Starting a 4e Realms Campaign

Okay, so I had started a 4e campaign using the default setting but with the early release of LFR material my group has decided to play in the new Realms. We had just started the Kobold Hall adventure in the 4e DMG and from there where going to take on H1. I have the suggested Realms conversion from Dragon and that seems pretty straight forward but when I got their suggestion for changing the Kobold Hall to Scalegloom Hall, I found it doesn't really fit as well. In their suggestion they have moved the local of the "Hall" far away from where they suggest Winterhaven be located. As written the two, no longer really flow together IMO.

So that leaves me with finding a better way to integrate the two, and to that end I was thinking of keeping the starting town as Highmoon (instead of Fallcrest, as suggested in Dragon) but putting the "Scalegloom Hall" in the corner of forest that abuts the road from Highmoon heading into the Thunder Peak Mts.

The other option I was thinking of was to put the starting city as Wheloon and put Scalegloom Hall along the outskirts of the Vast Swamp (while still keeping Winterhaven in the Thunder Peaks.).

So I'm looking for peoples thoughts/suggestions/other options, etc...

There's a dragon conversion for the Kobald Hall adventure?

-No. Scalegloom hall was/is the D&DEXP Module that was run at the end of last Feb. I say make Scalegloom and Kobold Hall the same. Put if where it would make sense in your game.

-Now there is a conversion to Keep on the Shadowfell for the Forgotten Realms. Eberron too. It also has some side-trek encounters. ;)

Yep, that's kind of where I got the info from. You can download it from the RPGA site if you have clearance to run events and it "converts" Kobold Hall to Scalegloom Hall. It basically is just a description of where the hall is located and rewritten "getting started" text. I don't think I'm allowed to completely post the rewritten text here but I feel comfortable saying that in the document they suggest to locate the "Hall" around the Cloak Wood.

Yeah, that their thought. I don't think it fits though, IMHO.

-Being as that this thread is about running a campaign, I will be having it moved to the 'Running the Realms' section, where such threads belong.

Okay but I thought that section said it was for discussing game mechanics???

This seems more like a fluff/background discussion to me. No worries....

I just think it's cool that the glowing green skull dudes are talking to each other.

-It's about running a Forgotten Realms campaign, specifically, so...

I just think it's cool that the glowing green skull dudes are talking to each other.

;)

-And, they are two different glowing green skulls. What are the odds? That's almost as "bad" as the image of...Phaeraun, I believe it was, with one background in dark purple, and the other in light purple/blue-almost.

Oh ya, that was me;) , back when I used Phaerun as my avatar and I was on my half-vampire thread here on the Realms boards... Forget the other guy's user though...

I can't believe you still remember that, Lord Karsus.

Well, that thread is still here on the last page. Maybe it should be moved to Running the Realms? Or maybe it should be deleted? Wait... don't delete it... I still look back on it to laugh:D

-There is a backlog of stuff that the VCL has to do. I have a whole bunch of things that need to be moved. Some are already in the process of being moved, and others aren't. I don't want to submit new things to be moved until the old ones are actually taken care of.

Gotcha.
