#1 reneshat May 28, 2008 2:19:38	I was hoping I could get a list of novels that Halaster Blackcloak are in. Also, what would be the best sourcebooks to get more information on him as well? I have just been hit with an overwhelming urge to soak myself with Halaster specific lore....
#2 Stigger May 28, 2008 2:29:23	He was in Elminster in Hell and Silverfall, both by Ed Greenwood... only two I can think of, and the appearances were minor for the most part. As for sourcebooks... not many that really went much into him specifically. He's usually covered in a fairly peripheral manner for some reason. The 2e Undermountain boxed sets and modules (Dungeon Crawl I think they were called, not sure as I'm none too familiar with modules) would probably have some information on him.

Well I know he was also in Escape from Undermountain. Thanks for the info. I will see what I can find of the Undermountain box set. If anyone else has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
#4 Stigger May 28, 2008 2:40:40	He could be in other novels... those are the only two I know of, and I'd be the first to admit my knowledge of novel content is extremely limited, at best. ;)

However, that one got derailed into an argument between someone other than Lord Karsus who wanted to be LK, and then something about a love fest between LK and Rino, and it seems like Halaster was forgotten....

#9 markustay63 May 29, 2008 17:48:27	There was some decent information in the Sharpfangs entry in the Dragons of Faerun sourcebook, but I forget that dragon's real name (Illy-something?), and I'm not at home ATM. There may have been other info in there as well (don't remember if her daughter had a seperate entry - her and Halaster had a 'thing', but I don't recall the details). Loved his roll in El in Hell - he may of had a small part, but he was the star, IMO. The dude catted up Asmodeus, Yo! His Blackstaff appearance was indeed teensy-tiny, but just as in EiH, it was memorable and made the ending for me. The guy has more personality than an army of main characters, the power of Elminster, and the complete lack of morality to just do whatever the Hell he wants. He is the very definition of 'cool'. Didn't they get rid of him to make way for 4e?

I can't help that I am that awesome. Didn't they get rid of him to make way for 4e? -Not specifically, but his death was some "foreshadowing" for what was/is to come. It was poorly done (as in mentioned in the adventure), in my opinion, but now that time has passed, and I have come to accept it, what actually happened to him isn't actually that bad. There are still a couple of "loopholes" that I think exist, but...
#11 jhalad May 31, 2008 14:24:30	I was gonna mention Escape from Undermountain. I know his stats are in Epic Level Handbook, and were updated for 3.5 And there's some vague references to him in the module Stardock. And you can watch him die in Return to Undermountain hardcover adventure.
