| #1cigaretteAug 16, 2010 16:31:34 | Hope this is the right forum for this.. So, Velsharoon is toast, saddening to say the least. But who has risen to take his place in 4e? Tam never achieved Godhood... Help anybody? |
| #2sfdragonAug 16, 2010 19:26:15 | no god of magic outside of Our LAdy of Mysteries. azuth is dead mystra is somewhere S, is well missing or dead V died on the material plane, dead and gone. |
| #3Dragon9Aug 16, 2010 21:32:54 | About the only big name in Necromancy left is Orcus, and he isn't a deity. |
| #4The_SilverswordAug 16, 2010 22:52:08 | Shar! |
| #5sfdragonAug 16, 2010 23:24:39 | Shar! not quite, she is the goddess of nothing and everything. both at once and neither at the same time. quite a conundrum isn't it |
| #6The_SilverswordAug 16, 2010 23:54:54 | Shar! She has ties to the Shadowfell, and the Undeath Domain, if that doesnt scream Necromancer Deity, I dont know what does! |
| #7gomeztooAug 17, 2010 4:51:43 | I don't think there is a necromancer deity, but the ones most necromancers will flock to are, I believe, Shar and Cyric. Depending on how suicidal or insane you are, of course. Talona may also grab some. Rotting zombies must appeal to her... |
| #8DiffanAug 17, 2010 11:01:10 | I could see a few "white" necromancers flock to Jergal and possibly Kelemvore IF they use their powers for protection and gain concent from the families of those bodies they wish to re-animate. In my campaings, I've included the Raven Queen to inhabit a bit of Kelmevore's realm and protect different borders of the Shadowfell so Shar and Co. don't try to expand that plane. And she's Kelemvore's consort to boot. |

| #11cigaretteAug 18, 2010 13:22:46 | In my campaings, I've included the Raven Queen to inhabit a bit of Kelmevore's realm and protect different borders of the Shadowfell so Shar and Co. don't try to expand that plane. And she's Kelemvore's consort to boot. Wait, really?! That would be honestly exciting ![]() Thank you so much, everyone, for all the input! As far as Shar goes, I am not a huge fan, while I cannot deny her ties to the Shadowfell and thus Necromancy, I have already used her in my setting for the Shadovar. I was thinking of using Vecna, even though he doesn't belong in FR. Would this be bad? They have given him some fluff with Open Grave, and the Incunabulum (ms?) described in the Underdark, I am intrigued. Yet, I don't want to be throwing completely left field dieties into my Realms. If someone can confirm what Jorunhast has said about the Raven Queen, I am so putting her into Kelemvor's service. Someone mentioned 'white' necromancers working with Jergal or Kelemvor, I like this idea and have though of this concept for a necromancer of my own, once the Shadow Power Source is out, but I intended to ask about the badies in the caves with those stinky zombies ![]() Anyone more input? |
| #12JorunhastAug 18, 2010 14:32:59 | It's completely and totally true*. I never lie or exaggerate anything. Ask anyone here. Show *Except for this, it's not. Raven Queen is a "core" deity. I think it's a fun idea but it's not in any book or novel. I just thought of it. ;) Kiaransalee is "dead" supposedly because of a novel event that magically made everyone forget about her. But she didn't technically get killed. |
| #1318DELTAAug 18, 2010 17:53:14 | I like that. Have her re-fluff herself. ![]() |
| #14gomeztooAug 19, 2010 1:55:10 | Hey, I have dibs on Kiri! |
| #15The_SilverswordAug 19, 2010 2:38:11 | My moneys still on Shar, shes the only 4e god in the Realms who officially has the Undeath domain. Of course if you want to hombrew, or bring in PoL or other deities, more power to ya! |
| #16Dragon9Aug 19, 2010 8:22:20 | She may officially have that Domain, but it's not her "schtick." It's not part of her portfolio. I dont' even know why they gave her the Undeath domain except that she's eeeeevil. ![]() |
| #17Doombringer_of_HoarAug 28, 2010 17:22:57 | If your Necromancer is out for revenge, Hoar could work out nicely. He does have an association with undead through revenants and cursts. |
