Shou - how do you pronounce it?

I've heard Sh-ow, with ow as in "how". I'm not sure where it comes from. I use the pinyin romanization and pronounce it "show", even though I know just because it's "Easterners" doesn't mean it's "Chinese."

Recently it's occurred to me that the that the right pronunciation is possibly "shoe", or Xu, if you were to use the pinyin romanization.

What's the intended pronounciation?

Jan 19, 2011 6:35:03 Well, doubtless background and language familiarities affect how we read it (or anything) the first time. For my part, I've always pronounced it "sho" like show business.
