I am trying to expand my understanding of Shar as she is figuring prominantly in my game. Does anyone know of some articles detailing her history, realm and the role she played in Mystra's death?

I dont know of any articles, but the 2e sourcebook Faiths and Avatars, would probably be your best bet for Shar lore. Nothing in there about her and Cyric offin Mystra though. I dont think they ever did go into much detail about that.

The Empyrean Odyssey novel series covered it as thoroughly as anything has I think, but I'm not aware of any details in articles or sourcebooks.  The details are pretty scant though, period, as per 4e's seeming emphasis of giving thumbnails and letting us fill in the blanks.  Whether that's liberating or frustrating however is entirely subjective.

Trust me. TEO doesn't do the situation justice. We get a couple of glimpses at the murder, before it happens, and that's it. Oh, we also got a symbolic vision which isn't meant to be interpreted as anything other than a dream. So, yeah, details are almost non-existent.

Hence, the use of the word scant... Tongue out

Oh, I thought he said "skank"...

Well, my point was there were no "real" details in TEO, other than what the characters thought happened, and that the OP is bound to be disappointed if he buys the trilogy simply for the sake of reading up on Mystra's death, but whatever....

And for the record, Stigger said skank. Tongue out

True.

For many years to come at least, there will be no details into what brought about Mystra's demise this time around.

And there's a better source floating around out there?  Not that I'm aware of... its not much, but its the best we've got at the moment.

I didn't say it was good, just that there was nothing better as far as that crap was concerned.  Subtle difference there...Laughing
