My campaign started before I could buy the Guide, so I began with an adventure set in a nondescript town in a nondescript country. The plot I'm stealing from the Akira Kurosawa movie Yojimbo which features a town run by two gangs of criminals torn to shreds by a lone samurai who plays the two factions into destroying each other. To me that just screams Amn, so I've set this village in the Baldur's Gate region just on the other side of the border with Amn. Two merchant houses have set themselves up in that village, and are supporting the gangs. Our cosmopolitan group also seems pretty appropriate for being based out of Baldur's Gate itself. It'll be interesting to see where we go from there. |
