Is there any template in any books that shows what the racial traits and such for the Ilythiiri (Drow before they went to the underdark) Forgive me if I use the wrong name or anything, pulling this all from memory and well that is a perfect place.

Well, I would imagine, unless changed for a specific campaign setting, that before heading to the Underdark, the future Drow were just standard vanilla High Elves...if not without somewhat of a mean streak I suppose.

I don't know about a template for that, but I think they would be different from just standard High Elves. They already had the red-white-and-black look before their descent. I think it would be something like this:

Ilythiiri Traits (Ex): These traits are in addition to the high elf traits, except where noted.
+2 Intelligence, +2 Charisma.
Darkvision out to 60 feet. This trait replaces the high elf ’s low-light vision.
+1 racial bonus on Will saves against spells and spell-like abilities.
Spell-Like Abilities: Ilythiiri can use the following spell-like ability once per day: dancing lights. Caster level equals the ilythiiri’s class levels.
Automatic Languages: Common, Elven.
Bonus Languages: Abyssal, Aquan, Draconic, Gnome, Goblin. This trait replaces the high elf’s bonus languages.
Favored Class: Wizard (male) or cleric (female). This trait replaces the high elf ’s favored class.
Level adjustment: +1.

No problem. I suppose you could try asking him if you could extrapolate the Ilythiir stats, though. There exists a race called the Drey which are basically Drow that have fallen even further. They can be found here, and yes, they appear in an official 3rd party book.

Can't be an evil race, I know too many restrictions. I wanted to be a Dark elf/Ilythiiri but before they became inherently evil, before they became Drow. Again thanks for all the help, I will keep looking but I don't believe they exist in any 3.0 or 3.5 book.

I recall the lesser drow from the back of some book, the Player's Guide to Faerun I believe. You could use that, or switch the elves low light vision out for darkvision at 60' and give them th drow blood trait.

That would be a very good idea. Half-Drow differ from Half-Elves in the same way, and Lesser Drow would also be a good idea.

Only choice I have, looked at every book and the Ilythiiri are a thing of the past and no longer exist, maybe they will appear in 4th edition :P

Ilythiir was the name given to Drow before the fall in faerun. They don't have stats as they are indeed extinct.
Those Ilythiiri Traits are very similar to the traits I made for a Half-Drow(but 100% Elven) Race for a character who was the daughter of a high elf and a drow.

Half drow is a good idea and will have to go with that

Possible Spoiler for book readers
Without ruining any book plots or endings for you I just have to say the Ilythiiri are no longer extinct. When I found that out it was the main reason I wanted to be one since I know our DM is going to send us to the underdark and I thought that would be perfect irony.

Which book did you find that in?

Again Spoiler for book readers, if you are reading any of the Drow books do not look!!!

if you like reading the Drow stories and already read the War of the Spider Queen (First Three books Second Three books)
It Ends with The Lady Penitent Series and that is the series that the Ilythiiri are reborn, or converted back.

My Half-Drow/Moon elf character was rather interesting, she was named Ilivarrra Silvermoon. She was the child of a previous 3.0 character of mine a Elven Monk named Zathress Silvermoon who married a Drow woman who called herself Daria,(having abandoned her drow name).

She was chaotic good and was often rebelling against her fathers very LG upbringing. Zathress was more or less superman in his lawful goodness. However try as she might she'd always end up doing the right thing no matter how painful it was for her.

-This thread belongs in Running the Realms. I'll have it moved there.

-Anyway, the Ilythiiri were Dark Elves. Dark Elves are a branch of Green Elves. Thus, Dark Elves would have the (3e) "Wild Elf" stats, or the (4e) "Elf" stats.

That may be so, but Dark Elves have +2 Int, whilst Wild Elves have -2 Int. Seems counter to the point to me.

I would give them moon elf traits, including the age categories.

Canon or not, dark elves being green elves, effectively, is crap.

-Faerûnian Dark Elves, again, are Green/"Wild" Elves. They never had stats.

-Agreed. I don't like it any more than you. That said, it is what it is.

Just because your character is drow doesn't mean he has to be evil either.

The dark elves of days gone by have never been statted or the like, not in AD&D, nor 3E nor 3,5E. No reason, since they were essentially gone 12,000 years ago.

If anything, the dark elves (statwise) would not be far off from the sun elves as described in the 3E FRCS. The "green elf" stuff is "interesting" lore these days, but as opposed to other "green" elves, the dark elves of Faerûn quickly adopted sun elven ways of living and developement. So one can try to strike a deal with "evolution beyond Toril" and changes on Toril. In any case, the Ilythiiri and other dark elves on Faerûn have hardly ever been like the wood or wild elves we have known. At least with regards to the sourcebooks.

-Dark Elves, before the transformation into Drow, weren't inherently evil. On the individual basis, they varied, some being good, some being neutral, and some being evil. On the more grand, world-wide basis, the race was evil, as the predominant Dark Elf government was evil.
