| #1Tech-PriestAug 27, 2011 12:26:10 | I'm looking for info on anything about the Sword Coast region of FR. Waterdeep is covered (I'll adapt stuff from the 3.5 City of Splendors for this) I really need info on Luskan, Neverwinter (I plan on getting the NWCG soon, but any info helps for now), and anywhere else along the Sword Coast (like Baldur's Gate and similar big cities) |

Also, check out these threads: WotC Waterdeep thread and Candlekeep Waterdeep thread. Neverwinter: Generally speaking, Neverwinter was mostly destroyed around thirty years ago in the novel Gauntlgrym, but in recent years it's got an infusion of support, mostly from Lord Dagult Neverember (Open Lord of Waterdeep), who has moved in with an army of Mintarn mercenaries and is working to pacify/rebuild the city. It is now a hotbed of intrigue, with numerous organizations (Thay, Netheril, the Sovereignty) taking an interest in the region for one reason or another. I think the NWCS will answer all your Neverwinter needs, but if you have any questions after acquiring it, consult the scribes here or drop me (one of the authors) an email anytime (erikscottdebie AT yahoo DOT com). Luskan is the setting of my next novel, SHADOWBANE, but generally it's a broke-down ruin of a city, ruled by gangs and thugs with no centralized structure of power. There are five captains (gang chiefs) as always before, though who exactly sits in one of these five thrones is always in flux. It's a den of scum and villainy, like a cross between Gangs of New York and Batman: No Man's Land (which is usually how I describe my novel). Generally, it's such an awful place to be that criminals are chased as far as the gates, but not inside, as the theory is they're worse off inside than facing anything Waterdeep or any of the other cities on the Sword Coast could muster. Cheers |
