| #1RUMPLESTIXSep 10, 2008 19:47:00 | Since Wizards doesn't seem to be putting out new work as fast as I would like for 4th edition, I decided to go way back to the gold box games: The Pool of Radiance (original version), Curse of the Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silver Blades, and Pools of Darkness. I'll start out with a question I believe was in Curse of the Azure Bonds. If anyone remembers the games, what was your strategy for defeating the Mulmaster Beholder Core? (Core or Corp?) |

| #3RUMPLESTIXSep 10, 2008 20:20:40 | My friends and I played it on a 286 in the early 80s. So, yes, it ran on dos. There was a way to cheat by adding and removing party characters and I think rebooting that you could use to duplicate magic items. What we did was duplicate some dust of disappearance we had found. By becoming invisible and staying invisible, the beholders (about 15 or 20 of them) could not target us and we could slowly whittle them down for mucho experience. |

But, by multplying the magic item, you could reapply it and even carry it with you into the next game: The Secret of the Silver Blades. It was in a glacier type area, but I can't remember exactly where. |
