Silly question: genasi blood

Okay, I know I am being ridiculous because there is no mechanical impact for this whatsoever and the lack of fluff on it seems to indicate that no one else even cares...but, I am just one of those kind of geeks who MUST have detail especially when it's something my character absolutely would know( genasi artificer who formerly worked for the Airspur City Morgue---yes I made that up on the fly, just assumed they DO have a morgue there, but used the Embalmer background in Character Builder---and decided she'd rather help living people as a healer).  SO---Are we just assuming they've got normal, plain red blood because they're assumed to be at least part human, or does the fact that they are also, officially, elemental creatures, make it different?  I mean, human skin color is only partly pigment and at least partly due to the blood beneath the skin, so with all these strange colors ( and energy lines that are at least often drawn in a way that makes them look like a window to what's inside), you might expect genasi to have something else in there---or maybe it shimmers or something.  Anyway, I know it's a frivolous and perhaps a bit morbid question but wondered if anyone else had thought it out.

havent heard anything official about the type of blood they have in any of the gaming products, but there was a Genasi character in the Restless Shore book and when she bled there were no descriptions that it was anything other than the general red blood we see in most humanoids.

Theyve never said that they would have different colored blood, but that does make sense. I see no reason why you couldnt say you had blue blood or green or what ever if you wanted. You could do alot fluff wise and explain it was being a part of your Elemental heritage, like having odd colored eyes or hair or skin tones or crazy colored blood. I could see Fire Genasi having luminescent blood or something. I would say the same type things could apply with Tieflings as well.

I have always considered that blood, freshly spilled, would carry some sign of the elemental nature overlaying a natural colour inherent to the genasi as a species. I felt a base colour was required as otherwise you immediately run into a problem with gensai with multiple manifestations or with Tempest genasi. Firesoul blood the is luminescent is a great idea! How about Earthsoul blood that "clots" either into rock or even crystal? Stormsoul blood that carries a small charge (just enough to make skin tingle when it comes into contact)? Watersoul blood that stirs lazily in pools or droplets as it sits where it was spilled, drawing into eddies or whirlpools that go nowhere before falling still?

Of course the effects would fade and die as the blood cools and dies.

I like the idea though! Especially since I am starting a new genasi character in 2 days.

You should write something up.  I don't think it's a lack of caring on the part of the writers.

Thanks!  I like those suggestions, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that way.  I was just totally drawing a blank on it and it bugged me.  Maybe one of the Realms writers will pick it up, it'd be nice to see more of the genasi, they are rapidly becoming my favorite race.
