| #1narackOct 14, 2008 7:33:13 | I ran my first FR game last weekend, a 14 hour session. I decided to go with the Loudwater adventure included inside the Campaign Guide. Unfortunately my player screw the whole adventure and **** off bunch of goblin tribes and goblins strike back by killing nearby village. They annihilated Loudwater and all the quest with it, and by the same mean, 500++ goblins even if they are minions level 1 and 2 characters don't stand a chance, so they all died. I Now need to restart a new campaign, the problem is i was basing all myself on that adventure since i know nothing or so of FR. So i need to restart a new campaign in 4 weeks. and i wonder if there is something ready that i could make use to start with. or is there a good site with plot idea that i could use to incorporate into FR world. Ive been running a campaign for 2 years with those guys and i pretty much used all my ideas so far. So if someone know a site of plot idea or good quest for FR starters, or idea to modify one of the loudwater side quest to make it a big starter quest you are welcome. |

If you were using the Loudwater adventure as your campaign starting point, that means you have the FRCG. Read it. By doing so, you'll learn about the Forgotten Realms, what it's like, who lives there, and so on. Once you're done, pick a region that appeals to you, and there you go. -A lot of people like starting their campaigns in or around:

My suggestion would be to open the book, and turn to the Luskan page (pg 148), and run a game based of the conflicts there, until the party is solid enough and has learned enough caution to go other places. Luscan is an interesting place in the new edition, as it has the post-apocolyptic feel, it's a place that people who play the computer games are slightly familuar with, and it's set up with street wars and gang conflict in mind. You could run the whole game very similar to a Shadowrun game, if you really wanted to, and it would still fit very well inside Luskan's border. One can also play from the angle that a old Neverwinter Nine character (An elf or a Dwarf work best here) is pulling strings from far behind the scenes to make sure that Luskan never gets re-organized, using players as shadow agents in front of shadow agents, to prevent the restoration of the Harbor and the rebuilding of the three bridges, as well as taking out whatever Warlord manages to rise out of the chaos that is Luskan. |
