| #1todesherrMay 10, 2008 21:57:10 | I have a feeling that many of the gods will be said to have always been just saints of the major gods; still worse, I fear that many of the lesser gods will be restrospectively relegated to 'aspects' of greater gods and had been mistakenly thought of as separate deities; some examples. Auril> aspect of Talos Deneir> aspect of Oghma Liira> aspect of Sune Loviator> aspect of Bane Talona> aspect of Shar And why not? Grummsh was always just Talos in disguise, right? Maybe just another crackpot theory....but given the current trends, who knows? |
| #218DELTAMay 10, 2008 22:15:23 | I have a feeling that many of the gods will be said to have always been just saints of the major gods; still worse, I fear that many of the lesser gods will be restrospectively relegated to 'aspects' of greater gods and had been mistakenly thought of as separate deities; some examples. -Well I do know that in Richard Baker's new novel Swordmage that Show Amuator(sp) has supplanted Lathander. The God is in his day time aspect. The new faith respects the old faith. Its was starting to be forshadowed in 3.5. |
| #3SmartPaladinMay 10, 2008 22:33:51 | Loviator> aspect of Bane Why? What would make anyone think this was a good idea? Loviator is far more kick ass then Bane could ever be. Not only that, but she's Ilmater's lover! Okay, maybe I'm the only one crazy enough to see Ilmater and Loviator together, but atleast when 4.0 comes up, there should be no reason why Ilmater and Loviator shouldn't come out as being lovers. They're a perfect couple! |
| #4the_shamanMay 10, 2008 23:38:47 | You mean bickering, b...hing and having nearly nothing altogether as far as worldview is concerned? Perfect isn't quite the word that comes to mind. I can give you "usual" though ![]() As for Loviatar and Bane... tell me you didn't write that that. Loviatar may be snazzy, but when Big B kicks an ass, it stays kicked. |
| #5SmartPaladinMay 11, 2008 3:03:48 | You mean bickering, b...hing and having nearly nothing altogether as far as worldview is concerned? Perfect isn't quite the word that comes to mind. I can give you "usual" though I don't know... Ilmater loves pain, alittle to much, and Loviatar loves to dish it out. Sounds like true love to me. :P As for Loviatar and Bane... tell me you didn't write that that. Loviatar may be snazzy, but when Big B kicks an ass, it stays kicked. Why yes, yes I did write that. Granted, that could have something to do with the Avatar series, and Bane wasn't really that "awesome" of a deity... Now Mask on the other hand... |
| #6KhaeliethMay 11, 2008 7:05:50 | My brain's going fuzzy from 4ed. |
| #7StiggerMay 11, 2008 8:19:51 | My brain says to just ignore it and do whatever the hell I want... |
| #8draco_spiritMay 11, 2008 12:00:43 | My brain says to just ignore it and do whatever the hell I want... *nods nods* |
| #9lord_karsusMay 11, 2008 16:26:52 | I have a feeling that many of the gods will be said to have always been just saints of the major gods -Yes, we know this already. It's been established fact for quite some time now. |
| #10rinonalyrna_fathomlinMay 11, 2008 17:40:47 | Also, remember that there are going to be greater gods, lesser gods, and exachs. It's not like every god that isn't a greater god is going to wind up as an exarch. |
| #11GreenKnightMay 11, 2008 19:23:40 | I don't remember where it was said, but if I remember right there's going to be about 15-20 Greater Gods, 15-20 Lesser Gods, and the rest will be Demigods/Exarchs. |
| #12SmartPaladinMay 11, 2008 20:34:58 | I don't remember where it was said, but if I remember right there's going to be about 15-20 Greater Gods, 15-20 Lesser Gods, and the rest will be Demigods/Exarchs. And knowing my luck, not only will Hoar be a Demigod/Exarch, which is what he was in 3.x anyway, but he'll also being under Shar's thumb. Lord will I be ticked if it turns out that way... |
| #13GreenKnightMay 11, 2008 20:52:54 | I'm hoping Hoar will move into the House of the Triad, myself. |
| #14lord_karsusMay 11, 2008 21:13:38 | I don't remember where it was said, but if I remember right there's going to be about 15-20 Greater Gods, 15-20 Lesser Gods, and the rest will be Demigods/Exarchs. -The 15-20 Greater Deities, I also recall. The 15-20 Lesser Deities I don't, though. |
| #15GreenKnightMay 11, 2008 23:31:44 | -The 15-20 Greater Deities, I also recall. The 15-20 Lesser Deities I don't, though. Here's the post. "We think there are about 15-20 greater gods, a like number of lesser gods, and the rest of the figures in the pantheon are probably demigods." |
| #16lord_karsusMay 11, 2008 23:42:33 | -I wasn't doubting you, I was just saying. |
| #17GreenKnightMay 12, 2008 0:07:17 | Yeah I know. I just like showing off my impressive Search-Fu at every opportunity. ![]() |
| #18lord_karsusMay 12, 2008 0:08:13 | -Well, good job there. Who're you trying to impress, eh? |
| #19GreenKnightMay 12, 2008 0:12:09 | Myself, mostly. Have I mentioned that I'm an egomaniac? ;) |
| #20lord_karsusMay 12, 2008 0:16:03 | -Ah, no, no I did not know that. I thought maybe there was a GreenMaiden, or something to that effect. ;) |
| #21GreenKnightMay 12, 2008 0:25:01 | -Ah, no, no I did not know that. I thought maybe there was a GreenMaiden, or something to that effect. ;) Oh, don't even mention that ![]() ! We had this thing going where she was supposed to pretend to seduce a knight, to test his virtue. She wasn't supposed to go all the way, though. She'd try to seduce him, and if he gave in, she was supposed to come up with some excuse not to consummate things. Then I'd cut off his head. Least that's how things were SUPPOSED to work, until the last time. That ![]() guzzling disease ridden ! And you know what burns me? Despite that, the judge STILL gave her 50% of all my property, along with alimony, too. WHAT... THE... HELL?!? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() !!!! |
| #22lord_karsusMay 12, 2008 0:39:51 | -See, that's what happens when Tyr is not around to stop Shar from whispering mean things in Hoar's ear. |
| #23SmartPaladinMay 12, 2008 3:08:17 | -See, that's what happens when Tyr is not around to stop Shar from whispering mean things in Hoar's ear. How ya figure? Even if Shar was whispering things in Hoar's ear, he'd have still been all over what happened to GreenKnight. |
| #24lord_karsusMay 12, 2008 11:15:15 | How ya figure? Even if Shar was whispering things in Hoar's ear, he'd have still been all over what happened to GreenKnight. -Sounds like something Hoar would do. |
| #25rinonalyrna_fathomlinMay 12, 2008 12:08:58 | Oh, don't even mention that That's entrapment! ![]() |
| #26StiggerMay 12, 2008 13:29:46 | If you're engaging in things like decapitation, somehow I suspect that a silly little thing like entrapment is going to be much of an issue. ;) |
| #27SmartPaladinMay 12, 2008 16:05:29 | Oh, don't even mention that Then again, rereading about it, I think Hoar already dealt with the problem. It started off with them trying to trick the knight, and then kill him. Yet it blew up in GreenKnight's face... Yeah, I think I'd call that Poetic. |
| #28StiggerMay 12, 2008 16:33:51 | So not touching that... |
| #29SmartPaladinMay 12, 2008 17:51:54 | So not touching that... That's okay, I'm insane. So I'll probably poke it all day. :P |
| #30StiggerMay 13, 2008 1:45:47 | Just remember to document it and make copies of said so we have some evidence when you turn up headless and in the dales with a big Z on your chest... :D |
| #31KerythMay 13, 2008 10:26:57 | Oh, don't even mention that Two words for you Greenknight. Sir....Gawain ![]() And is it just me or do you bear a striking resemblance to Sean Connery? :D |
| #32KhaeliethMay 13, 2008 12:03:33 | "i'm sir Galahad! The Chaste!" "i'm Zoot. Just Zoot." Castle Anthrax ftw. |
| #33SmartPaladinMay 13, 2008 12:43:41 | "i'm sir Galahad! The Chaste!" lol, I loved that movie. :P |
| #34todesherrMay 13, 2008 21:02:29 | Highjacked! |
| #35KhaeliethMay 13, 2008 21:12:58 | lol, I loved that movie. :P Life of Brian was best tbh. |
| #36SmartPaladinMay 13, 2008 22:21:24 | Life of Brian was best tbh. I missed that one. My choices was Play D&D, or watch Life of Brian. I went with D&D. I was a Human Paladin, in a party full of Elves Rangers... I stuck out like a sore thumb. I did however Tank nicely. :P Highjacked! Why yes, as a matter of fact it has been. |
| #37KhaeliethMay 14, 2008 6:22:45 | Always wanted to have an unladen swallow riddle in my D&D games=( |
| #38GreenKnightMay 15, 2008 0:57:39 | Then again, rereading about it, I think Hoar already dealt with the problem. It started off with them trying to trick the knight, and then kill him. Yet it blew up in GreenKnight's face... Yeah, I think I'd call that Poetic. Actually, I think we were doing Hoar's work, here. The only ones who got decapitated were the ones who weren't as virtuous as they made out to be. Essentially it was a glorified medieval sting operation. The knights who were virtuous, however, were spared, and learned a little something about themselves in the process. It was wholly beneficial... unless they turned out to be scumbags, in which case they got their heads chopped off. Two words for you Greenknight. Yeah, he's one of my success stories. And is it just me or do you bear a striking resemblance to Sean Connery? Shocking. Positively shocking. |
| #39KhaeliethMay 15, 2008 8:16:03 | GreenKnight doesn't have an eastern Scots accent, i believe?;p |
| #40KerythMay 15, 2008 10:40:28 | Actually, I was making a reference ot a rather obscure movie where Sean Connery played the Green Knight and it involved Sir Gawain. Don;t remmeber much of it as Is aw it once on HBO A LONG time ago. |
| #41lord_karsusMay 15, 2008 12:22:23 | Actually, I was making a reference ot a rather obscure movie where Sean Connery played the Green Knight and it involved Sir Gawain. Don;t remmeber much of it as Is aw it once on HBO A LONG time ago. -Methinks it was this one: Sword of the Valiant: The Legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight |
| #42KhaeliethMay 15, 2008 15:38:36 | Ah, kk. But Sean Connery as the Green Knight still probably couldn't pull off anything but a Scots accent. |
| #43markustay63May 15, 2008 16:16:42 | Oh, don't even mention that There's a GOOD reason why the 'Revenge God' is named Hoar, after all. ;) |
| #44KhaeliethMay 15, 2008 17:38:17 | My dad caught me and my brother talking about Calishites and Hoar. He ****** himself;p Edit: Bloody Hell! Why can't i write that!? That's not even a swear word! He p-i-s-s-e-d himself. |
| #45SmartPaladinMay 15, 2008 19:15:33 | There's a GOOD reason why the 'Revenge God' is named Hoar, after all. ;) Maybe he should go back to being Assuran... No, wait... If they are going to rename Aasimar because somepeople can't say it right, then Hoar will probably get a name change as well... He won't be Assuran, he won't be Hoar, he'll be _____. My dad caught me and my brother talking about Calishites and Hoar. He ****** himself;p Was it in mirth? :P |
| #46lord_karsusMay 15, 2008 19:58:40 | Maybe he should go back to being Assuran... No, wait... If they are going to rename Aasimar because somepeople can't say it right, then Hoar will probably get a name change as well... He won't be Assuran, he won't be Hoar, he'll be _____. -The deity formerly known as Assuran/Hoar. -Or, maybe he'll just be ![]() |
| #47markustay63May 15, 2008 23:43:20 | Maybe we'll get an Amalgam of the two... And they'll call him "Ass-Hoar". :D |
| #48lord_karsusMay 16, 2008 0:08:40 | -I'm not particularly sure what type of emoticon I should use in response to that. |
| #49StiggerMay 16, 2008 1:35:30 | is the emoticon I shall choose for a response. |
| #50SmartPaladinMay 16, 2008 1:49:53 | Maybe we'll get an Amalgam of the two... Remind me to hit you for that one. Hard. ![]() |
