| #1blackmasqueDec 07, 2008 23:16:51 | I was playing Icewind Dale and mentions were made of Rilauven, a Drow city. I checked one of my old 2e books and I saw that Rilauven is listed a a Drow city but nothing else. Since Icewind Dale isn't official is there anything official about Rilauven? |

That said, even though it is not canon, I used the information from the Icewind Dale games in Rilauven's entry in Elves of Faerûn. It is my opinion that including information that isn't canon is a better alternative than including an entry along the lines of "Rilauven is a Drow city that exists. Somewhere. And, stuff happened there. A few times. Maybe even more. Who really knows?". |

| #6lord_karsusDec 08, 2008 10:46:37 | -It is mentioned in Drow of the Underdark (The list on page 98), which was published in July of 1991. Icewind Dale was first released in June of 2000. |

| #11erevis_cale_dupDec 08, 2008 13:24:45 | :P Because I can, and will. ;) |
| #12zananDec 08, 2008 14:19:42 | The name is indeed mentioned in The Drow of the Underdark (not to be mixed up with the nearly-namesake book published in late 3,5E) and essentially, this is all info you would be able to get from the games ... straight from my LIST RILAUVEN (an official place, but data below is taken from the Icewind Dale II PC game) (There has been a change in rulership in Rilauven lately. Working alongside others, the Vhaeraunians managed to overthrow the government of the Priesthood of Lolth. Yet, they did not take over government, for the power now lies in the hands of a council, which consists of the leaders of Rilauven's Sorcere, Melee-Magthere, the Traders and the clergy. The Lolthite clergy has not been destroyed either.) House Despana Malavon Despana (md, ) Archmage of Sorcere Ginafae Despana (fd, ) sister of Malavon, turned into a drider and returned to drow later Ilmryn Despana (md, ) brother of Malavon, dead Malfeem Despana (md, ) son of Malavon, fmr. weapon master, dead House Arabani Viizra Arabani (fd, P of Vhaeraun / Lolth) a Masked Traitor of Vhaeraun (& Lolth), First Daughter Dizreth Arabani (...) Others: Khadresh Olonrae (md, P of Vhaeraun) The game took some ideas of Menzoberranzan, like giving the academy of wizards the same name. (fd/md = female drow, male drow, P = Priestess) |
