It's completely confusing. I can't even find half the threads I was reading just two hours ago. We should just simply pass to The Realms Vault boards and come here only to read the author's thread, at least those are better organized.

-Pretty much. When I logged on there was still a seperate 4E FR Forums. Then presto chango ala-ka-shamz its all one FR Forums. So the Question is when is the change going to take place for the Eberron Forums?

Ok, if this is to be the "Forgotten realms General" board, is it planned to have FR boards that aren't general?

Consider how the fans of the other worlds besides Forgotten Realms & Eberron feel. We have one board for our world, they have 1 Board for all of their worlds combined, now that REALLY sucks.

I must also admit that I do not like this board structure either though.

There's a perfectly good set of separate boards for (I was going to say all, but it's not correct) many of the worlds TSR or WotC have published under the name "Other Roleplaying Worlds".

I'm not convinced the current arrangement is desirable, but until 4E material starts getting published I'm not sure there's a sensible alternative. I hope it'll be the amount of traffic a board gets that determines whether it's split, although it may be a matter of waiting for the Campaign Setting to be out.

But there is no significant increase of Hard Disk use with more sub-boards, they are just a line in a database table. So I think they could've waited until 4ed was released to do this.

I think it may be a matter of getting it done now before they have a lot of new users. The only people they're upsetting with this are the existing users, and not all of them are too bothered (look in the character optimisation board for their views ). If they get a lot of new users with 4th Edition, then altering the boards after they join would be a bad idea. I've been involved in running a few forums and bulletin boards, and you don't want to be making big changes when there's an influx of new users.

Goodbye.

I said that this move would be it for me, and it is. I've considered all the people I've met here friends, even the ones I fought with a lot (if you can't argue with your friends, who can you with?)

@Rinon- See you at CK

@Alediran, LK - see you over at the Vault

@Rich Baker - Sorry I gave you so much crap. You placed yourself in the un-enviable position of "4e Spokesman", and took a ton of heat for it, mostly undeserved. Markustay must be stopped... and now I have, as promised.

To all the "Regional Administrators" working on LFR - Fight the good fight. ;)
(And maybe I'll see you at EnWorld)

To everyone else, including those of you from the 4e boards I never got to know, I wish you the best of luck. Have fun playing 4e - I mean that. Its not for me, and I don't want to hangout here spoiling it for everyone else.

Enjoy --- Mark T.

People don't like change.

There are other forums with the same amount of traffic and no problems whatsoever.

Why did FR have its own sub-forum for combat and equipment? What about the ridiculous overlap between the people & places forum and FR general?

It's different now, yeah, but it works just fine, and it's worked fine in other very similar places.

For over a year now, Candlekeep has been experiencing technical problems of the sort that include the now infamous "ASP Scripting Errors."

I just like to remind most of the scribes here that we're attempting to deal with the issue. In fact, we're hopeful that the upgrade to Forum 2 software [later this year] for Candlekeep will eliminate most, if not all, of the problems we've currently been experiencing.

Until then, we ask you to remain patient.

I'd like to see at least a campaignrunning forum orientated to DM's and story, and a more general player oriented one on fearunspecifics. Perhaps if the traffic to this part of the forum becomes bloated this will happen reactively.

That's exactly the separations I made in The Realms Vault, for FR discussions I made 3 boards: General, Magic & Gods, People & Places.

And I'll use this oportunity to announce the creation of a Campaign Blog board, a place to post your adventure's story.
