Question for my next adventure that includes a vampire lord

Feb 01, 2009 12:02:00 So ok, for my next adventure, I wanted my characters to end up in a small town that is under the rule of an evil vampire lord that is affiliated with the Zentharim, but here's my question: in which region should I put this small town???? I want it to be relatively isolated so no major government can oppose the rule of the vampire lord, but still, my characters should be able to end up in it.

Feb 01, 2009 19:41:39 The first town to jump out at me when I read your idea was Dagger Dale. It was once called Merry Dale before a plague of vampires overran it a few hundred years earlier. Could be they didn't vanquish them all and a few escaped to return later for revenge.

As for Zhentarim control, well Zhentil Keep isn't that far and that organization has always had it's eyes on the Dalelands. If the vampire lord is a Zhent, he could be getting orders from Fzoul to infiltrate the city's government (not a big one I assure you) and gain control of the town to launch attacks into the Dalelands.
