Questions: Magic, Aasimar, & Berdusk

Does magic now function in accordance with 4th edition due to Mystra's death? Are Aasimar's considered Devas for 4th edition purposes or do they have a distinct racial set of powers/stats in 4th edition? Is the area south of Berdusk still free? Is the area south of Berdusk still called Green Fields?

-We know that Berdusk existed until at least 1,385 DR, since mention is made of Berduskan dark, with a vintage of 1,385 DR. Berdusk is mentioned as being a city within Elturgard, post-Spellplague, in 1,479 DR, but asides for that, we know nothing- the city doesn't get any information, other than that it's there. Welcome to the 4e era of the Forgotten Realms. So, on that matter, you're on your own.

Also, can I fact check the drow. Is it true that some of the drow were "uncursed"? If so, what group would they be considered by 4th edition standards? The magic elves or the nature ones?

Thank you for all the responses. My primary concern is how much of Green Fields is governed by Elturgard? Its really my favorite area simply because of the pre-4th edition vagueness. It had a lot of potential without being devoid of details (pre-4th edition anyhow).

-For simplicity's sake, being that it's a Paladin realm, ruled by lawful individuals, I'd say that it's administered to like the rest of Elturgard. Ultimatley, though, it's up to you- there is no actual answer, as of now. You might want to ask Rich Baker in the Ask-The-Designer thread.

Also, can I fact check the drow. Is it true that some of the drow were "uncursed"? If so, what group would they be considered by 4th edition standards? The magic elves or the nature ones?

-Correct. This took place in the Lady Penitent trilogy. To make a long story short, two groups of Drow were "uncursed", and reverted to the forms of their ancestors, Dark Elves. Those two groups were the faithful of Eilistraee, and any Drow who had within him/her the untainted blood of Miyeritar, as opposed to the tainted blood of Ilythiir, the taint coming from Wendonai's "dalliances" with Dark Elves all those 10,000+ years ago. Using 4e rules, these Dark Elves would be reflected statistically as "Elves", being as that in AGHotR, Dark Elves were made into a "branch" of Green Elves.

Jul 14, 2009 23:27:00 Again, thank you very much for the reply. I just like doing some writing now and then but I like it to be in keeping with the current setting. I hope there can be a small corner of Elturgard or the Green Fields for my fan fiction heh.

Appearance wise, if they were of pure blood would they more resemble a half Dark Elf? Sorry to be so technical. Just an interesting question that sprang to mind.
