya, just say it was Candle Jakk." With that, the stranger left, leaving Lucan to decide his next move himself.

After that, he bought the stuff Candle Jakk said he needed and headed off. He waited until he was a safe distance off and turned into a wolf, traveling as fast as he could to the place Candle Jakk told him about.

Ever since he was a young pup, Lucan was in Grey Vale at the base of Star Mountain. Every night, He and his mother looked up to the mountain and watched the Strange Lights that flickered atop its range. His mother told him a legend about the Primal Spirits and these lights, a story passed along the Pack for many generation before Lucan. This made him curious and wanting to climb the mountain to see what was at the summit. Before he mad it to the top, however, he was struck by a flash of bright light. In this time, he claims to have seen the Primal Spirits, who had blessed him with the ability to tranceform into an Elf when he pleased. He was also gifted with the ability of speech and knowledge.

After this, he felt an urge to travel. He soon left the pack, not giving a fair well. He later found himself in Loudwater. There, he met someone by the name of Candle Jakk, who noticed his abilities. He invited him to join a Mercenary Adventuring Company. He decided to join this Company, gaining the ability to Travel around the world, and fulfill this urge. He was told to go to Dalelands, and find the Company.

Well, thats what I got so far, any Suggestions or things? (and yes, I was given permission to use Eldric IV Character in my Background).

Well something that would be nice to know, what class is your character going to be?

I really like your idea though, my thoughts from what you said was the whole Brother Bear route. Don't know if you saw the Disney movie but basically this guy was changed after climbing up a mountain and getting in the Aurora Borealis, his god changed him into a bear.

Now my thought would be that your character was a wolf that had a sentience. Possible, it's fantasy. So on that note you could have the wolf just feel a strange draw to a mountain top, the Aurora, and there the gods speak to him. They grant him this ability to reflect the mind instead of the beast so that he can go on a quest for them(relate this to the overall story of the DM's). Now the reason I asked about the class is that this would fit very well with Primal classes by nature. But you can still fit it to any class really. That's what I'd do.

Even if you can only be an Elf, it doesn't change things only that when you go up to the mountain and the Aurora and your god or a god speaks to you, it's simply to say you've been chosen to venture forth into the far lands on a quest for them and the greater good of your people. I would say though if you do have the wolf to Elf transformation make the elf more like a wild elf, not real civilized at first but had those habits grow over time.

Well personally I have my own character (which isn't used in DnD) whose is a righteous assassin but instead of fighting for whats right he fights for his clan and his family. My character never had any parents to take care of him(cheesy, yes) so he was always out of lines and wondering off into the wilderness in this forest which the clan hides itself in has a pack of mystical wolves which have the ability to turn themselves invisible, or their skin and claw into unbreakable flexible metal, they are fast, wise, and communicate with telepathy, they secretly keep the world in check being the order more advance race and the oldest live up to thousands of years.

My character when young had nothing was accepted by one of these wolves. The wolf that took him in was actually "young" and "rebellious" only a little more than a hundred years old. The elders of the wolven clan try to keep this young wolf into line but always had a hard time. During their meeting some of the more vigorous wolves was trying to persuade the elder of the wolven clan to simply slay the insignificant human. But the elder who was lost about what to do with this young rebellious wolf decided to wait and see. Over time the human and the wolf quickly became friends and companions living off the wilderness both rebellious for their own kin found a friend and with this managed to stay on the right road and maturing. Quickly over time other younger wolves joined these two youth. The older wolves looked pass the differences and each sooner or later(mostly later) accepted the young human.

My character learned much from these wolves especially hunting, how to move, how to kill, perfect execution of technique and form which took decades of mastery which were pass down from wolf to wolf. Each younger generation learning their old styles and customs but yet adding a mix of their own hit of style into it. Each time evolving in its own way. As the human grew into a full grown man he was strong, he learned respect for all living things and now has to set out for his own path. Whatever he does is up to you but wherever he goes he keeps two things within this year. The teaching from the wolves and his human clan which is the closest thing he has to his real family.

This character actually "lives" in the Mech Warroirs universe he lives in the world where the Steel Wolves home base is. The Steel Wolves are feared fighters but little comprehend the meaning and where the name "Steel Wolves" come from. Even the solders themselves does not understand its significance.

Forgive me for my grammar mistakes, I rushed this one.

Lol, thanks for the help guys

If you haven't guessed yet, the only class that allows me to tranceform from Elf to Wolf (or Vise Versa) is the Druid class (Although, by your posts, it seems like you got that).

And thats OK for Grammar, I ain't so good at it either.

Anyway, I know have a reason to travel from point 1 to point 2. I have to go now, so I will edit when I get back and tell.

So, either my story is so good is doesn't need to be edited or (the the one that is most likely true) it sucks so bad that no one want to read it.

So, anyone going to read the story (Puts Story at the time so people can read it not having to read the other posts, maybe that will work).

The story sounds good. I like the idea of a wolf that was charged with a mission by Primal Spirits and they gave him the ability to transform into a "man" in order to fulfill their will in the world.

Do not worry too much about getting the DM's permission to play a wolf who transforms into an elf. As long as you are following the rules, your character is fine.

Oh, well if you say it is OK, then I see no reason not to make a background for this pup. I was thinking of changing it around a bit though, maybe instead of already climbed part way, I was thinking of the Primal Spirits appearing to him in a dream, (donno about the dream right now). But when he awoke from his dream, he found that he had been tranceformed into a Wild Elf.

Just a Idea though, maybe I could add some things in there. I will update my Sig after I am finished, so if you want to read, keep and eye out. (Also, I might ask people to read it before I go tomorrow to see how it is). Thanks for the help guys.

~EDIT~
Wow, this is really kinda fun!
