| #1swimblizz88Aug 17, 2009 17:50:21 | I currently have all the Drizzt books (The Legend of Drizzt, The Hunter's Blade Trilogy, and the first two Transitions books) in hard cover, as well as the last two books of the Sellswords saga. I am just wondering if they are ever going to release the mass market paperback cover version of the Servant of the Shard in hardback? I know the book was released in hardback in 2000 or so, but I was hoping they would re-release it with a cover that would match the covers of the following two books in the series. ![]() |

Since it came out in paperback first, it's not going to be released in hardback. That's not how WOTC operates. |

All of the Drizzt novels were reprinted as hardcover books as part of the "Legend of Drizzt" series, which is composed of, well, every Drizzt book that R.A. Salvatore has written. The difference, here, though, is that Servant of the Shard isn't a Drizzt book, per se. Given the fact that is was recently republished and given a new cover, but was printed as a softcover book, I highly doubt that WotC will, anytime soon, re-rerelease it as a hardcover. |

Thanks for the reply ![]() How might I get in contact with Rich Baker? Also, in response to the other poster, The Servant of the Shard was released in hardback in 2000-2001 with the original cover art. Recently it was re-released in softback with a cover by Todd Lockwood and a Sellswords logo on it, however that cover was never published in hardback even though the two previous novels (Promise of the Witch King and Road to the Patriarch) were. I know I am just being @nal here, but I have all the other books in hardback (with the wonderful art by Todd Lockwood) and I would really like the complete collection :D Edit: Seems like they filtered that word |

Which is why I'm inclined to believe they won't do it. If it went Hardcover A -> Paperback A -> Paperback B, and a number of years have gone by since Paperback B came out, I personally think there's a poor chance of Hardcover B being printed up. But, that's just me. If WOTC thinks there's money to be made in it, I'm sure they'll go for it. ![]() Edit: Seems like they filtered that word You'd be surprised what they filter.;) |
