| #1BadCatManNov 24, 2008 2:36:23 | I just noticed this, and figured that others might have missed it too. It's a prequel to The Dungeons: The Crypt Of The Moaning Diamond by Rosemary Jones. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4dnd/20081124 Free classic Forgotten Realms fiction on the WotC website! :D Mini-Review: It was nice to read about the Siegebreakers again, but with only their familiar bickering going on, it wasn't really as enjoyable as I found the novel. Maybe I just should have read it at a different time of the day. Or maybe it was too short to put a lot of stuff in. There's no great danger, apart from the short bit about fleeing the exploding tower. Perhaps if the mad hog-hunting wizard had still been present, hurling spells as the Siegebreakers ferried dead pigs to and fro, things might have gotten interesting... :D |

The events were referenced in the novel, but not shown. This short story is new. |

| #7unfamiliarNov 26, 2008 8:50:47 | I'm really glad this prequel came out now, 'cause I've had the novel kicking around since July & haven't gotten around to reading it just yet (too busy devouring 4e rulebooks at the moment). Got a kick out of the idea of a pig-hating wizard, though. If the book's half as amusing, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. |
