So I'm looking for novels worth reading that take place PRIOR to the jump made post Spellplague. I will eventually read a few new novels, even thought I'm not playing 4e FR, but I want to round out the novels I have missed.

I'm putting off the War of the Spider Queen series, simply because I'm not a big drow fan. I'll get to it in time.

And the Drizzt & Co. books- I wanna stay away from these as well. There are other characters in FR worth writing about; I'd like to get to know them.

That said, any must reads? As an example, I really enjoyed the Twilight Vale trilogy with the giants. Just a fun read.

-Whoa...Talk about major deja vu. I could have sworn I just answered the same exact question with nearly the same exact post last night...Either way...

-Depending on what you want to read, there's plenty of novels worth reading. You can check out this very incomplete Forgotten Realms Novel Guide to find out what novels exist on what subjects.

EDIT: A ha! It's not deja vu. I did. I knew something fishy was going on.

I think my favorite ones were the Azure Bonds. They weren't big events, but they were good stories.
