| #1The_High_BlademageJan 21, 2009 12:57:07 | Hi, guys!!! I am a newbie here so you wouldnt mind if I ask some question, do you? So: 1) Cause I don't know which books are explaining the change from 3rd to 4th could someone help me? What happened (breefly) to the pantheon (why Mistra ...sob), the chosen (Where is Elminster and the others?), the 7 sisters and the Evermeet? 2) Did any arcanists atuned to the weave survived with out harm (exept the new magic system). 3) What to the magic items and artifacts (the cormanthirian elfblades, nether scrolls, ...) I know that there are too much but I am very confused. Oh, one last question. What are the knights of Mith Drannor? |
| #2suin_bahhar_02Jan 21, 2009 13:43:17 | Welcome. 1)See the last few pages of the excellent Grand History of the Realms and the 4e Campaign Guide for explenation on Mystra's death. The fate of the Chosen is not totally clear yet but most are gone according to the FRCG. 2) Elminster survived but is barely sane anymore. More than a few long lived casters have survived the Spellplague 3) All items with charges went beserk in 1385 and spent their charges in wild bursts. Other items got thier magic invested upon creation and are so stable they were unaffected by the "magic gone wild" times. The Knights of Myth Drannor are an adventuring band active during the pre 1st edition area (in Ed's orginal campaign); knights of Myth Drannor are also the ancient defenders of that doomed city in 3.5 mostly higher officers of mixed race. In 4e the latter are an active organisation once more (I wonder how or if they changed their emblems and outfitting?). |

Paul Kemps latest focuses on Mask--with foreshadowing. Plague of Spells is also a new one that evidently focuses on the transition. For the most part, Wizards has made it clear that they are not going to elaborate on much of the story. We be screwed. ![]() |

Drizzt will still have his ponderings and while giving some information as well. It was the first I heard of the Spellplague in the Orc King. But my advice is look in the Campaign Guide Aghotr,Ghotr, and the novels mention by other posters here. And if you have any questions search first and then post a thread. Odds are you'll find what you seek. Believe these forumns are a well spring of info tempered with a spot of humor here and there |

He couldn't go into detail that much because I don't think the changes were out yet were they? Orc king(oct 07). Just saying once he delves into 4e with Drizzt. |
| #8JudgeDookieJan 22, 2009 12:16:09 | He was probably aware of enough changes--he was one of the first approached concerning 4e. Either way, my point was the giant ?'s left in the wake of Drizzt's prologue. |
