#1 niewojfan Dec 21, 2014 9:32:07	Looking for opinions...   IF someone were to write a FR novel that went out of the norm, and if WOTC were to publish it, how interested would you be in it?   Along the lines of less macho, more mind-expanding, gender bending, etc.  Of course still plenty of fighting and camaraderie and all the good stuff in WOTC and D&D, just a little more postmodern, still readable though.   Is there a place in FR for this?  Maybe it already exists... can anyone answer this?  I grew up reading FR and love the rich world.  I could try a standalone fantasy novel, but I'd rather set in FR.
#2 Mirtek Dec 22, 2014 3:28:39	I would read it. All in all completely indifferent about the topic. It would neither cause me to look forward to it, nor to dread reading it. I would just read it like any other FR novel.   However since WotC has currently slowed to pace of novel releases to a crawl with only 3-4 novels per year and reduced their team of writers to a mere three people (Salvatore, Greenwood, Evan) and not is not even working with the rest of their well etablished former authors, I don't really seeing them taking in a new writer.
#3 Faediira Dec 22, 2014 5:02:58	By the time they may start taking on new writers i'll probably have finished my novel. lol. From what i read in an article wizards of the coast said they were going into a new direction with a lot of the stuff they were going to write which includes some gender bending, a gay/lesbian character or two, and some other very interesting things. I'll read the books as long as its a good plot and a good character development. \If it can't keep my attention in the first chapter then i'm donating it to the local library so beware wotc this is your fan base speaking. \Wirte them well or i'm canning the books you write.

#7 Faediira Dec 28, 2014 14:41:24	awwww thanks Joeburgos for calling me young i really appreciated that hee hee and yes Caolin a good story is in order to keep a reader hooked. I can't tell you how many novels that were written by TSR and later WOTC that couldn't keep my attention longer than the first chapter which ended up getting donated to the local library.
#8 RalofTyr Jan 12, 2015 16:38:56	Are you an established writter and WotC have used your books before?  Because if not, WotC would probably not publish your works, no matter how clever, and work with a more experienced fantasy writter.  But there is nothing stopping you from changing up the world so it is one of your own creation and going from there. The events and story that takes place are your ideas; the world and any FR characters, are WotC's ideas. Change the setting and see what happens.
