| #1IluvrienOct 09, 2011 7:57:21 | I finally managed to get as far as the most recent Eye of the Realms Article (I usually read them on the day they come out), this one relates to Spellslayer wine. Well, technically it relates to the substance that when mixed with win makes it Spellslayer wine, for the covert supression of a Mage's Art. The article got me thinking, what methods have there been in use in the Realms to even the playing field, so to speak? We already had Mage Shackles for direct magic mitigation. And I remember Alustriel holding a meeting in a Dead Magic Zone to achieve much the same effect. And Halruaa's magic dead Jordaini were certainly a step in that direction. Were there others that people can remember? Just as a matter of interest of course. The blurb on the article gives enough of an idea about its function, the rest is (just) a rather good description of its discovery, preparation, effects and dangers as well as a couple of quite interesting conflicts (adventure hooks), so even those who don't have access to it (most of the people around here it seems) should feel free to pitch in. All responses appreciated! |

I suppose, technically, there were also several Elixirs that had a (slim) chance of messing with a spellcasters' abilities, though like with all things about elixirs, there wasn't anything truly certain with them. |
