I am new to the Forgotten Realms and have a couple of questions regarding Eveningstar and its surroundings. I am gonna DM Beneath Haunted Halls this Friday and Saturday for Weekend in the Realms, and I thought I'd try to learn a bit about the area in an effort to make it more fun.
Eveningstar seems to have remained untouched by the Spellplague. Beneath Haunted Halls says, "Fey are known to inhabit the King's Forest, and the people of Eveningstar, to the forest's north, believe the strange creatures have spread across the countryside."
I have the old AD&D 2nd Edition adventure FRG1 Haunted Halls of Eveningstar. It calls the Storm Horns the Stonecliffs and says there is a gorge cutting through the mountains and that the Starwater River passes through this gorge from the Stonelands. The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting has the Storm Horns called just that, and there is no break in them. Was their a purposeful change between the editions?
Last, was their a supplement detailing Cormyr in 3rd Edition? There seemed to be a lot of Forgotten Realms books during 3E, I hope one had a healthy section on Cormyr and its surroundings.

Despite many a call for it, no formal 3E sourcebook for Cormyr was ever produced.
WotC did release the adventures Into the Dragon's Lair (which touches on Eveningstar) and Cormyr: Tearing of the Weave (which provides only a brief update of southeastern Cormyr).
I hate to admit it but I don’t own a copy of Haunted Halls, so I can’t speak authoritatively regarding the Stone Cliffs entry.
Note the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting did a lot of squishing together in terms of the map (to make it all fit on one map poster).
Most of us just assume what’s not visible on the FRCS map is still there.
So having to guess, I’d say that the gorge is still there (maybe the gorge is the Stone Cliffs?), with the Starwater flowing out from it within the greater Storm Horns.
Just out of curiosity, what era are you running the adventure in?

And yes, Beneath Haunted Halls is a 4E adventure I am DMing for the RPGA's Weekend in the Realms. So, it is set in the current year, 1479 DR.

D'oh! I should have figured out that acronym - thanks. And what a great map. I wondered where the Goblin Marches were, and that helpful map settled it for me.

No change, you're misinterpreting FRQ1. The Stonecliff (singular) is an escarpment that runs far south of the Storm Horns and separates the Cormyrean lowlands from the Stonelands, which exist on both sides of the Storm Horns. Starwater Gorge doesn't cut through the Storm Horns, it begins in the Stonelands south of them.
Thanks for the replies, fellas. And can I just say, "Wow!" I am surprised that Wizards of the Coast did not start their line of 3rd Edition Forgotten Realms books with a Cormyr/Sembia product.
Not least because Wizards singled out Cormyr, the Dales and the Sword Coast North as the most popular regions in the promotional Dragon articles that heralded the 2001 FRCS.
