I just had a crazy thought how well do you suppose a Spellscared Barbarian would work. I think it could look pretty cool I mean make the scars look like tribal scaring for flavor and have them flare up and have strange effects (Spell scar powers) when he's enraged. I think it could be pretty awesome but will the mechanics of it work?

Depends on what power(s) you are looking at.

Several Spellscarred powers use strength as their primary attribute. There's no reason it shouldn't work.

And, as you said, it sounds awesome. What more reason do you need? :D

Here's a bit of background for my Spellscarred Barbarian.

Note: My character in the Scales of War Adventure Path my group is running recently died. He was a Watersoul Genasi Swordmage.

Sha-karn Darkstream, Spellscarred Earthsoul Genasi Barbarian
Several years ago, the Spellplague had a dramatic effect on the town of Garashka, in the region of High Imaskar. The town was small and was never marked on any maps of the region. However, it was the hometown of the Darkstream family, a family of Genasi.

When the Plague hit, it was strong enough to kill off most of townspeople, however two of the Darkstream family survived. One was a Swordmage-in-training named Eddiro, named as he was born Watersoul. The other was his older Earthsoul brother, Sha-karn. At the time the Plague hit, the brothers were both training in other areas. Both brothers were also hit by the plague during their training. Anyone in that region also gain a strange arcane link between the other survivors. Each survivor feels the pain of the others.

Eddiro did not gain a spellscar and suffered amnesia, his older brother was severely affected by the plague, his spellscar is across his entire body and shows through his energy lines. Eddiro did not know that Sha-karn survived. For several years, Sha-karn has been exploring Toril in hopes of finding any surviving family members, one of which he knows is his younger brother.

Last night, Sha-karn felt an extreme pain whilst exploring the borders of High Imaskar. He also heard the words "Red Hand" being called out in his mind. It was at this moment that he knew that his brother has died as the link was all but lost. Sha-karn knows the direction the pain was coming from and is headed to Skull Gorge to discover the details of his brother's deaths.

Whenever Sha-karn goes into a Rage, his energy lines light up with blue flame, clearly showing that he has a spellscar.
