I'm having the PC's find a book that has a list of portals to inner and outer planes that exist in the realms.
I'm trying to get ideas of a locale and where the portal leads.... beside the known ones, does anyone have any good ideas? (Note: this is 3.5 version, 1385 DR. the spell plauge was stopped in this campaign)
just something to flesh out the campaign.

-Uh...Anywhere? It's pretty broad.

-What are a couple of more details, from your game? Where are the PCs? Who are the PC? Who are the main antagonists right now? Where are they finding this book, and who had it?

I just needed a few unique ideas.... In this campaign, again, version 3.5 circa 1385 DR. Elminster and the rest of mystras chosen was blasted away from an eclipse during the beginning of the spellplauge, (Which the PC's stopped, long story) much like the damage done to mystras chosen in the "Shadowdale" module, only much worse, which blasted mystra's chosen into dust.
Anyhow, the book is supposed to be a journal of portals jotted down by Elminster over his many years of experience (Before his death obviously).
I didn't need it for any direction for the PC's to take, just something to add flavor to the adventure.
I thought with the wealth of experience out there, some of you may have some cool ideas that I hadn't thought of.... Really, it could be anywhere with a portal leading to anywhere...
Again, if anyone has any neat ideas, let me know, thanks.....

-The City of Brass, then. I've always liked the City of Brass. Random locales on any of the Elemental, Para-Elemental, or Quasi-Elemental places also work- you don't really even need specific creatures, places, or people, since the "scenery" is enough.

Ok, maybe I wasn't clear in my question.....
A book that has a list of portals on Toril (Faerun) that leads to another plane.
Such as "The grand museum of antiquities in the city of Calimport is rumored to have a portal to the city of brass"
(It's strange you mention the "City of Brass" because thats where the next adventure takes place)
I just wanted the book to have a list of other locales in toril that listed portals to other planes jsut to add flavor to the adventure....

Having a portal in Calimport that leads to the city of Brass is good.

The House of Long Silences has many portals (and an Eladrin guardian) leading all over Fearun and beyond.

Portals in the Yuirwood lead to the Feywild.

Portal near the Great Glacier leads to Elemental Chaos (water/air area) or rather the elemental plans of water and air, if you aren't using the new setup.

Portal(s) in the Vast Swamp lead to the Shadowfell.

Portal in Evereska leads to the Arvandor.

...can't think of any more at the moment, but I'll post more if I do.

Actually, here's an archive of all the Perilous Gateways (Portals of the Forgotten Realms) articles. No need to put them all in your list; in total there are over a hundred of them.
