Socio-Economic Based Skill in the Realms

May 03, 2009 22:51:27 The last time I ran a campaign in the Realms I remember allowing the players to use a set of skills based on the Socio-Economic class that they belonged to, i.e. lower, middle, and upper, but I can't for the life of me find them again. Anyone know which supplement they are in, and maybe a page number?

-Third edition is all I know, in terms of rules. In the Player's Handbook II, there were rules for organizations, and having influence with certain people because of membership in different organizations/guilds/whatever...That it, maybe?

May 04, 2009 20:06:10 I'm almost positive it was one of the Forgotten Realms supplements, but whether it was 3.0 or 3.5, I'm not sure.

May 04, 2009 23:22:05 -If it has to do with economics, and was definitely in a Forgotten Realms book, Powers of Faerûn is the most likeliest culprit.

May 05, 2009 6:37:00 Sounds a bit like a house rule to me... I don't recall ever seeing anything like that in a Realms product, though I'd agree with LK that Power of Faerun would be the most likely place for it, though I don't recall anything revolving around skills for socio-economic classes. Might have been something over at candlekeep.com perhaps, maybe one of their netbooks, or an article hosted over there.

Failing that, I think, IIRC, there might've been a snippet or so in DMG II (3.5) concerning socio-economics, namely, the peasantry to merchants, gentry, nobility, and royalty and the fallout w/ it; likely class skills to reflect social standing or birth, things like that.
