Where do the new psionic races (shardmind and wilder) fit into Faerun?  Githzerai can be explained as planar travellers who oppose the githyanki.  Old 3.5 content gives us background on thri-keen.  Apparently, goliaths are the new half-giants!

Does antbody know if the elan might be fleshed out for 4E?

There was a race of plant people in the Unapprochable East 3.x Realms sourcebook, I dont remember their backstory fully, and I dont feel like checking at the moment, something about humans being turned into plant people by Druids or something, was it the Nentyarch? I cant remeber, perhaps someone else knows what the hell im talking about? Any way I think they would fit for the Wilden.

The Shardmind's origin story doesnt really fit in the Realms, but Goldie has a good point, you could just say that theyre Plaguechanged or something like that.

And the 4eFRCG gives some info on the Goliaths, and where theyre from. Oh sorry my bad, it in the 4e Realms PLayers Guide pg 21 "goliaths live mostly in the little-known ranges of eastern Faerûn—the Thesk Mountains, the Mountains of Copper, the Sunrise Mountains, and even the bitterly cold Icerim Mountains."

Think you're thinking of Volodyni, or something to that effect.  They used to be Nars, but were transformed into sapient, mobile plants after agreeing to take an oath to prove they had given up their demon summoning ways to become defenders of the woodlands.  Don't recall if it was a group of druids or a deity they were talking to, but its a pretty good bet that a deity was behind the transformation.  Don't recall which offhand, but I've a sneaking suspicion it was Silvanus.

Yeah thats it, the Volodyni. They could work for the Wilden. Of course the fluff for the Wilden could easily be used for the Realms, I think it would be more Realmsy to use the Volodyni.
