I check the Dragon Insider online every day for it.

I can't wait to see who the new gods are.

But it's really getting me nail biting.

I am.

They said last month it would appear this month. So it is either appearing in the next two weeks or will be push back to May. Let's keep an eye on it.

I am not too anxious for it. If I need a god to be there then so be it. I like Mask. If they kill him off then oh well, I will still have him in my Realms.

I am looking forward to this particular article very much.

-I didn't even know we were supposed to be waiting for such a thing. It's confirmed that there will be an article to that effect released sometime soon?

Can't say I care at this point... I'm beyond caring about 4e Realms as anything other than a source of amusement.

I thought it was.

Didn't Richard say that the Gods would be Article 3#?

From Rich Baker on The one and only "Ask the Realms authors/designers thread" 3, message 3142, 03-06-08, page 105:

I'm going to duck this one for the moment, because I expect we'll preview the deities in a month or two.

Ok. I am curious if they do things in Pantheon form. I just don't care who makes it. ;)

Thats an attitude I wish I could have, but when they take something that I like away for no good reason (such as if they kill off mask on you) it will still tick me off. I know I could still have mask in my campaign but I will get no future supplement/novel/info on the deity and for no good reason. I wish I could just let it roll off my back.

-I am fairly sure we are past three articles pertaining to the entire 'Countdown to the Realms' schpiel. There are four, if I am not mistaken: "The Moonshaes", "The Year of the Ageless One", "The Wailing Years", and "Magic in the Realms".

I didn't consider the Moonshaes part of that.

But you're correct, that would make it 4#

The Moonshae article was the last of the 3.5 FR articles as far as I'm aware. Everything else forward will target the new 4E timeframe.

I started playing a little in Eberron the last year and a half and it made me realize I did not need published material to run or play in a good game. I just need a basic outline and then I just make it my own. That is how I feel about rpgs now. Canon material to me is just a suggestion now.

I think everyone is supposed to view it that way Rauric. My own realms is very different from canon. However, I consider FR an old friend and want to know what she's been up to recently.

I'm interested mainly out of morbid curiosity.

-That's the thing that certain people (in the general sense of the word, and not anyone specifically) fail to take into account. Yes, in your campaign, you can diverge as much or as little as you want from the canon Forgotten Realms. But, the canon Forgotten Realms are the only basis for comparison and contrast that we all have. It is what unites all of us.

Great point, LK. And what is "canon" affects what stories WotC will publish, although that may not matter to someone who doesn't read them.

If I'd love more stories about character X, I'm out of luck if WotC has killed X off and doesn't want to focus any stories about the past.

Yes.

Let's face it, even if I disagree with the crowd she'd been hanging out with lately and the new look, 4E Realms is still her to me. Others might break up because they can't stand the new kind of music she's listening to or they feel a little betrayed because she's a bit trampy in that outfit.

But I just can't make that leap. I'll stick by her.

Well let's face it, I might have been responsible for this new look and attitude. We haven't exactly been monogamous, the two of us. Sure, 3rd Edition was great when she kicked the habit of being all goody goodey and gained a little edge with a Zhentariam that doesn't suck and coherent continuity.

But I won't lie to you, me and the younger sister of the World of Darkness over at white wolf had some interesting times together.

Plus, despite the fact that everyone of her friends was saying that it sucked, I really *WAS* hanging out with that sexy Eberron gal. She did things that well....

We'll just leave it at that. I'd been feeling unsatisfied.

Well, the FR was never supposed to be "all goody goody."

They didn't let her out past 9.

I would sneak into her window after nine... and share her sister. :P

I'm such an RPG 'Gigilo'.

Anyhow, looking over the title of this thread, I can't help but be amused.

"Anxious", as in a Death-Row inmate awaiting execution 'anxious'? ;)
