Jun 19, 2011 1:13:14 What source can I find more information on Sakkors Mythallar? I know Shadovar had to create one for the purpose of raising Sakkors from the bottom of the Sea of Fallen Stars but I'm looking for information on when and how.

It describes it as being rumble strewn across the bottom of the sea, so not only would the shades have had to make a new Mythallar for it, they would of had to put it all back together too. Seems to me like it would of been easier just to make a brand spankin new enclave.

And they mayhave had a psi Mythallar, but being that the Shades had to put in a new one I would immagine it to be more of a Shadow powered Mythallar, but I have not read any of those novels, so I dont know if they might offer up more insight into it.

THere is the Sea of Fallen Stars sourcebook I mentined, and the old Netheril boxset has some info on Sakkors of old.

Not much help though for moderen day Sakkors, being as the Shades basically rebuilt the whole damn thing, but still some interesting lore nontheless.

There are prior references to it in the previous trilogy ("The Erevis Cale Trilogy"), where Erevis Cale finds the remains of Sakkors and its Mythallar, which had become embeded into the forehead of a kraken.

I'm asking because one of my character's motivations is to uncover ancient Netheril secrets... which are made possible again with the death of Mystra, and return of Shade made that knowledge available again (although definitely not easily avaliable)

Yeah technically with Mystra's "death", the limits she placed on magic would be gone too, which means spells like Karsus's Avatar are now fair game! Of course you would probably need to be something like 40th level to even cast it.

Jun 21, 2011 20:37:15 True, level 29 dailies roughly correspond to 3.5 level 9 powers... considering Karsus Avatar was level 12 (and the only spell to have that level) level 40 seems like an apropriate approximation.

Well, I don't think it is THAT easy.
We touch upon the nature of mythallars in the LFR adventures we designed for Origins ( ADCP3-2 From Dawn Till Dusk and its prequel, PREQ3-1 Shrouded Visions).

Jul 09, 2011 19:53:58 The Shadovar didn't create a new one, the found the old one and made it work again, and then used it to raise Sakkors. The operation of the mythallar requires the expenditure of lives, however, as the krinth that can communicate with the source get burnt out by doing so.
