| #1varedJul 15, 2008 8:42:44 | There is not a great many of the 'regulars' here at the WotC Forgotten Realms forums that seem that optimistic about the coming changes. Most seem the either openly loathe, or at least be concerned about them. However, some are positive! Most notably Mr. Miscellany, I think. Not to start a war, or anything, but... You seem so positive about the utter annhiliation(in my opinion) of the Realms, that I cannot help but wonder if you actually work for WotC. If you are not, please explain to us(and me) why! If anyone else feel the same way(positive about the 4th edition Realms), please explain it. ...For I cannot, in my wildest imagination, understand how someone could 'feel positive' about the trashing of two decades worth of lore, the introduction of (in my opinion, again) terrible, poorly thought-through and executed 'plot elements' (such as the death of Helm, the end of Halruaa, and the introduction of the Dragonborn, to name a few). I mean no offense, I'm just interested in finding out(as might others be). |
| #2merrikcaleJul 15, 2008 8:45:20 | yeah. this shouldn't start anything |
| #3valgardJul 15, 2008 8:59:12 | You have to see the glass half full rather than half empty (I don't know if that's how it's said in English ). |
| #4merrikcaleJul 15, 2008 9:04:05 | You have to see the glass half full rather than half empty (I don't know if that's how it's said in English you got it though here, I see the glass as three-quarters empty |
| #5valgardJul 15, 2008 9:17:20 | you got it You got it too! ![]() |

| #8nymrohdJul 15, 2008 13:51:29 | There is nothing funny about flame baiting |
| #9StiggerJul 15, 2008 13:58:55 | Doesn't have to sink to that level... it probably will, I admit, but it doesn't necessarily have to. |
| #10TheriseJul 15, 2008 14:18:02 | I vote for closing this thread. For the OP: mostly, this has been answered by both sides in the I, Asmodeus thread. |
| #11markustay63Jul 15, 2008 14:19:53 | I, for one, would like to hear what Misc has to say in that regard. I think he and I are on the same page 75% of the time, and I think our greatest disagreemnet comes from him embracing the changes, whereas many of us aren't quite so happy with them. Then again, he has given his opinion about it plenty of times before... You have to see the glass half full rather than half empty (I don't know if that's how it's said in English Its more like the glass has been completely dumped out, and then they peed in it, and now they want us to pretend it's apple juice. That ought to get the flame-ball a'rollin'. :P |
| #12merrikcaleJul 15, 2008 14:21:57 | so we're all in agreement that Mr. Misc is on the take?![]() |
| #13markustay63Jul 15, 2008 14:23:39 | No...not at all. I just think he has a peculiarly 'upbeat' attitude for today's world. The Internet is good for only two things, and complaining is one of them. ;) |
| #14gomeztooJul 15, 2008 14:32:39 | though here, I see the glass as three-quarters empty See, that's still a quarter full... :D Anyway I am *fairly* positive about 4th ed Realms. I dislike some changes, but I can roll with them. There are opportunities for new stories, some of which show promise, such as Akanul. And I do get the opportunity to start interesting (I hope) plots and stories in the Dalelands. |
| #15atticuseternalJul 15, 2008 14:40:07 | There is not a great many of the 'regulars' here at the WotC Forgotten Realms forums that seem that optimistic about the coming changes. Most seem the either openly loathe, or at least be concerned about them. I am very excited about the changes, and no, I dont work for WotC (though that would be awesome). I've gone into my reasons before, and I really dont feel like posting all of them here just to have them denounced and ridiculed, tbh. Suffice to say that it is in my opinion that the realms needed some fat cut from it, some things shaken up in it, and some mystery injected back into it (hence the forgotten part). I had gotten bored with the Realms somewhat, and these changes have givin me my excitement and sense of wonder back. |
| #16nymrohdJul 15, 2008 14:41:37 | I'm positive about 4E FR too last I checked. I do sometimes wonder where did everyone QQ before the internet. I mean at any given moment, I would no be surprised if at least 10mil people were whining about something over the net. |
| #17markustay63Jul 15, 2008 14:43:31 | Much MORE then that - that's just NY City right there. ;) |
