Apr 26, 2009 10:47:32 The FRCG has a map and tells what Sembia's area of influence is. There are no political maps for 4e (that I know of), unless they're fan made...

Also, Backdrop: Cormyr has a decent map which you can see the border between there and Sembia. Looking at the Dalelands in the FRCG will help as well.

In general, Sembia has grown significantly since 1375 DR, having taken control of 3 dales and having their hands in affairs on the southern part of the Dragon Coast (not sure if they control any cities there, seeing as Cormyr grabbed the ones willing to be annexed).

Sembia's only loss that I'm aware of is Daerlun, who joined with Cormyr following Shades taking of Sembia.

EDIT: Daerlun became a free city-state after Cormyr tried to annex it, so it was lost to Sembia, but is not a part of Cormyr.

EDIT edit: Urmlaspyr is also a free city-state...

It was part of the Truces they signed... Cormyr wanted the 'middle-ground' to be neutral at the least. In the case of Dearlun, the Shades built a huge wall around it when they still had control. Cormyr tried to be savvy and leech the city away from Sembia, but in the end they declared Independence. Cormyr accepted because it was better then it being in Sembian control.

For Urmlaspyr, they tried to rebel against Shade when the edict for Shar only worship came about. Shade laid the proverbial magic pimp-slap on the city (that still effects it to this day), but lost the city in the long run due to Cormyr. The nasties that were used still afflict the city (shadow creatures and darkness dimming the sun), but Cormyr has detachments of Purple Dragons in the city to help keep it free.

So they are not technically part of either Kingdom, but they do nominally fall under Cormyr's influence (if for no other reason then Cormyr is the only thing keeping Sembia from overunning them).

They are being maintained as a 'buffer zone'.

I can live with that (thats how I use my Allies in Risk).
