Streetwise (Ex) Soluafein gains a +2 competence bonus on Gather Information and Knowledge (local) checks. Height: 4’11” (1.5 meters) Weight: 110 lbs (49.9 kilograms) Eyes: Amber Hair: White Skin: Dark Grey Age: 143 Personality: Soluafein is dour and taciturn, grimly accepting his lot and fate in life, realizing that he is an unnatural creature on the surface and unable to return to his home in the Underdark. This has bred a degree of fatalism in the drow; Soluafein realizes his worth in the world above is in his ability to wield a sword and he is resigned to it. In turn, Soluafein is merciless in combat; he gives no quarter and asks for none. As for comrades, Soluafein has few (friend is a term that has little or no meaning in the drow’s life) with his world being shaped by surface beings every bit as murderous and backstabbing as his kin, those few he has chosen to call comrade have earned mutual respect from the drow for their own prowess and ability to survive. Under the somber veneer of the ruthless warrior and callous survivor is a drow elf truly wanting to find acceptance in what has now become his home (even if Soluafein stubbornly refuses to accept it as such) and experience the solace and serenity that seem to pervade the lives of so many around him. However his own grim resignation has left him tinged with jealousy and hopelessness at ever finding such peace forging the brutal emotional armor Soluafein uses to protect himself from the ravages of the world at large. History: Soluafein Helviiryn was born during the winter of DR 1229 (Year of the Carrion Crow) in the drow hold of Ched Nasad to the minor noble house of Helviiryn to Matron Eleale Hai’Kaz Helviiryn and an unknown sire. Like so many of his race, Soluafein fell prey to the petty schemes of his kin forcing the drow to leave his home and escape his accusers. Used to a life of privilege (even if he was a male), Soluafein found the world at large to be much different from the life he had known as a scion of House Helviiryn. At first, he escaped to the slums of Ched Nasad, learning to survive among the wretches and outcasts of his home using the basic fighting skills he had been taught as a member of his house, Soluafein realized however that the slums of Ched Nasad were no safe place from the long arms of his family and had no desire to live in the squalor and decrepitude of the lowest district in his city. Bartering his skills in return for passage out of the city, the young tough assumed the role of a mercenary, more often than not playing the role of a caravan guard or enforcer as well as occasionally engaging in darker roles. Life on the road proved better than the squalid existence he had scratched out in the slums of his home, however always lurking in the background was the specter of his family, always finding the drow no matter what distance he put between himself and his old home. Driving Soluafein, further and further away, the warrior would eventually make his way to T’lindhet in the south and it was here that Soluafein would be forced to escape to the surface in an attempt to finally be free of House Helviiryn. Driven to the surface, Soluafein once again fled into the slums and back alleys in the worst places of civilization in order to survive. However, even this place offered little peace as the drow was seen little more than a monster and driven from the cities of man into the wilderness where he would run afoul of his surface kin who showed even less mercy. A reaver and a slayer, Soluafein’s very existence had honed the warrior into a deadly weapon and taught the drow that there would be no peace for him, only the hard existence of a person’s worth who was measured by how well they could wield a blade. Despite, the disadvantage of his race, Soluafein would once again find his place in the world, occasionally as a mercenary, but more often that not as an adventurer. ![]() |

| #6karsus_the_madDec 17, 2006 12:59:19 | Name: Azrêal of Lantan, the "Clockwork Wizard" Azrêal was born Dalro Marinus in 1301 DR on the island realm of Lantan to a wealthy merchant family. Growing up amongst the rich afforded the young Dalro with an excellent education. Upon the completion of his coming of age ceremony, Dalro set off to mainland Faerun and travelled far and wide, learning the secrets of wizardry, a practice his family disdained. Over the years his fascination with magic waned, and he became homesick for the familiar sounds of the workshops in Sambar. Dalro finally returned home to take over the family trading business when his father became ill. During this period Dalro became fascinated with the mechanical wonders of the nearby High House of Gond. After several months of day long visits studying the strange devices on display, Dalro approached one of the priests with his own primitive gadget. The priest wasn't impressed with the device itself but was deeply touched at the devotion Dalro had shown to the craft, which he had been privately watching the young man for the past months, purposely having various devices displayed that would catch the young Dalro's attention. After several more months of offering friendly advice and subtly providing various details on the secrets behind many of the temples greatest wonders, Dalro was offered the chance to join the High House as an apprenticed inventor, in which he eagerly accepted. During this time his father became increasingly more ill. Dalro searched for a cure, using both his magical knowledge and the knowledge he was learning in the High House. Even the priests of the temple were confused as to why the illness resisted all their attempts to cure it. Despite his magical knowledge, and vast family fortune, he was unable to find a cure for the affliction that would soon take his fathers life. In his grief Dalro closed himself away, mentally, from the rest of his family and collegues, becoming more and more like the clockwork machines he built. Dalro took his work at the High House to even further extremes, pushing the development of his craft beyond even the master crafters and producing many of the prototypes that would eventually become signature inventions of the Gondar. Dalro, feeling the constraints of the Gondar clergy as being an impediment to his craft, eventually left on strained, but neutral grounds. He handed over the family's trading coster (which during the intervening years after his fathers death had fallen on financial difficulties) to Glarl, the gnome priest that first opened the wonders of Gond to him, and who would later become his steward. With arrangements to ensure the rest of his family would be well taken care of, Dalro adopted the name Azrêal and once again left Lantan to wander Faerun. He traveled from one craft house to another, methodologically absorbing every crafting secret and invention they had to offer into his own repertoire of skills. The Time of Troubles saw nothing of Azrêal, who had seemingly disappeared from the face of Faerun years before. Those closest to him tend to whisper of unknown lands that Azrêal explored, uncovering strange artifacts and wonders previously never seen before. In fact Azrêal spent several years prior to the Time of Troubles traveling Kara-Tur, studying the exotic crafts of that far away land, and even spent a few years exploring the legendary continent to the south east of Shou Lung. Azrêal returned for a second time to Lantan in 1368 DR much changed, and having aged not a day since his departure nearly two decades before. Azrêal had discovered the ruins of a lost city and within a spired tower seemingly made from pure crystal, he uncovered an amethyst covered tome, in which the pages were sheets of woven crystal. Upon the pages were etched many secrets, both arcane and mundane. Some of the secrets deciphered by Azrêal were of crafting intelligent items that become part of the creator, augmenting him in ways not possible with standard magic and of how to harness the rare magical essence of starmetal, which seemed to have been the foundation of the lost civilizations way of life, their magic, and even their beliefs and was used to focus continent spanning leylines to two specific locations, presumably the two most important cities. This is the tome that Azrêal utilized in the crafting of his Azrêal's core. While away, the family trading coster had grown wealthy under Glarls management and Azrêal suddenly found himself immensely wealthy, but also with only one surviving family member: his sister Dorah, who had aged much from the young lass Azrêal left behind to an old and bitter crone. Having little interest in business, and less interest in his sister, he left the day to day running of the coster (which by this time had become known as Lantan Industries and included numerous warehouses located throughout Lantan, Calimshan, the Sword Coast, and Waterdeep, caravan sponsorships, foundries, and a fleet of over three dozen sailing ships) to Glarl, whom he made Steward of Lantan Industries and caretaker of his estate (including a spiteful Dorah). Azrêal used his wealth to found the Arcane Brotherhood of Engineering, a society dedicated to Gond and the advancement of the Craft. |
| #7lord_karsusDec 17, 2006 19:03:04 | Name: Daerian Sunstar, Loremaster of her Majesty, Queen Amlauril of Evermeet Daerian Sunstar spent the better portion of his life wandering Toril, and even though he is getting on in age, he still retains some of his youthful vigor. He stands tall and proud, though sometimes he does have to rely on his walking staff. His raven black hair has a few streaks of gray, and is usually pulled into a tight ponytail on the back of his head. His Green eyes are a stunning contrast to his coppery skin. He has developed a few wrinkles around his face, but they give Daerian a refined, cultured look- especially when he is wearing the fine clothing that he has fancied since settling down on Evermeet. Daerian was born to Kolvar and Sharlyana Sunstar, both of whom have since passed on to Arvandor. Daerian had a voracious appetite for books as he was growing up. It made little difference to him what he read; Poetry, fiction, historical texts- he read them all. As a young adult, Daerian made the difficult choice of leaving Evermeet. Entranced by all of the books he had read in his youth, Daerian wanted to travel all across Toril. Wanderlust must run in the Sunstar blood, as Daerian’s own uncle, Jander, had once done the same. After a brief apprenticeship at the Towers of the Sun and Moon, he received the blessings of his family, and left Evermeet in DR 1072. He was given a spot on board the vessel The Queen’s Pride, which was bound for the then small city of Waterdeep. Daerian spent much of his time exploring the ancient ruins left behind by the Fair Folk who had once lived on Faerûn. Many times, he accompanied other adventurers while delving into ruins and crypts. Mostly, however, he traveled alone. It was not that he was without friends while on Faerûn. It is quite the opposite, actually. Daerian made many acquaintances and many friends while on the mainland. Though most have perished, the Loremaster still keeps in communication with one Elminster, Sage of Shadowdale. After nearly a quarter of a millennium, Daerian decided to return home, to the Green Isle. Before he returned to Evermeet, Daerian had two residences- one in the Elven bastion of Evereska, and one in the “Mythal”-clad city of Silverymoon. Daerian has spent countless hours debating Lady Alustriel of Silverymoon, as to whether or not the wards surrounding her city was actually a Mythal or not. The Lady of Silverymoon believes it to be, while Daerian politely disagrees. Daerian’s plans greatly changed once he returned to Evermeet. He had planned to simply retire to the villa his family owned in Drelagara, and wait out his days until the final call to Arvandor would come and take him home. When he returned, in DR 1345, his plans vastly changed. After being summoned to the Palace of Queen Amlauril, the Queen of Evermeet, Daerian found himself apprenticed to Elasha Evanara, Amlauril’s chief librarian For almost thirty years now, Daerian has been working diligently in the library of Leuthilspar. He has written many tomes, including A Treatise of Bloodlines during the Crown Wars, A Study of the Elven Mindset on Silverymoon, and Concerning Cath Shee. Since being given the task of writing his tome about Elves on Faerûn, Daerian has been working diligently. His working title for the project is “Elves of Faerûn”. |
| #8merrikcaleDec 17, 2006 19:54:08 | Name: Captain Hoyer Locke Neverwinter. A new road has increased trade through its port from the Silver Marches and elsewhere. The port is booming and the thieves' guild has profited. That is, until the Captain of the Black Fury began taking control of smuggling operations in the port. The Pirates, also called the Furies, have strongarmed their way to a large peice of the action. Captain Locke's has a powerful crew that he places heavy reliance on. His consort is a shou mage. There is also Marans, the wereshark ranger, and Nwampan Tol, the brutal Chultan warrior. He also controls two smaller pirate ships. All of this control is obtained through magic provided by his superiors, Luskan and the Arcane Brotherhood, who are very interested in the destabilization of this growing city of the North. Now, Xillan and his thieves' guild are planning on fighting back, and are looking for allies of thier own, most notably, a Sharran cell. It seems a guild-pirate war is inevitable. |
| #9arnimthayerDec 17, 2006 22:24:33 | Name: Alsidar Alsidar is the present leader of a cell of the Eldreth Veluuthra based out of the Hullack Forest. His group watch over elven sites hidden within the forest, aggressively protecting them from what he refers to as "human vermin." Formerly the second in command of this cell, Alsidar has proven himself a surprisingly charismatic leader, gathering a following of like-minded elves to help him in his quest to drive the humans from the reaches of the Hullack. His group use a variety of tactics versus human settlers and travellers, such as summoned monsters or the use of goblin armament, in order to disquise the nature of their attacks. An uneasy truce with a druidic circle revering Malar (see Faiths and Pantheons) has lead to an increases in success, though only time will tell if it draws unwanted attention as well. |
| #10arnimthayerDec 17, 2006 22:41:04 | Name: Anahasara Anahasara acts as the loremaster of this latest incarnation of the Hullack forest cell of Eldreth Veluuthra. While she doesn't truly believe in the righteousness of the group's cause, she does agree that some ancient elven secrets should remain hidden from the humans, who are not ready for them yet. Her role as a Olin Gisiae is a secret she keeps from even Alsidar. The recent alliance with the Malarite druids of Hullack Circle has left her uneasy about serving the Hullack cell. If she could just find someone she could trust with the information without drawing to much human attention to the area... |

| #12frbrazilDec 18, 2006 16:19:09 | Name: Whertenna Strambilius History: Whertenna Strambilius was born in Mulptan, Rashemen, to a family of rich mercants. She was always trained to become one of the Wychlaran, but she never knew if it was what she really wanted. She never said she wanted it. Finally, she wasn't accepted, 'cos a high priestess of Mystra said that Werthenna was supposed to wander before she could join the other Witches of Rashemen. In fact, the high prietess of Mystra was revealed that during the period of time Werthenna would wander, she would gather power, important relics and artifacts that would prevent the Wychlaran from loosing the most important battle against Thay and Zulkir Szass Tam. However the priestess was never told when she would be back. So, Werthenna's family decided that she should wander through distant lands of Faerûn, and when she was 17 years old, her father sent her to Velprintalar, where she was supposed to take a boat to Hlondeth, and then head to Waterdeep or Silvermoon or any other large city of ocidental continent. That time, Werthena was carring only two items, a long sword and a ring of protection +2, but besides the fact she didn't know how use the sword, she almost couldn't stand its weight. In Velprintalar, Whertenna met Ostrock Nailo, an experient sailor and fighter, who brought her with him in a trip to Hlondeth, in his own boat. During the long and calm journey, they eventually fell in love, and once arrived in Hlondeth, Ostrock sold his boat 'cos in his plans, he wanted to live with Werthenna in the distant city of Mintar, his homeland. Werthenna accepted Ostrock invitation to live with him and both went to Mintar. They bought a house and together lived there for about a year, in which Werthenna could improve her magical capacity and her skills, however her heart never felt like at home, so they agreed to leave the city without destination and with only one objective, Werthenna wanted Ostrock to show her Faerûn. So, they beggan the long journey around Faerûn by the North, and Werthenna was shown Silvermoon, Waterdeep, the Great Desert of Anauroch, they fought a giant in the northern lands of what we know now as Silver Maches and then they went to the Dalelands. Visted virtually all little nations of Dalelands, had the chance hear some agradable greetting coming from Storm, of the Seven Sisters, but failed trying to attract Elminster's attention out of his well defended tower. After the long journey through North, they headed to the South and Werthenna was found fascinated by the rich cities of Calimport and Athkatla. But in DR 1370, when they were heading back to the North by the Wealdath, they were attacked by nine elvens, and Ostrock was "mortally" hurt, after the battle, and couldn't resist. Werthenna cried his death for a month, closed in a small room in Zazespur, where she decided to stay for some time. In Ches of DR 1370, Whertenna took a boat back to Waterdeep and bought a house there. But again, late in DR 1372, she couldn't stand the loneliness and went to Cormyr. There she met three young adventurers in a tavern and decided to join then in a journey to the Shining Plains. After that, Wherthenna found out a strange cave with some inscriptions in the Serpent Hills, and since DR 1372, Werthenna is investigating all the secrets of that hills with her friends. She found interesting items, but she's looking for a major artifact forgotten there for a long time. Personality: Somehow she's nice and was never seen talking loudly, but since Ostrock's death, Werthenna doesn't carry the old shining smile and seems to be sad all the times she sees the sea. She's quite difficult to describe, I'm sorry. Werthenna's Future: Werthenna is supposed to head back to Rashemen, but she will do it untill DR 1400. She'll magically preserve her body (not like a lich) and will keep looking for important artifacts, 'cos lately, the search for more power and more relics is what moves her, not 'cos she's ambicious, but 'cos it makes her occupied and leaves no space for memories of her past. To describe the best moment to make Werthenna get back to her homeland, I need Mr. Greenwood to come up with a massive attack of Thay against Rashemen. ---------- I'm sorry, but sometimes my English sounds so weird, and well, my vocabulary isn't large. Sorry. Hope you understand it. |
| #13rabiesbunnyDec 19, 2006 12:58:33 | Name: Aleena Redweth-Vel'dorn, (originally Nabea yr Omaa el Haesib) Nabea yr Omaa el Haesib* was born to Omaa and Kuleel Haesib in the Palace Ward of Calimport, an extremely wealthy area of the city, raised above the more common districts in a very literal sense. Nabea was the fourth child born to Kuleel and Omaa. Kuleel was a handsome if not aging man, and an extremely profitable slaver. He held connections across the southern part of Faerun, and even ran a few Taverns and Inns across the large city's poorer sections. Omaa was a rather young woman, nearly fifteen turns her husband's junior. She was a typical Calishite woman; dark haired, dark skinned, flirtatious, and she had an extensive wardrobe. It made Kuleel content that he was to have so many children. There was Abani, his only daughter until Nabea's birth and his first born, at ten turns. His two male heirs were, of course, the most cherished; young Killik at seven, and Taasin four at the time his new baby was born. What he saw in the Hin slave's arms mortified the man. His daughter was like any other newborn he had sired before...save for the pointed ears. Omaa was an overly boisterous woman who loved the attention, but it seemed to have backfired on the woman when her husband confronted her. She admitted upon being shown the 'evidence' that one of her liasons had been with an Elven merchant, one Kuleel himself had been dealing with in his business. In such a position of growing wealth and power, the man couldn't risk being shamed. That winter night, he decided that Omaa had given birth to a young boy, and he died soon after birth. In their 'generous' and 'grieving' state, they took in a girl born to a street wench, a half-elven newborn they named the foreign name "Aleena". Aleena was given to the women slaves of the house to raise, taught from a young age the life of a subserviant. As she grew and learned, she developed and intense hatred for her family, which continued to grow. They never so much as acknowledged her as their own flesh and blood. Her discipline and shame overrode these emotions however, and she learned her duties well; cooking, cleaning, caring for the birds, tailoring. At about ten** winters of age, Aleena was wandering the marketplace to purchase food for her 'family', when she befriended and interesting girl. She was even more dark-skinned than Aleena, appearing to have a black tinge to her skin, and her hair was a dull silver. The slave immediately recognized the elven features on the girl's face, named Sanensia, and thought she must be a drow-kin. Sanensia was clothed in a blue and white robe which she kept the hood of drawn over her dark-skinned face. She spoke to Aleena of a goddess who had changed her life, given her a new reason for living. "I see pain in your eyes, intense hate." Over a few meetings in the marketplace, she convinced Aleena and told her what she needed to hear; she should leave the Drudach, and seek refuge by the church of Loviatar. Escaping wasn't easy, and it was extremely dangerous to attempt. But nearly a year later, the girl escaped her life of slavery, only to find her dangerous living place in a small shanty in (ironically) the Shackles district, not too far of a distance from The House of the Nine Pleasures (the Loviatan church in Calimport). The years she worked into the church she lived in extreme poverty, and intense fear of being caught and killed by her father's associates, relatives, and slaves. Upon achieving a rank within the church of the Maiden, Aleena was allowed to move into one of the small dungeon cells they kept, to keep her hidden a small while longer. While Aleena was a slave, Sanensia had pulled strings within the church to allow the promising half-elf shelter. She was taken as an acolyte and trained in the ways of the Maiden, studying for many years. Eventually, she gave herself the surname "Redweth" and moved back out of the church, into another area of slums nearby. She backed from being an official and worked as a spare torturer for the church for many years, serving as an assistant to the Priests and Priestesses. She grew to be known well enough, and became a respected torturer within the church. At Thirty or so turns, somethinn within the half-elf began to stir, induced by her elven blood. She had the insane need to leave the 'Port and move on. She notified her church, and took the robes she wore as an acolyte, carrying upon herself the duty to convert others in the way of the Maiden of Pain. She moved north, leaving her past and fear behind. Since moving north, Aleena has come to reside in many towns. Rivermoot, Haven, Stormbane and Zhentil Keep. It was in a small fisher's town named Rivermoot that the then Loviatan met Raith Vel'dorn, and was converted to Xvim, and after Bane's rebirth, her former goddess' superior. Having been raised in the decadent and depraved city of Calimport, the Calishite thought nothing of carving her arms in public. She hadn't quite lived outside of the temple and it's area often, and over time she welcomed the assistance the Banite offered her. With Raith, and help from thr Baneson's church, she became a very loyal warrior. Aleena and Raith formed a relationship that lasts to this day. After returning to Zhentil Keep for a small while for Aleena to train officially under the eye of the Xvim's church, they moved on to a small town to the south, named 'Haven'. Indeed, it was anything but. This 'hole' of a town saw many horrible things, and a brutal attack on the now Banite woman by a Cyricist left her traumatized, and more angry at the Dark Sun than ever. (Bane returned to life in the Winter of 1372, prompting the attacks the spring of '73) It was also in Haven that Aleena met Kain Tyranov, an immensely powerful Red Wizard who she had once known in Rivermoot, and was a bit obsessed with. The two eventually entered a relationship, and worked toward having a child. The wizard studied Negative Energy extensively; his life's goal to become a creature reviled by any sane man. In a fit of anger, Aleena left the church, only to soon after realize her horrible mistake. Close to term, she risked angering the Thayan and returned to Raith and Bane's clergy. There was atonement, and then Aleena was brought back to the Keep. In this period, Aleena was taken in by Raith as a member of her family. Aleena and Raith were married, living in Zhentil Keep for two years after the birth of Zym Vel'dorn, and after he was old enough to be cared for on his own, left for Haven once more, to try and sort out relations with Zhentil Keep. In the midst of an attack on the Dales, Bane's holy city couldn't risk sending troops to such a small pest of a town; so they sent one priest, and one holy warrior. Upon making peace with Haven and building their own estate in Pikeston, a nearby port town, they stayed between their two estates. About two years later, young Zym was brought down to Pikeston, now renamed Stormbane. After a disaster and many ill events in the area, they returned to Zhentil Keep, until once more heading out to do services for the city. A holy war within the Zhentarim of a religious nature, between the reviled Black Sun worshippers, and the followers of Bane, called them out this time. In a state of prominence at this point in their life, the two were given responsibility in the mission. They did not forsee what was about to happen... * Nabea, daughter of Omaa, house of Haesib. * Aleena's true age isn't known, as her parents did not mark the day of her birth. She is approximately 49 years old. (She's an active character in a PnP campaign, where the current year is 1379, and hails originally from NWN. Other people's characters ARE mentioned here; any character other than Aleena is not of my creation!) |

| #16merrikcaleDec 20, 2006 19:43:40 | Name: Malehorn Trask Malehorn Trask was once a great knight in a local but well respected order in Cormyr. At the request of a local lord, his order investigated disappearings in a nearby town. It turns out a local vampire wizard was responsible. The Order attacked and lost. All but 3 were killed in the slaughter. Trask and his two leiutenants, Kane Sgroi and Lydamur Vapnek. These poor unfortunates became the wizard's spawn. Over 150 years later, the wizard was killed and the threesome were released. They have a created a new order of Knights, The Dhorgal Nath, which means "The Dead Men". The order now numbers nearly 50 and form a formidable force. After several unsuccessful attempts at creating a kingdom, they may have finally hit their mark. The Dhorgal Nath went in and cleaned up Nesme after its recent devastation. The Nath claim to worship Selune and therefore, conduct all their business at night. The general populace considers them at least quircky perhaps downright odd, but no one yet suspects the truth. They are too busy rebuidling and praising the Nath for removing the trolls and giants. And if the occassional residents disappears, well, that wouldn't be the first person to flee for greener pastures or be taken away by the trolls. |

| #18zombiegleemaxDec 22, 2006 10:08:40 | Name: Salani "Frostmaiden" Salani is a very tall human woman of exceptional strength and fortitude. While tall even as a child, she reached her monstrous height of 7' 4" in an encounter in Undermountain that pitted her adventuring party against a former member of her troupe; a wild mage named Starr, and her illithid accomplice. A strange surge of magical energy happened that partially transformed her into a form of quasi-Frost Giant but retained her human porportions. While few would consider her pretty, she is attractive in a striking kind of way. Her eyes are the clearest Ice blue, and her once dark blond hair has lightened over time into a near white the color of pearls, with blue highlights and shadows. Her Damaran mother had a dusky hue to her skin which Salani also has, leaving her with an almost permanent tan, albeit with a slight blue tint. A kind soul, but fearless warrior; she has recently found herself on a series of mis-adventures after rebuking the not-so-subtle flirtations of a noble in Waterdeep who did not like being scorned. He framed her with the murder of a visiting Sembian merchant, making it appear the work of the Ice goddess Auril and her followers, which he convinced the guards Salani was member of. Salani has since fled Waterdeep and its' environs with two friends who know her to be as kind as her appearance makes her look evil. She is following a rumor of a Belt or Girdle that she hopes will return her to her natural state rumored to be located on a shipwreck in the frigid waters of the Moonsea. |
| #19merrikcaleDec 22, 2006 20:18:14 | Name: Kestel As an infant, Kestrel was left at the doorstep of a Selunite Temple. No one knows who or what her parents are. However, it became clear at a young age that she possessed the raw divine power of the Moonmaiden herself. With that knowledge, the priestess, including her adopted mother, trained her to turn that divine power into divine fury against Selune's most bitter rivals, Shar and Malar. To that end, Kestrel has been bestowed with two weapons. A mace, the Shadowscourge, and a shortsword, the Wolfsbane, to be used against creatures of shadow and lycanthropes respectively. She now is moving outside the contrainsts of the Church's guidance traveling the North in search of enemies. |
| #20merrikcaleDec 24, 2006 12:54:41 | Name: Urlackt of the Huldak Urlackt is chief and warlord of the Huldak barbarians, a small Malarite barbarian tribe in Neverwinter Woods near the mountains. Urlackt brought his followers there when he was exiled from his tribe for worshipping Malar and People of the Black Blood. He now leads a fearsome tribe of nearly 200 who plague some of the small settlements of humans, elves and centaurs located in the Wood. As warlord, he has led many successful raids. The only tribe member near his power is the Geyashyee, or Mother, who is the shaman of the tribe and an afficanado of poisons. Urlackt has also reached out to the local pack of Black Blood members known as Mazlith's Reavers. Mazlith is a powerful werewolf who has so far kept the barbarian at arm's length. If the two forces do merge, they could become the dominant force of the Neverwinter Woods. |
| #21berzerker_primeDec 26, 2006 23:00:44 | Name: Etriel Hadoriel A'Sum Borocrist Tel Celeblas (commonly called Hadoriel Celeblas) Hadoriel, the daughter and only child of Quessir Borocrist E'Sum Ithilcrist Tel Celeblas, is the heir apparent to the lordship of the elven clan Celeblas in Deepingdale. But due to some clan traditions and a plot against her father of which she learned, she fled westward to lands near Silverymoon for a time. There, she became a part of the adventuring group that would come to be called the Company of the Combustible Commode (due to... er... events...) and which would travel the North to Waterdeep and a short way south along the Trade Road in the Sword Coast, making a name for themselves. Eventually, though, Hadoriel's past caught up with the group, forcing her to return home to Deepingdale to face the threat against her father and Clan Celeblas. She does not return alone, however; the rest of the company has pledged their support to her. Though Hadoriel is a wood elf, some N'Tel'Quess have mistaken her for a gold elf due to her blond hair. It is, in fact, family tradition that the founder of her clan was a gold elf, though the clan is entirely wood elven today. The blond hair has been passed down through the clan's line of lords. Hadoriel's other distinguishing characteristics are the unusual weapon she carries, the duom (see Arms and Equipment Guide) which is a traditional weapon of her mother's family, a quartz pendant that is empowered to light as the spell at speaking a command word, and a Forestwarden Shroud (see Complete Adventurer) in her family colors of green, brown, and gold. Notes: The campaign of which Hadoriel is a part is currently on-going and takes place in 1372 DR. I will try to remember to update this as things progress. House rules for this campaign use a modified feat system, giving the character moderately more feats than she would normally have. Images, a full description, and full stats can be found here. Sweet water to you! Berz. |
| #22merrikcaleDec 28, 2006 12:18:53 | Name: Lorelaine L'dhanna Lorelaine was an original member of the Noble Wolves along with his brother Coraith. Like others of his family, he was born with the dragon blood powers of a sorcerer. During the first adventure for the group, Coraith was killed and many of the band mistakenly believed the untrustworthy Lorelaine was responsible. The fact is he took off after his brother's death and did not mourn. Instead, he left the band behind with tomes detailing an ancient brotherhood of warlocks. Lorelaine now lives in a tower in the High Forest studying this so called Brethren, attempting to discover what they plan to do in thier attempt to conquer and manipulate. He has discovered that they are now in control of the Arcane Brotherhood and, thus, control Luskan. He believes there may be other operations, as well. Lorelaine is now trying to gatheri a force for counter measures. He hopes someday to recruit his neice, the sorceress, Ashyr, and perhaps the rest of the current Noble Wolves. He may find that a difficult proposition. |

| #27zombiegleemaxJan 10, 2007 0:04:07 | the following being is probalbly one of the most dangerous, helpfull, misunderstood, and mistrusted creatures to stalk the realms, this is definetly an NPC, not to ever be allowed as a character... Name: Zol Darklock Race: A true Shade Prince "not one of them city of shade pretenders" Age: 3500+ years verified, possible as old as shadows "5+ billon years", it is known that Zol Darklock is the only known living witness to the Rain of Colorless Fire, an event that total destroyed the world of Greyhawk greatest empires in a day, and in fact was a close friend to the being that unleased the destruction that faithful day, after that event Zol vanished from the known worlds until released here on Toril recently, it seems a group of adventurer's found a small black cube hidden behind a gate within grandfather tree, a gate that led to some world of endless caverns, and guarded by a small horde of scalamagarions "spellcaster killers", the cube seemed to trap all shadows within it, the adventurer's managed with help from a voice from within the cube to release Zol back into existance, Zol claimed the cube from the adventurer's and has apparently decided to spend the majority of his time at least for now on Toril Alignment: Unknown, but his actions to those that know him seem CN Gender: Male Diety: None know, some think he is some sort of Demi-Power himself, and is beholden to no one, and he seems to not ever associate with any known allies of Shar, and none every even mention his existance, it seems Zol Darklock is a name that has been banished from the language for followers of Shar Region: Planet Toril presently, has a habit of turning up wherever import events are occuring to just observe it seems, and sometimes he seems to helpout the underdog, his close associates seem to think he just like to have a little fun at the expense of the favorite in a conflict, and sometimes he just like to show up and make everyone sweat a little, his favorite tactic seems to be stepping out from a shadow behind some of Torils most dangerous characters and whispering words of wisdow to help the individual out, or cryptic threats to send a chill up there spine, to Toril's movers and shakers the arrival of Zol means all bets are off, no matter what the situation at hand is, and no know memeber of Toril power elite has every tried to kill him yet, some suggest out of fear, some think it's because he has never actual ever been known to slay anything that didn't try very hard to kill him first. Favorite Weapons/Items are a Longsword+6 made of what appears to be shadowstuff, this artifact is know to permanetly drain strenght, 2 points per hit with no known save allowed, and the weapon can change itself into two shortsword+3of shadowstuff that drain strenght temporarily, an artifact Staff of that that has many powerful and unique shadow/illusionist powers, as well as being able to duplicate a shadow dragons breath, and create a sphere of true shadowstuff an incredible 360 yard radius around him. Class/Levels: Unknown, some claim his skills and abilities they have witnessed put him in the same league as a master fighter, a master thief, and a master illusionist, whatever his true class/levels are, he has shown supernatural and extraordinary true shade abilities of double the area of effect/duration/and uses he can wield "in 2e Zol was a Ftr20/Thf20/Wiz20, was considered a specialist ftr/ill, and for some unknown reason could not advance beyound them levels, Zol apparently cannot cast any known varient of the Wish spell, Zol also is apparently immune to any kind of level draining effect" Natural Abilitiy Scores: Str18, Dex24, Int22, Con20, Wis14, Cha16 Zol has 666 max hp, when he has 20 levels in all three classes 3e class/levels in my game: Zol cannot gain more than 20 levels in any single class, and has only three classes he can advance in, those are a pure Fighter, Illusionist, and Thief, with no other classes allowed him, Zol usual does enough adventuring to keep himself at 20th level in each class, Zol has all the abilties as a true shade at double the uses, area of effect, and cast as a specialist in the field, any spell he cast that contains shadowstuff is cast at 4 levels higher than his present level, for all purposes Zol Darklock is a true shade prince, his most terrifying skill/feat is his ability to step in and out of any shadow Instantly 'no recovery / transition time", and travel the thru them shadows at an amazing 7 times his normal rate of movement, this amazing ability of his makes him truly dangerous to every creature in the realms, this abiltity has only one weakness, it seems any magical barrier in effect at the time he cannot use his unique shadow walk ability to bypass the effect, Zol cannot cast any wish like spells without losing several class levels, and is immune to all other types of level and ability draining attacks, he can however be drained of levels by any avatar/artifact using level draining attacks, any levels drained or lost are taken first from his ftr/wiz/thf in that order one at a time, "e.t., a four level drain would cost him 2 ftr levels and one each from his wiz and thf". Zol has been known to associate in the past with the following beings since his release onto this world...Shimmergloom the Shadow Dragon, Deepshadow of the Shadow Thiefs, Maxam a uber powerful beholder like creature, Fzoul, Slarkrethal the Kraken, Kazgorath the beast of the Moonshaes, Saed the Vampire of the beastlands, Kartak Spellseer the Lich, Cyndre of the Black Wizards, Radoc an otherwordly being, Drumorg a cambion prince and son of demogorgon, Naeros a powerful fighter of the Karanok family of Lutcheq, and a uber powerful spider shaped 30th level wizard demon lord in a swamp in the south near calimashan, take note that many of his past association have been slain/disappeared from the realms/or have since moved up to the ranks of the uber powerful of the realms since his association with them. Zol's only realm changing event known that he personally took control of is known to only Fzoul and Maxam, is during the ToT, Zol stood before an opened gate and battled a creature known as Kalchesis deep within undermountain during the time the battle against Myrkul raged above, this creature was an Avatar, a powerful vampire/necromancer. Zol destroyed the creature and his large entourage of uber powerful elven female vampire, not even Blackstaff knows just how much he owes Zol for this, these creatures and there vampire Avatar god would have certainly changed the realms for the worse if they ever to have made it past Zol into undermountain and eventual onto the streets of Waterdeep itself. |

| #30the_shapeless_oneJan 10, 2007 22:01:45 | Sorry for misspelling and possible grammer errors. This is a sort of sad story of one of my characters.Name: Kean The uneatable; Kill of Morhg maker. Kean was born with a Talent for magic, but because his tribe had a shaman he was not allowed to develope those talents. Kean secretly started the study of magic and was promtly kicked out of his tribe. To survive in the wilds of chult he took up the art of fighting. He came across some chultan explorers. He was paid to be the guide of that adventuring party. Soon he had proven himself very useful. They asked him to join the party. So he went with them. Keans friends soon learned he had seemed to have some sort of curse put on his head. Any person that befriended him died with in a year or so. Though no actual curse was placed on Keans head. He did how ever lose every person he held dear. Because of this Keans nature started to change. Slipping from a quite young lad who was skilled at fighting. To a combat monster, who used his pint up rage to win battles not tactics. After 3 years time with his new found friends they all died. So he then traveled south and was hired out as a mercenary. He befriended a Comaryain(SP?) Warmage named Illaceth the Purple.. He was sent to fight a necromance titled Morgh Maker & his horible army of undeath. Kean easy slew the necromancer. But his new found friend did not survive the first wave of the attack. Though he did manage to clear a path for Kean and his platoon. Illaceth was slain by a Hoard of Ghasts. After Kean lost his new best friend, he also lost alittle more of his sanity. He taveled out into the middle of nowere. There was a lake he came across, he decided to quench his thirst. He was then ambushed by a tribe of lizardfolk. In trade for his life he agreed to fight a Dragon Turtle that had been eating all of the lizard folks game. Kean was sent up to the lake and ordered to follow a river that fed into it. There he found the dragon turtle. It was not the largest one he had ever seen. But it was more then enough for the lizard folk. After a long and brutal battle. He came back dragging the dragon turtles head. He was then dubbed "The Uneatable" by the lizardfolk. Kean shortly after became friends with the lizardfolk. He went on a hunting party with them. When he and the party returned. They found the tribe decimated, bye an orc hoard. At this point in Keans life he decided it was time to retire from adventuring, He settled down in The Great Dale. Kean joined the city defence at the age of 26. He remained there for the rest of his life. |

| #32gemcasterJan 24, 2007 6:38:16 | Name: Solvayus Lethe A young man stands in front of you in well made dwarven mail of a dark metal coloured an oily violet, he observes you with a friendly stoic look, he looks just under 25 but the depths of eyes reveals a soul and mind centuries old. One of his most striking features is his hair, both on his face and head; his long and well kept beard and ponytail constantly change colour infront of you cascading throug the colours of the rainbow, on closer inspection his eyes change colour too. His demenour and somewhat naive expression give him a backwater and dull intelligence, but to the trained eye they somehow mismach and give off the feeling of a well planned facade of a cunning and wize mind. His frame suggests that he would be barely able to lift a couple hundred pounds but something about the way he moves gives the impression of titanic strength, this strength is evidenced by the the huge axe he currently fiddles with is far too large for someone of his size to wield, possibly weighing over 20 lbs encrusted with gleaming rubys and inscribed with dethek runes, dwarven religeous symbols and carvings of flame give the weapon a sacred and godly powerful aura. He carries several wands in a bandolier strung across his chest along with some stout blue daggers, around his neck he wears a pendant of a blueish metal set with diamonds and a huge emerald, on his left hand he wears a large gold ring with rubies delecately carved into a whirling criss-cross pattern, on his ear he wears a pearl with several smaller gems orbiting it, upon his head he wears a blue green bandanna with a plane plate of mythril protecting his forhead, at his belt holstered on the left you notice a strange angular pistol like gun however he holds no ammunition or powder, on his right dangles the head of a large vicious cold-iron flail its handle a whole thighbone wrapped in pale scaled flesh and on his back he wears a cloak of black material decorated in silver cobwebs, the combined magical aura of these somewhat gaudy items gives of the feeling of a rich, well traveled and much experience adventurer. Solvayus Lethe came to toril in the year of the raging flame (1255 DR) appearing somewhere in the underdark (possibly underneath unther or chessenta), he ventured about the underdark for around 10 to 20 years gathering a substantial ammount of magic items, gems and precious metals, untill he was captured and sold to a house in the nearest drow city. After 4 years of torture, labour and ridicule he was able to escape leaving many of his "employers" dead in his wake. Emotionly and physicaly scarred, half dead from starvaton and thirst he eventually made it to the great rift where a small gathering of dwarves nursed him back to health, orriginaly he was to be set on his way as soon as he recovered but due to a strange series of invasions, assasinations and corrupt plots that were thwarted mainly by solvayus they allowed him to stay and be a part of the community, many were appaled by this but grugingly ackowleged that he had done many things for Earthheart, eventually he became a well respected member of the rift and no one doubted his stalwart dwarf like mentality, howerver he wished to see faerun and set off for a far off land named cormyr. Howerver unknown to the dwarves was that he was an entity of great power from another world that was split up into 4 seperate pieces scattered across faerun (currently Tethyr, The Silver Marches, Rashemen and The Great Rift) and he wishes to unite his other selves to become whole again, currently he has taken a keen interest in ancient artifacts and has aquired many, including a diabolic set of armlets named the shackles of thanatos, recovered a treasured weapon of the dwarves named the hand of moradin, a small orb of insane magical power called mystras pearl and a strange musical instrument of demonic desighn called Naaven, his motives besides that are a mistery but it is all too clear that he is destined to become a serious power in faerun, allready he has become a powerful wizard with acces to strange, forgotten lore and powers from his training in Rashemen, he has become one of the most widely feared scimitar wielders in Tethyr and a master of an ancient song magic in the Silver Marches. -more to come soon- |

| #34tyshanisJan 28, 2007 9:42:29 | Name: Tyshanis Viperbow Name: Aquiel Viperbow Born the 12th day of Kythorn 1247 DR The Year of the Purple Basilisk, Reitheillaethor the High Forest. He stands 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighs 110 lbs. He has copper skin tinged with green. He has black shoulder length hair, which he always wears down; His eyes are green with gold speckles. He wears a majority of greens and brown, which match the foliage of the High Forest. While exploring the High Forest with his brother Gillian in the year 1310 Dr, the two brothers saw something truly amazing, A large creature covered in feathers and as large as a bear feeding on the carcass of a boar. The owlbear not wanting to share its meal with two tiny elves charged the pair and eviscerated Gillian. Tyshanis took off through the woods with the owlbear closely behind. Ty ran off the edge of a cliff and fell into the rushing waters of the Heart blood river, where an old human druid of Mielikki named Uraunt Thranthree rescued him from drowning. Tyshanis explained the past events to the elderly druid, who took pity on the young elf. They walked the forest until they came to the site where Gillian had been slain. The owlbear once again took offense to the intrusion and attempted to maul the druid, who using the power of Mielikki calmed the animal and it lumbered off. Tyshanis was awestricken. The druid told Ty everything would be fine and to sit by his brother. The druid returned his brother to life. But druids cannot raise the dead; only return the spirit to a new body. Gillian Viperbow was retuned as a half-orc. Tyshanis was amazed and horrified at the same time. But as Gillian rose from the ground a Unicorn appeared out of the forest and watched the druid perform his ceremony. Now Tyshanis was impressed. Uraunt stated that Mielikki was watching over them. The two brothers stayed with the druid for some time. Tyshanis knew that their father Erryll a devout follower of Solonor Thelandrea would be furious and would never except Gillian back into the family. Tyshanis returned home with his grave news. As he predicted Erryll was furious. But what young Ty never saw coming was that his father blamed him for Gillian’s death. Erryll banished Tyshanis to the forest much to the protests of his mother, Sylia and younger sister Aquiel. Tyshanis returned to the Druid’s camp and told his brother everything that had happened. The two lived with the druid until he died five years later. They wandered the High Forest slaying Orks and goblins and even once an owlbear. Tyshanis had no real aptitude for magic but reveled nature. His skills at tracking and archery rivaled even his own fathers. Gillian having paid close attention to the elderly druid soon learned to harness the power nature gave and became a skilled druid. Gillian died of old age in 1370 Dr. Later that year Ty met a Young elf ranger by the name of Saeoro Moonarrow, they became fast friends, and later lovers. Two months later they were married under elven law. Saeoro was a Harper and enlisted Ty to help with the problems with Zhents around the Delimbyr vale. On one such mission Saeoro, was killed by a Cleric of the church of Bane., And Ty barely escaped with his life. In his grief ty retreated back to the High Forest and was not seen for some time. Tyshanis is now a lone ranger of the high forest. He hunts what he needs and moves on, but always stays about a days walk from his home village. In1371 Dr Tyshanis was reintroduced to his sister Aquiel now grown and a Druid of rillifane. The siblings have been inseparable ever since. One day in the year of wild magic while at a shrine to Solonor Thelandira, An elf came to visit with Tyshanis. The talked about many a thing and drank wine together the elf told Tyshanis that he would be his champion. Since then Ty has noticed strange powers he now possess. |

He has a kind soul and a broad smile. He delights in sharing his good fortune with those small communities he often passes through and has a special place in his heart for the children of those towns and hamlets. He especially adores halfling children and always has a collection of fried tasty treats in which to delight the young boys and girls. On occasion however, his fondness for the young and innocent manifests to an extreme and vile manner. On these rare occasions, Lorinel takes on another personality, one that has no name but is known as the hinphiliac amongst the families of his victims. This side of Lorinel has a fascination with halfling children, a fascination that leads him to brutally play with 'his children' by slowly eating fingers, toes, and other parts before murdering them. He then performs heineous and perverse acts to their corpses, and finally skins them and boils down the fat to use in cooking. After performing these acts and disposing of what little remains, the personality of Lorinel resurfaces without memory of the deed. All Lorinel is aware of is that he has a new batch of cakes in which he can share amongst his favorite halfling children while continuing on his way to market. |

Renvale begin his adventuring career as a thug for hire(rogue) to a small band of adventurer's on their way to the Stonelands in Cormyr. The adventurers were seeking to carve out a territory for themselves as per the Cormyrian decree that any adventuring bands that can hold territory in the Stonelands may keep that land and granted titles along with it. After fierce fighting, Renvale and his band of intrepid adventurers managed to hold a few square miles of land on the southern end of the Stonelands. Not long after a castle was built and the adventurers had accomplished their goals. During this time Renvale met Marsela Helmhammer(Female Half-Elf Cleric 21/Hierophant 5 or Helm) and quickly fell in love and Renvale found himself converting to Helminism. During these early adventuring days, Renvale also found he had a flair for archery and had aquired "Coldbreath" a longbow sacred to Helmites. Renvale also found that the bow grew with him as he grew in power and performed services in the duty of Helm(stats later). After a few more clashes with gobliniod tribes, the adventurer's found themselves secure in their position and were granted the title of Noble by Alusair, The Steel Regent. But their jubilation was short lived. In the dead of winter, the adventurers (Now known in Cormyr as the Stone Blades) recieved a desperate letter from Randal Morn of Daggerdale. His land was being assaulted by drow raiders and he was ill-equiped to deal with the situation. Renvale and the rest of the Stone Blades answered the letter in earnest and soon found themselves in a bitter struggle with followers of Kiarensenlee, drow goddess of Undeath. Through the Underdark the Stone Blades tracked down and destroyed the followers of the vengeful goddess, finally finding themselves at the Doorstep of the Undying Temple and at odds with Irae T'sarren, High Priestess of Kiarensenlee. After a titanic battle, the Stone Blades destoyed Irae and her undying monstrosity of a temple. | #48zombiegleemaxMar 17, 2007 14:55:37 | Name: Taeleraed Treesinger, last scion of House Aunglor *Mystic Ranger found in Dragon #336 A lithe elf leans against an aspen, a warm half-smile playing across his lips. Curly locks of coppery-brown hair fall over his brilliant eyes of robin's egg blue, which shine with inner wisdom and laughter. The hilt of a delicate, antiquated sword rises gracefully from the lovingly-tooled leather scabbard settled at his hip, and a sturdy silver spear rests across his back alongside a strong and elegant longbow. His stance is easy, natural, and in spite of his slim frame, he possesses a strong and comforting posture, as though the life-blood of the earth were traveling through his contact with the ground, running through him like the roots of Toril's most magnificent oaks. His smile becomes broad, and he bids you welcome, and asks a favor of you. He wishes that you would join him, and tell him your tale. As a Harper, Taeleraed is a bit of an anomaly. He is less interested in political manipulation as he is maintaining balance and preserving lore, and as such is being closely observed by the Moonstars (not to mention his "superiors" at Twilight Hall). Mildly sympathetic to their members, Taeleraed nevertheless has little interest in changing his badge for what he views to be the same cause. His colleagues view him as a bit of an eccentric and a rebel, for he has little regard for the Harper hierarchy, and an almost zealous connection to nature and the Weave. He has personally dispatched a handful of volunteers into the Spine of the World Mountains to observe the rising Kingdom of Many Arrows (reporting only to him and the High Lady Alustriel via sending magics), and maintains a seat on the Caercilcarn in the High Forest. Unbeknownst to all but a handful of Evermeet and Evereskan nobles and the High Lady Alustriel, Taeleraed wields the lost Aunglor moonblade, and this noble lineage (from his half-elven father's side), they speculate, is the reason for his influential role in instigating the foundation of New Eaerlann. His bawdy sense of humor, combined with his talent for storytelling, has made him popular among the Silvaeren commonfolk (especially dwarves), while his natural empathy and poetic sense of justice keeps him in good standing with the Knights in Silver and the Noble families of the Gem of the North. When in the city, he maintains a dormitory in Everdusk Hall, the local temple dedicated to the Seldarine. Here he acts as a substitute temple cantor and grounds-keeper. If the PC's meet Taeleraed in Silverymoon, he is most likely to be tending the temple gardens, drinking with a raucous band of dwarves in the Helm and Hammer, or browsing for works of art in the market square. If found in the High Forest, he may approach the party's campfire (and put it out, offering magical sources of warmth and light instead) as an emissary to Turlang or the Druids of Tall Trees (which he maintains connections to both). |

Operating primarily out of Everlund, Curudin commands a small group of like-minded vigilantes known as "The Laughing Twilight" that spoil the machinations of both reputable and infantile thieves guilds attempting to build prescences throughout the Silver Marches. Silvaeren mothers have even used legends of his exploits as stories to scare the local youth out of greed and selfishness, so in spite of the esteem he has earned with the general public, he has developed a bit of a bogeyman reputation among small children (a reputation that Curudin has done nothing to dispel). "The Laughing Twilight" maintains a front as a festhall and shrine of the same name dedicated to the Fey Jester and similar gods of trickery within Neverwinter, Everlund and Silverymoon. From these bases, Curudin's followers can feel free to plot (seemingly) grand and elaborate schemes to humiliate various proud (and often evil) leaders of powerful organizations throughout the Sword Coast North, for the sheer enjoyment of the act. Curudin and his rogues also hold the Midnight Gambol once a month in praise of Erevan Ilesere and invite any and all who wish to attend. The Rogues more daring exploits include thefts from Fzoul Chembryl, Alustriel Silverhand, Mintiper Moonsilver, and even the Mighty City of Shade (the last nearly ending Curudin's life). They enjoy upsetting all lawful beings of both good and evil dispositions and delight in creating as much chaos and mayhem as possible where ever they travel. Curudin has close ties to the Seelie Court, and a strong following of fey and feytouched are found in his number. His debaucherous lifestyle, sense of humour and ready smile has ensured him the blessing of Erevan, who has (only half jokingly) named him his 'shadow'. With the aid of powerful fey magic, Curudin's exploits have become nearly as daring of those of the deity himself, never leaving a trace as to the source of the deed. Although there are many who suspect (and correctly so) the church of Erevan to be the source of the "coincedences," The Laughing Twilight was taught by the best to cover their tracks, and so far, maintains a clean record. If you happen to see Curudin smiling, you may just be the joke behind the grin. ......................................... Name: Laeirlefane Starleaf Laeirlefane Starleaf is the swaggering charleton fighter of "The Laughing Twilight". Expelled from the Copper elf village in the southeastern portion of the High Forest for unchecked tricks and pranks against the elders, which ended up harming one elder. He wandered to Waterdeep in search of trouble, fun crime and women. After a well planned trick that left four Zhent sellswords dead and robbed of their money, Laeirlefane was approached by Curudin Ahmaquissar and asked to join him on his way to Silverymoon where he has since joined "The Laughing Twilight" and has been a valued friend and asset to the rogues' guild. Laeirlefane is alluring and cocky as many copper elves tend to be when they follow The Fey Jester. His sword skills are unlike many who consider themselves Duelists, and rarely does he lose a street fight in any city he travels upon. Smart and cunning, his wit has saved him countless times in dire and fatal situations. Some of his most daring thefts and missions have included such temples to gods like Bane, Helm, Mask, Tyr, Beshaba, Auril, Shar, Tempus and many others of good and evil alignment. When he is not adventuring with his fellow rogues' causing mayhem and mischief, he spends most his time traveling between Silverymoon and Everlund where "The Laughing Twilight" hold their main bases. Put him in the most obscure location and he would not be lost. Very little seems to be known of the dangerous ranger. He is amongst the North's greatest warriors, a renowned archer and tracker of such peerless skill it's said he can track an invisible bird in flight. He once hunted down and entire wartribe of orcs, killing all two hundred odd warriors within. He single handedly slew a green dragon of immense power, battling it over several days. Giants are said to tremble at his mention. Or... so the growing legends go. The Walker, as he is simply known amongst those of the North, is rumored to be one of Mielikki's "Chosen". A vicious hunter of orcs, giantkin and undead, The Walker is perhaps the least known of Faerun's great heroes, a mystery and enigma to even Mystra's Chosen and the Harpers. |
| #54bitter_thornMar 21, 2007 0:43:53 | Cool. What is Highland Stalker from? |
| #55wallsMar 21, 2007 1:03:41 | It's from Complete Adventurer (p54). This guy was originally a 2ed character. Highland Stalker worked in the retelling simply based on his mountaineering experience. A good deal, majority really, of his life was in mountainous terrain. I figured it worked well. Barbarian works due to an... argument... with Miekilli in which he left rangerhood for a time, stalking the mountains as a much more sullen, inwardly angry man. I may even do a full character sheet up with 3ed rules. He now has 4 favored enemies (orc, giant, undead, goblinoid) and a bunch of new rules... maybe, maybe I should! He's certainly not optimized for 3ed, I am sure I could have picked a ton of extra different PrC's and classes, but this is easily the closest representation of his life. |

| #58karsus_the_madMar 21, 2007 5:33:03 | Name: Oriem of Illul Azrêal, being the solitary inventor he is, had never taken on an apprentice save for one: Oriem of Illul, an acoylyte at the High House of Gond. Oriem was of a personality diametrically opposed to Azrêal's own, and this aspect of Oriem is what attracted Azrêal to the vibrant priest. Oriem had a wondrous talent for understanding even the most complex of inventions, and often times would point out flaws or methods of improving them. His faith in Gond was also of an unwavering certainty. He believed that Gond is the creator of all, crafting existence in his divine forges. He also believed that arcane magic was a hinderance to the Wonder Bringer's Craft. So long as the arcane was prevalent to those who sought it, they would choose it over the Craft, which he thought of as blasphemy. Oriem has but one goal: The complete eradication of the arcane. While as an apprentice to Azrêal, Oriem learned great things about the Craft which only fueled his ideal of it's superiority. One night Oriem stole into Azrêal's private library so as to study his master's texts. He discovered Azrêal's amethyst tome and the notes translating several pages. These notes detailed various aspects of the Weave and how to draw energy from it to power devices that were otherwise mundane. The notes also revealed secrets on the metaphysical nature of the Weave, and it's structure relating to the material plane. With this knowledge he set about formulating his plan. Oriem went along with his studies as normal but in his freetime away from the workshops and libraries, he practiced manipulating the Weave, utilizing his newfound knowledge. Eventually Oriem succeeded. He successfully created a small and unstable area of dead magic. Immediately Oriem found himself screaming and dizzy. Then nothing. Azrêal felt his student's presence slip away. Confused and worried, Azrêal rushed to Oriem's private rooms. What he saw shocked him, but what he felt frightened him. He felt his connection to magic flickering. Azrêal rushed to Oriem's side. Noting his apprentice was still alive, he quickly dragged Oriem out of the room. Oriem awoke to the horrid realization that his magic was gone. When Azrêal confronted him as to what had happened, Oriem panicked. He attacked his master and instinctively Azrêal responded with overwhelming force, electrifying the area and incenerating the flesh from Oriem. Just at the moment of death, Shar secretly whisked Oriem away, seeing in the young man a potential weapon. She infused in him the power of shadow and sense of loss. To this day Oriem strives to achieve his goal, growing more insane and detached, all for Gond. And here's a picture of him I doodled up. ![]() |

| #60zombiegleemaxMar 22, 2007 0:03:02 | Here's a bunch of NPCs that meander about MY Realms...Name: Ilona Eglantine This paladin of Sune was born and raised in The House of Revels, the temple of Sune in the city of Ordulin. The ideals of the church defined her life from birth, and she fought for them when necessary, she had always respected life itself above all else and swore when she first picked up a sword that she would never take someone's life from them. On her 20th birthday, she began to perform minor miracles the likes of spells Sune's clerics could cast --spells beyond her abilities as a paladin. The high priest of the temple proclaimed Ilona a favored soul of the goddess and gifted her with a holy avenger. More resolute than ever in her peaceful ways, Ilona knelt before the high priest and vowed never to bring harm another living creature. Soon after, she became the high priest's paramor, which caused a minor scandal considering the weapon he gifted her with, and further concern amongst some clergy occurred when they learned she would not use it in service of the church. To calm the dissenting voices, the high priest tasked Ilona with a quest to destroy various undead menaces threatening the local area --a quest which would not break her vows to complete. This worked for a time, but a few years later, another assumed the role of high priest within The House of Revels and asked Ilona to return the holy sword to the church so they could give it to a more able warrior. Ilona refused the request and has not been permitted to make use of temple's resources in any way ever since. Shunned by her former home, yet still convinced of her righteousness for maintaining the blessings of Sune, she left Sembia and wanders the Heartlands trying to bring peace and beauty to those who need it most. ================================================ Name: Swift A talented young rogue born in Westgate, Swift was taken in by a cleric of Mask who caught her stealing from him while he was attempting to con some merchants into unwittingly donating to his temple. He recognized her skill and had the finest thieves in his temple train her. Over time, she also learned some minor spellcasting from her would-be mentor and rose to a position power within the church. Her exploits robbing from other temples became the stuff of myth and some claim she is a "Chosen" of Mask, though this is not actually true and high ranking clergy discourage such rumors. Secretly, Swift's mentor hopes she will one day recieve such an honor for it will elevate his own importance for having the foresight to have recruited her as a child... but Swift herself cares little for such accolades. She spent her youth on the streets barely surviving and now enjoys the material rewards of serving Mask, but she longs to give up the danger and settle into a life of contentment somewhere "safe." ================================================ Name: Hagar the Wanderer Hagar was orphanned at a young age. His family were merchants and travelling through Cormyr on their way to Citadel Adbar. Giants attacked in the Stonelands and slew his father and brothers, and Hagar himself would have been slain were it not for the intervention of a what appeared to be a 12 foot tall dwarf of granite. It rose from beneath the ground and defended the helpless child, crushing the giants with ease. The golem then picked up the unconscious Hagar and carried him tirelessly back to Adbar. Once the child was safe, the golem walked to the nearest shrine of Moradin and raised his hammer salute. Little more than a lifeless statue since then, the Golem only moved once to acknowledge Hagar years later when the boy had grown into a man. Hagar often came to talk to the statue for it was all he knew. In fact, he was so young that he did not even know his own clan name and the a local cleric told the young dwarf he would find himself in time. As soon as he was old enough, Hagar began training as a monk. Years later, Hagar knew it was time to go "find himself" and he visited his savior one final time before leaving. The statue turned its head to acknowledge the young monk and Hagar left Citadel Adbar believing the statue spoke to him, saying only the word Oghrann. He is convinced his destiny lies within this lost dwarven city and works toward preparing himself for a battle of epic proportions. ================================================ Name: Erin (formerly Jasmal Jassan) The woman known as Erin is truly an old soul. She was born over 4000 years ago and was a wicked member of the aristocracy of ancient Calimshan. She used her sorcerous skills to beguile and murder anyone who could further her personal aspirations, disposing of them when she had no more use them. She was a faithless heathen right up to the day she was killed by the caliph's wizard, a suspcious man who learned of Jasmal's murderous past. As punishment, he sentenced her to death and eternal damnation in the abyss, and he summoned forth a demon to collect her body and soul. Through perserverence, cunning, and desire, Jasmal's soul quickly ascended through the ranks of demons until she settled into the role of succubus. Memory of her past life had all but vanished when she was coincidentally summoned to the material plane by a powerful archmage who sought to use her demonic abilities to fulfill the 14th of the Caleph Prophecies to further his own agenda. Realization of where she was triggered long-buried memories and Jasmal betrayed her summoner at the first opportunity in order to sieze power for herself. Her aspirations failed time and again, though she always planted the seeds of future summonings by planting behind misleading information in whatever arcane books she could find in her summoners' personal libraries. In 262 DR, she was summoned to Myth Drannor by an unwitting elfmaid with minimal arcane schooling. The young elf found a scroll that promissed to divine all manner of love-related problems, and she hoped to determine if her betrothed truly loved her. Instead, she was slain outright and the succbus sought out the elven paramour for her own sinister designs. The girl's love was equally inept with the arcane, though his father was cleric of Corellon Larethian and immediately suspected fiendish possession when he caught the pair blaspheming a sacred alter. When he learned the truth, he bound the succubus and --with the help of the elfmaid's father, a powerful wizard-- imprisoned her deep in the ground, cut off from the abyss and her own innate powers. She was to suffer for the evil she'd caused, though slaying her outright would allow some measure of escape. Instead, isolation and hunger were to be her punishment for this and the countless other evils they expected one of her kind had visited upon mortals, and a Wish spell was used to prevent her from ending her own life. Over a thousand years later, during a near cataclysmic event that shook and cracked her earthy prison open, the powerless succubus crawled to the surface. Frightened and angry citizens of Highmoon discovered her and chased her right into the arms of a local hero --Dorn Tallstag, a paladin of Torm. Her cries for mercy moved the elderly holy warrior and he took her to the local temple of the Triad. Helm Evenwood, the high-ranking clergyman, deemed her insane and decided to try the impossible: to attempt to redeem a demon. He gave her the simple name Erin to begin anew with a clean slate. Over time, she had turned from evil and fell into a strictly regimented lifestyle with the temple's guidance, though she was magically transformed into a celestial being as a reward for truly becoming good. In time, she was expected to join the ranks of astral devas serving the Tyr, though she had to further prove her worth on the material plane before that would be allowed. Skeptical of her transformation, she was still allowed to accompany a paladin of Tyr and his companions on several adventures. During this time, though she committed no evils, she had proven that she was not ready to be a divine servant of Tyr. In a dramatic scene where her failings were announced before all assembled, Erin fell to her knees and prayed for forgiveness and accepted whatever punishment Tyr deemed appropriate. The astral deva read from a scroll Tyr's pronouncement of justice tempered by mercy, and Erin was given a second chance at life to prove her soul worthy to someday be welcome in House of the Triad. With that, her human form at the time of her death 4267 years ago was restored. She continues to serve Tyr and Torm at the side of the adventurers who gave her a chance --even if with reservations. ================================================ Name: Geth of Jalanthar Geth, a simple man hailing from Jalanthar in the Silver Marches, is an unusual cleric of Grumbar. Some say his spells can do unusual things, such as harming the undead with his touch and creating magic barriers akin to those used by wizards. Though a human, he has spent much of his time amongst the dwarves of Adbar, claiming great respect for their culture. He has come to Cormyr to serve the dwarven hero, Bandag Trueforger, like so many others that have heard of the mighty dwarf's reputation. ================================================ Name: Megwella Rumnaheim An ambitious young dwarven woman named Megwella, she is a ranger devoted to Haela Brightaxe. Though she is of clan Rumnaheim, Megwella was born and raised in Waterdeep, and she is a city girl at heart. In Cormyr, she's come looking to find her fortune, and she intends to prove herself to one of the great heroes of her people whom she has heard of: Bandag Trueforger. ================================================ Name: Ellywick "Stumbleduck" Ningel Ellywick Ningel, an adventurous rock gnome from Baldur's Gate, is a devoted follower of Baervan Wildwanderer. She herself was wandering through Cormyr when she heard of the great dwarven hero, Bandag Trueforger. Though a little unsure of her own abilities at times, Ellywick faces her fears and never retreats from battle. In spite of her competence, some call her "Stumbleduck" behind her back. It is a malicious nickname her older brother gave her that always manages to follow her where ever she goes. In fact, it was this very nickname that caused her to leave home and become a wandering adventurer... in hopes of escaping the teasing of her youth. ================================================ Name: Tilly People think Tilly is a halfling --a notion she does not discourage. Where she comes from is a mystery, but its clear that --though she has travelled abroad, she has spent a good deal of time in the Western Heartlands. She has come to Cormyr claiming she has had visions that lead her to pledge her service to Loric Canephane, a paladin of Tyr and prominent member of a small noble family. More suspicious than curious, this feline has seen the worst of people while in her cat form and just doesn't trust anyone until they've proven themselves to her. Still, she is a devoted follower of Nobanion, and she goes where her calling leads her. She serves Nobanion as a crusader* [ToB], and she is a fierce opponent on the field of battle. ================================================ Name: Rowan Rowan is a human cleric who serves the Triad through her patron, Ilmater. Clad only in a simple, somewhat worn white robe, she carries no weapons or equipment for she has sworn a sacred vow of poverty. Silently suffering whatever hardship is inflicted on her and doing whatever she can to ease the suffering of those around her, seemingly eager to endure pain for others often unnerves people which leaves Rowan with few outside her religion to call friend. ================================================ Name: Seldinor Seldinor grew up hating his human father, a tyranical parent who was a priest of Bane. As a result, he harbors a deep-rooted hatred for followers of Bane and the city of Zhentil Keep. Although he is friendly and honest, most people find him more than a little intimidating due to the fact that he might be looking at them as prey. In truth, Seldinor's father is Malar, the Beastlord. Growing up, he was favored by the Beastlord, though he grew up hating his mortal father. Seldinor was conceived while his father was away from the city serving the cause of Bane elsewhere. When he returned, he found his wife pregnant and refused to become ridiculed by his peers for her infidlity. He claimed the child was his own, but the fact that it wasn't spurred him to physical and emotional abuse of both the boy and his mother. Once his prodigious strength was realized, Seldinor turned on his father. This priest of Bane is one of the few men that has evaded Seldinor in a hunt, though that was due to youthful inexperience. Soon after, priests of Malar found Seldinor and taught him of his true heritage so that he might better serve his divine father. Over time, he rebelled against his father's cruel nature and has become his own man. He respects strength of character as much as strength of arm, and people who treat others disrespectfully earn his enmity --as do those who speak ill of the gods. Counting himself as one of them by right of birth, Seldinor worships no god and fully intends to take his place among them in the Faerûnian pantheon. ================================================ Name: Grand Kempe This big brute of a woman is descended from a northern family whose heritage is tainted by ogre blood. As a result, she and her kin are very large people and often become warriors. Abducted as a child, she was sold into slavery. As she grew up, her slave role changed time and again until she eventually found herself being trained for gladatorial combats. She won her freedom in Hillsfar and accepted an offer to stay with the arena to fight as the people's champion against monsters and criminals captured by the Red Plumes. Having forgotten her given name over time, she earned the name Grand Kempe for her martial prowess. She is a skilled wrestler who has yet to be defeated. Occasionally, she takes a sabatical from her work at the arena to seek out true challanges by locating heroes of great renown and challenging them to a wrestling match. Always accompanied by a bardic companion, her exploits are retold outside Hillsfar's arena to draw bigger audiences for her sanctioned combats. ================================================ Name: Gharic Silverstar A devout cleric of Lathander, Gharic strives for physical excellence above and beyond the calling of his noble birthright. He trains and adventures against his family's wishes, and constantly puts himself at risk by helping those in need. In spite of his clerical training, Gharic often relies on physical might first and falls back on spellcasting as needed (usually for healing). In an effort to prove his personal might, Gharic relies only on his fists in combat, eschewing the use of melee weapons and showing outright disdain for ranged weapons. He lacks a certain measure of common sense normally possessed by clergy, but his heart and dedication have seen him through all manner of trials and tribulations thus far. |

| #62wallsMar 22, 2007 23:00:05 | Name: Smithy Bouldersmash A proud champion of dwarven causes, Bouldersmash is quite forward in his approach, willingly travelling outside the breadth of Dwarven territory. He battles his race's enemies with a wild fervor. Stout and strong he was born to be a dwarven defender despite the call both inwardly and from the clergy itself to become a warrior of his god. |
| #63ravennightMar 22, 2007 23:45:11 | Name: Vinean Lysparil Vinean Lysparil was born to a commander in the palace guard of Cloudcrown Palace and a weaver, proving himself to the masters of the Evereskan Academy of magic and being sponsored to study there. In the Year of the Banner (1368), he was selected with some of his friends to make an expedition to Hellgate Keep to recover artifacts from the ruins after the shift in power with the death of Gryntharke. Weeks pass as they prevent a human band of Zhentarim from Loudwater from invading the hidden Aryvandaaran guardtower of Harenyanost in the woods south of that city, then move on up the veil, losing companions and rescuing two young dragons, who join their band. Finally they escape the keep into the tunnels leading to the Nameless Dungeon, and manage again to escape into the High Forest. He and his friends returned to the city with much rediscovered magic and recovered artifacts, donating some to the Academy, and a few to the temple of Corellon, then disperse into their various interests. He spends a long year in research of new spells and in mastering some of the magic he had recovered, along with crafting an exquisite coronet of woven gold and platinum bands. After more months of crafting, he finished Lysparil's Coronet, but was caught up in the Phaerimm War. Aiding in the recovering city, he joined the Crusade of Seveiril Miritar, he was then caught up in the plans of another horrific power hidden in eastern Moonsea that sought to slip its own influence into the forest. |
| #64ravennightMar 23, 2007 0:48:34 | Name: Evendur Huntsilver, aka Ivalasse Arsiirraleth, Chosen of Sehanine Born Evendur Huntsilver, the half-elven first child of Arndal Huntsilver, the third son of the families patriarch, and the one who was given the task of maintaining the family castle in Suzail, Evendur's mother was a moon elf priestess his father had met adventuring and married, but who died in childbirth. He became the hidden prisoner in the castle when his father married Dallindra Huntcrown only three years later and spent the rest of his childhood as a phantom of the castle, reveling in the affections of his father, but hiding from his stepmother and the human children she had with his father. Evendur's only friend was Connor Greyfeather, the young squire in the private guard of the castle, and the one assigned to accompany Evendur at all times when out in the city. They grow very close as they attend taverns and festhalls until a Cormaeril rival recognizes the signet ring on the young boy and in embarassment his stepmother turns him out onto the street, giving him coins to begin the adventuring career he had often dreamed about. Through mishap they discovered a long hidden cave of elven lore where three baelnorn lay hidden for millennia, and gave the two young men missions to complete. Their missions took them from the King's Forest, where the cavern of the baelnorn lay, to Secomber, then to Marsember and then Thay, recovering lost magic or important lore that was to be preserved and kept from the hands of the n'tel'quess. After a time the two returned to Suzail where Arndal overrode his wife's wishes and threw a revel in honor of his son's return. Evendur reenters life in Suzail, spending much of his time with Connor, who is now his lover, and in investing money into magical research. With the instruction of the baelnorn he learns to create items of ancient magic. The Cormaeril family sends assassins to the Huntsilver Palace to assassinate the family but Evendur sacrifices himself to a fireball that engulfed most of the would-be killers. His spirit flies to Arvandor but is returned later in the body of a winged elf-being, and acts as a messenger from Sehanine. After another adventure into Myth Drannor where he spends time in Windsong Tower studying the Nether Scrolls there, he reimerges after the goblin invasion and joins the army. He once again sacrifices himself to save hundreds of servicemen a violent death at the hands of gazneth, and again is taken to Arvandor. His return from Arvandor was to Evermeet, where he is a full-blood elf and aids in the defense of that land, in return, and with the secret favor of the priests of Sehanine, he is taught the rudiments of high magic, and inducted into that body. He then returns to Cormyr and joins in the crusade to return elves to Cormanthor. In my campaign, this fight is led by a warrior who has recovered the Warblade and Evendur is Grand Mage of Cormanthor. His age reflects years spent in Arvandor, learning the arts of magic and elven ways at the feet of Sehanine's servitors, and in defending the outer woods from periodic fiend raids. Name: Connor Greyfeather |

| #66ravennightMar 23, 2007 10:10:35 | 24 years old and level 28? It's sort of a confusing matter of dealing with time on different planes, he spent years and years in Arvandor fighting fiends as well, so it's hard to adjudicate that, but he has lived more years than 24, I think more like 50 or 60 |
| #67wallsMar 24, 2007 13:57:14 | Name: Maynard Wentwhistle, also known in local lore and stories as The Crazy Rat Maynard Wentwhistle was once a merry, fun loving, full of life adventurer. On one of his many escapades he found the blade known as Calathangas, The Rat Blade. The much befriended rogue succumbed to the blades lycanthropic powers, turning into the same creature it had turned so many into before, a were rat. Grief driven temporary insanity over came the small once hero, driving him into the depths of madness. He roamed the Dalelands, going east, a desperate, wild vagabond full of hatred for his state, helplessness and rage. Eventually the adventurer of so many deeds came to an understanding of his new state and in the process lost Calathangas. Making the Baldur's Gate area a temporary home, the much changed man leads his own life, living in the dark, nightmare plagued sleeps leading him from one seemingly meaningless quest to another. |
| #68littlecarp04Mar 25, 2007 23:53:22 | Name: Aravilar Floshin Aravilar was one of the Fey'ri imprisoned beneath Hellgate Keep, upon their escape, Sarya sent him to seek allies from the Drow, whom also wish revenge upon the surface elves. First Aravilar met up with some "spider-kissers" on the surface, and after much barganing, got a guide down to the seat of the Drows power, Menzoberranzan. After residing there for some time, and hearing of the drastic failure on the surface, a few assassination attempts were made against him, and having survived, Aravilar decided it was time to leave. Before he could escape the city, agents of Bregan D'aerthe approached him with an offer to join them, having his amazing skills at stealth and also having the ability to change form at will, would make him a very good agent for the mercenary group. Aravilar has been residing in Menzoberranzan for quite some time, and has recently been given orders to assist in the Calimshan operations and has found that his unique skills can make him just as useful on the surface as in the Underdark. He is now a "free agent" under direction of Bregan D'aerthe, and is currently under employ of various Pasha's for high dollar jobs, and is working his way up the ladder in Calimport. With the rumored return of the legendary assassin Artemis Entreri, it will be very interesting to see who will soon be on top of the hill for the moment. Aravilar is a dual Kukri wielding assassin, his two kukris are truly formidable, one is a +2 human bane elf bane Assassins(as the DMG Assassins dagger) Kukri. The other is a +3 Magebane energy aura Precision striking Kukri. Among these he also has various other items such as a Ring of Darkhidden, Rogues vest, and boots of teleportation. Another thing unbeknownst to Aravilar is that Bregan D'aerthe cast a contingent Maximized Delay Blast Fireball, set to fire whenever Aravilar is captured and attemptes to speak about Bregan D'aerthes secrets, the exact words will be spoken because the only things that he knows are what Bregan D'aerthe wanted him to know. He is able to take missions anywhere he needs to go, and with his Alter Form at will, he can fit in anywhere very easily. He speaks Elven, Common, Drow, Abyssal, and can read and comprehend Thorass. |

| #71king_neckchopperApr 13, 2007 13:02:46 | Name:King Neckchopper of The Shaar Ability Scores STR: 86 (+38) +12 enhancement +11 Rage +5 inherent King Neckchopper was a barbarian of the Stalking bear Tribe of the Shaar. He set out to adventure and was allied with a band of adventurers who were to protect a unique plant type creature. Plant creature granted its protectors powers in the form of a paragon template class. During his travels Neckchopper fought many creatures and villans. He was thrown into the jails of Altumbul for a assassination plot that went awry. But he escaped and fled to reunite with his companions. Eventually Neckchopper and his comrades were able to overthrow the evil rulers of Altumbul and were donned honoray Knights. After that Neckchopper sought to slay the evil Hag Queen who was forming a army of ice trolls in the Rasheman area. During that battle it was Neckchopper who slew the ice troll Leader Gen. Critical and the Hag queen herself. After some time one of Neckchoppers allies Gizzo became a noble of Altumbul and his province was under attack by vampires. During the battle Neckchopper was drained many levels, but only fled when he was not faced with immediate danger. Since Gizzo was no where to be found, and the fact that the people of Altumbul never treated him with respect, Neckchopper left them to their doom. He journeyed to Calimport and sought healing from the church of tempus but was insulted and rejected by the priest there. They sent him to the church of Sharess. This was because Neckchopper attended may Sharess' parties and respected the diety. After punching out the rejecting cleric of Temups, Neckchopper turned his back on that church and never looked back. He went to the Temple of Sharess, and was welcomed and received all the healing he needed. He was then presented with the opportunity to fight in the gladitorial arena and represent the church for one year. His payment would be in the form of a Sharessan artifact. Neckchopper fought many monsters of epic level single handedly and became the undefeated champion in that arena. Neckchopper made many pacts with different powers that be, one was a powerful vampire wizard named Verool. Neckchopper went to repay his debt. Verool wanted him to go to hell to retrieve a item. while he was in hell he was confronted by many devils and slew them easily enough, until he was confroted by a little girl. The girl was really a Pit feind with a message, Verool was wanting the item to use to unleash a Atropal on the Realms. Fearing what this abomination would do to his tribe, Neckchopper decided not to continue. He was teleported back to the Yuriwood for Verool but it was protected by a wall of force. Verool is still on his kill list. Neckchopper returned to Altumbul to save Gizzo. When he got there he killed their Queen, who he beileved was a vampire, and many others who tried to oppose him. The images of these actions were magically caputured a sent to Kingdoms through out the Realms. Many of these nations are now viewing Neckchopper as a menace and a threat. They are now forming war parties to invade the Sharr to capture him. Neckchopper never found Gizzo. Neckchopper's son was kidnapped by the Shadow Thieves of Amn, so he traveled there and with some aide he found and slew their leader who was being mainpulated by Demons. Neckchopper confronted these demons, a Marilith Ischopra and Gen. Astaroth. Neckchopper defeated Ischopra and saved his son, but Gen.Astaroth escaped. He is still on Neckchoppers kill list. Finally Neckchopper returned to the Shaar and by force united all of the nomadic tribes. He now prepares of invading armys from surrounding nations to attack. If you think this story is crazy all I have to say is I had a crazy Dungeon Master who put me through hell with this character. He created the paragon template Class Levels. In all honesty this character is kick ass powerful. |
| #72king_neckchopperApr 16, 2007 10:06:17 | Name: General Naraku General Naraku was once a Paladin of Torm the True. He was a skilled horseman and devoted paladin. One fateful day while searching evil, he sensed a great evil. He followed the trail and it led him to a Frost giant who was feeding on its last victim. Disgusted the horror of this act, he called out to Torm to grant him the strength to defeat this foul creature. Believing that Torm was with him Naraku charged the Giant and was slain with one blow of the creatures great axe. At that moment Naraku was torn. He could not believe that Torm would abandon him. In his final breaths he cried out for someone to take his soul in exchange for vengance. His faith turned to hatred because he felt that the whole church was a lie. Impora answered his pleas and raised him as a Death knight. Since that moment Naraku was placed into her army as the Major. His first duties were to guard a secret city/temple decicated to Impora and her following. During his first day on the job the city was assaulted by Champions of the forces of good. Naraku fought the inturders but they were too much for him and he was almost killed. his Knightmare Pestilence took his body to a pool of negative energy, where he healed. by the time he was strong enough to fight again he realized the battle was lost. A portal had opened during the battle and many of Impora's followers has went through seeking refuge. Naraku did the same. During the battle Imporas only divine Champion was also slain. Naraku felt the Goddess need a Champion to maintain her position and status, so he sought out someone who could bring the Champion back. He was sucessful in this task and was rewarded by the Diety for his insight. he was granted the gift of Dark speech, and was promoted to the rank of General of the Army. Together with the Champion, Naraku was given the task to retrieve stomach acid from the belly of a Terrasque. Again Naraku was sucessful. Since then Naraku has resided in Impora's new home plane. She is a new diety and it is Naraku's job to make sure the army is strong and prepared, for Impora has many enemies. |
| #73king_neckchopperApr 16, 2007 13:26:28 | Name: Shanti Ashtangi Most high of Kulixikantoos Shanti was born in Calimport, the son of a Pasha and heir to the family buisness. He was taught The Art at an early age. Soon he learned the vile nature of the family buisness and sought a way to escape. He went to his teacher so she could aid him, and she told him of a portal in the middle of a lake (whose name I cannot remember now), that leads to Silverymoon. Together the got a boat and traveled throught the portal, although his teacher did not go with him. Once Shanti got through the portal he really just wandered, until he heard the shouts of some people. He followed their screams and realized they were calls for help. He rushed to see some men who were in a pit, but could not understand why they were in danger. One of the men told him they were being crushed and he directed Shanti to the disableing mechanism. Shanti had saved them. These men were all adventurers, and because he had nothing better to do (and realized that he need their aid to survive) Shanti asked to join them. Shin-Ra the human monk of Lathander, Tabris the asimar, and Amiril the Red accepted Shanti into their ranks with open arms. He helped them to discover runes that were necessary to open a portal to a new land. When they got all the runes and opened the portal, Tabris immediately jumped in. Being that Tabris was a sorcorer who Shanti had come to rely upon for guidance, Shanti jumped through soon after. The two spellcasters found themselves in the middle of a huge forest. While traveling the area they heard someone who was under attack and saved the person using their magical abilities. to their suprise, the person was amazed with their talents and admitted that they had never saw anyone use magic in their lives. This is how Shanti and Tabris found out that they were in a land call the Kingdom of the 3 Headed Serpent and the use of magic was outlawed and punishable by death. Shanti and Tabris could not fathom this idea and from that moment pledged their lives to liberating the land of its current rulers, and restoring magical use through out the land. At first they opened up a book store and used it as a front for a spell books store and a place to teach minor cantrips to those they foung thay could trust. Eventually Shin-Ra, and Amiril joined them, and they all decided that it was soon time to take a stand. Something went terribly wrong, and the Dampeners, the only magic users in Kulixikantoos, assaulted Shanti in a public display. they tore out his eyes, and broke all the fingers in his hands, and even cut out his tounge. They then left him there to die. The Outlanders, which was what they were now know as, found out that a secret church of Mystra was in the south so Tabris and the others took Shanti there for healing. The Cleric there made Shanti promise to become a cleric of Mystra in exchange for full healing. Shanti did not hesitate to agree. These actions change Shanti's whole outlook on life. They also strengthened his determination to liberate the land. After some time and many battles they found ou the rulers of the land were puppets of Devils and Demons. Their battle had taken them across the outer planes. There was a Prophecy about the Outlanders and it was all about Tabris and the rings of Saris, magical items they had aquired from the Realms. By fulfilling the prophecy Tabris rose as the Diety Saris, who he was a ancestor of. After the final battle Shanti was taken by Mystra and for all his deeds and efforts was her First Chosen of Kulixikantoos. While Amiril chose to reside in the Fey Forest, Tabris was asended to the Heavens, Shanti remained with the people, who asended him to the throne of the whole continent of Kulixikantoos. Shanti created many magic friendly laws and after years of rule Kulixikantoos became a full fledged magocracy. Things were peaceful for along time, until one day Shanti just disapeared. He was gone for a long, long time. Another prophecy was found. Dampeners had returned and Kulixikantoos was once again a oppressed land. However, there were champions of the land that quested to fufill the prophecy. They were sucessful, and they had freed Shanti from his imprisonment in Impora's realm. together with these new heros, Shanti stormed her tower and battled her minions. He destroyed her Dampeners and then took the battle to Impora herself at her home dimension. It was Amiril who laid the killing blow on Impora. After these events retook his place uopn the throne and has worked hard to restore the land to its magical glory. Shanti Ashtangi is extremly intelligent and kind hearted. He is neutral good to a fault, and will help out almost anyone who desires it as long as it result in hurting others. He is opposes the shadow weave and the church of Shar. He will personally hunt down shadow weave users and either set them straight or slay them outright. Currently his former apprentice Red Top is a shadow weave user, but the two have come to terms that are aggreable. Red Top was once almost as powerful as Shanti, but Shanti has since then far surpasses him. He knows that if he get out of hand Shanti will be there. Shanti is the most powerful spellcaster in Kulixikantoos. Tabris has given up his divinity to be Shanti's personal advisor and guard, but Shanti calls him his best friend. Amiril the Red rules the Fey Forest, and they also have a understanding. The ranger Monkey one of the champions of Kulixikantoos, guards the outskirts of the Fey Forest. Shin-Ra went back to the Realms after liberating the lands the first time, and has never returned. |

Eventually he grew up and the years of physical abuse made him strong and tough. At a young age he was intorduced to the church of Cyric, and within its secret halls taught to fight with skill. When Nostrodamus was strong enough he killed his uncle and his own parents for allowing him to be abused. Then he did many missions od assassinations for the church, until one day he was betrayed by it high Cleric. During his travels he befriended a bladesinger known as Alcidies O'cyrus. Alcidies was a calming influence on his soul and mad Nostrodamus question his actions, before he took action. together they killed off Nostrodamus' enemies from the church of Cyric. From that point on Nostrodamus aided Alcides to establish a town, and was Alcidies personal guard. Nostrodamus came across a artifact, a gem encrusted gauntlet with many powers. This gauntlet brought with it many new enemies. Because of this a Dracolich attacked the town and killed many innocents. Alcidies ordered Nostrodamus to either remove the Gauntlet or leave the town. Nostrodamus decided to leave Alcidies and now roams the Realms in search of enemies who want the gauntlet. The Gauntlet itself is still incomplete and Nostrodamus is searching for gems that will complete it. He once had aspirations to become a Diety but those ideas are now removed. Now he is just focused on completing the Gauntlet of power. Nostrodamus is a two longsword wielding fighter, who is not afraid of anyone or anything. Although he was killed while killing the dracolich he was ressurected, by his lost brother who is a high cleric or Corellion. This is my first true character from 2e, and when 3e came I converted him and still played him alittle. He is semi-retired. He can be found anywhere in the realms at any given time. | #81lordnobbsMay 15, 2007 22:52:45 | This is a character I created for my campaign in the Realms, a few months ago, so his story is not complete yet, sorry about spelling mistakes, English isn’t my mother tongName: Gromarg, The Eye of Gruumsh No wan knows were Gromarg came from (that is no wan alive) but he has led orc hordes since that day nearly 230 years ago when he emerged from some deep dark hole in the upper Under Dark, some say that he came onto the world at the end of the Orcgate wars, others say that he is Gruumsh’s one son, others believe he is the great grand father of Obuld Many Arrows back form the dead. Whatever the truth, he is the greatest scourge the world has ever seen; he has led 4 great crusades (hordes) against the weaker races, crushed 2 dwarven holds, 3 Drow cities and still he lives. Gromarg, believes that orcs will won day conquer the world, but he understands that to do so they need unity, he doesn’t think twice about joining with other types of orcs (Mountain, Tanarukk, and Orog), he also uses half orcs as spies, and recognizes battle formations (he is a great strategist) he has also allied with giants dragons, fiends, and countless other types of monsters, to gain watt he wants, he dosent trust any of the "good" races, Drow, and vius most goblinoids as to weak to even bother about. He is currently about to send forth another crusade this time into the blood stone lands, to achieve it all, he has made deals, with everything from Frost giants, to a trio of Red Dragons that live in Vasa, his horde is believed to be about 350.000 Strong, with thousands of Giants, worgs, and even a few demons, all ready to charge against the Damaran defenders. Both the Zhentarim, and the red Wizards, know of this and are backing him up. He also wishes to meet the legendary Obuld many arrows, to bring more chaos to the Silver Marches (my campaigned is set accordingly to Salvatore’s novels, so the kingdom of many arrows does exist), and if possible even more to the south, maybe to Waterdeep her self. Gromarg, is considered a legend among all orcs, but he has a few close advisors (there is now word for friends in the orc tong) they are: Drashok: Male, Fiendish dire Wolf, it is a gift from Gruumsh himself, and has a deep connection to Gromarg ( as a familiar), it is also Gromarg’s favorite mount. Nortor: Male Orog, Ftr10/Bbr6, leader of Gromargs personal bodyguard, unknown to him Gromarg has cast a greater Geas, so that he will never betray him. :D :D Go Orcs!!!!!!!!!!!! :D |
| #82secher_nbiw45May 21, 2007 3:00:58 | Name: Dorian Ravindra After running away from home, Dorian found himself in a small, out of the way temple of Lathander. Enjoying the emphasis on athletics and perfecting the self, he devoted his life to the Morninglord, helping in the small village where ever he was needed. After being called upon to combat undead found in a nearby tunnel system, Dorian decided he would be of more service to Lathander by helping protect and defend other people in need. He and his friends recently destroyed a cell of the Cult of the Dragon, who were working in conjunction with worshippers of Bane, and some drow. He is currently preparing to travel to Myth Drannor, hoping to destroy more of Banes followers. |

| #87zombiegleemaxMay 24, 2007 4:50:54 | Name: Sir Vane Bowen of the purple dragons Level: Paladin 7/Wizard (Evoker) 5/Purple dragon knight 5/War wizard of Cormyr 5/Mage killer 2 Alignment: LG Deity: Tyr Gender/Race:Chondathan human male Chosen of Tyr DoB/Age:Born 1326 DR disappeared 1372 DR Region: Cormyr Vane was born in a tiny hamlet at the southern shore of Sembia. One night when Vane was only seven years old, the hamlet were attacked by dragon cultist wizards that used powerful magic to decimate the town, leaving young Vane one of the three survivors. A Cormyrian merchnat took pitty in the boy and brought him back home to Suzail, where he placed the youngster in the care of the church of Tyr. The senior clerics quickly recognized the righteous soul of Vane, and he was brought up as a paladin. He was squired to an older and more experienced paladin and the two travelled together for some years clearing out bandits and goblinoids. During the Time of troubles, Vane was busy trying to restore some order to the chaos that was happening at that time, then when the Tuigan invasion came, he was knighted for his efforts in driving out the tuigans. After that he worked briefly as a Justiciar in Suzail, hunting down the worst of the city's underworld, where he and his adventuring companions (a royal falconer and a priest/bard of Milil) managed to clear out a cult of entropy (Tiamat) that was trying to get a foothold in Cormyr. The companions finally managed to find the mastermind of this ploy, a Red dragon that had become a darklord of the dreaded demiplane of Ravenloft. He wanted to subjugate Cormyr into his own domain, but was finally stopped by the adventurers that ensured that the red dragon became forever imprisoned in Ravenloft. Later the adventurers stopped Cyricists that tried to make the most powerful nobles in Cormyr read the Cyrinishad so that they could control the realm. The cyricists avenged tehmselves by killing Vane's wife and turning her into an undead abomination. Vane retributed by starting a crusade against the cyricists of the eastern heartlands. For his effort in routing out the Cyrisists he became a chosen of Tyr given him, amongst other powers, the power to sense lies flawlessly, to see through illusions and magical disguises and to mark those who tried to escape justice so that he could flawlessly track them down. During this time, Vane discovered that he had an affinity for the art, and aided by Elminster and Vangerdahast he learned how to use it. After the loss of his wife, vane retired, becoming an advisor and bodyguard to the royal family as well as an instructor for the purple dragons and the war wizards. When Cyrisists plotted to start their own crusade against the small nation of Haranshire, Vane's friends asked him if he would aid them. The invasion soon proved to be a ploy for something far greater, as demons and devils appeared from numerous gates, and they found that they were in the middle of an unholy battle between the newly risen Bane and Cyric. The Banites were quickly driven off by the combined forces of the Haranshire army and the Cyricists. But Cyric had placed agents in the Haranshire ranks and one of them tried to Kill the King of Haranshire, Valiantly Vane jumped betwwen the assassin and the king, taking the lethal blow that would have claimed the king's life. The blade was enchanted so that the soul of those killed would become transferred directly to Cyrics realm in pandemonium, and currently Vane's soul is trapped in that mad deity's realm. |
| #88zombiegleemaxMay 24, 2007 10:38:52 | Name: Isalil, the Night Queen *Description: Styling herself as the Night Queen of Sharrven, Isalil is a mysterious elven female who has laid claim to the last standing structure of that elven realm. Ruling over a small, melancholy court of fatalistic or even depraved elves, Isalil claims to be a direct descendant of the last coronal of Sharrven. Nothing is known of Isalil until she and a small group of followers arrived at the last standing ruin of Sharrven known as Farsilver**. The few Eldreth Veluuthra operatives that were using the tower as a base did not put up resistance as Isalil and her “court” managed to enter the ancient fortress and claim it as their own. Over the next few months, Isalil gradually set up her twisted mockery of an elven court, presiding over balls, feasts, and court functions involving the same group of guests. The few elves from the outside world, including representatives of the Eldreth Veluuthra sent back to see if Isalil was a potential ally, who have seen these events are rarely heard from again. Those that have emerged from Isalil’s tower are changed somehow and describe the galas as being melancholy or like seeing true elven festivities through a thick gray mist. Isalil has only a few dozen followers and a few of these conduct patrols over a small area of the former elven kingdom of Sharrven. Those that they encounter are told that they are trespassing in Isalil’s realm and that Sharrven has been reborn. Recently, the new coronal of Cormanthyr*** became aware of Isalil’s presence in the High Forest and sent a small party under Chaayla Mistrivven to investigate the legitimacy of the Night Queen’s claim to royal blood. Isalil appears as a pale but hauntingly beautiful moon elf. Her deep blue-black eyes betray an overwhelming feeling of sadness that can cause onlookers to fall into a gray despair while in her presence. She typically dresses in minimal clothing, but is always seen wearing an elaborate crown. Most who meet the Night Queen of Sharrven never leave her tower, becoming new participants in the parade of twisted festivities that characterize her court. * I have tons of NPC's that I would love people's comments and help on, but I didn't want to seem arrogant and start a whole thread. Many of my NPC descriptions reference other NPC's. Sorry, but they all link together in some way. If people would like to see more, let me know. **Described in Lost Empires of Faerun, p. 91 ***Campaign specific event |

| #90straploknightMay 25, 2007 1:00:49 | Indeed, this is the census and it is not picky, besides, those dwarves need some help as indicated by Bitter Thorn. :D If it were The Book of Abeir Toril a critique of NPCs, one might be reticent to post thier work but it isnt so bring it on ![]() |
| #91zombiegleemaxMay 26, 2007 16:07:54 | Here's some more of the NPCs that meander about MY Realms...Name: Garthossa Formerly a mischievous trickster that enjoyed bringing misfortune into the lives of others and singing the glories of her goddess, Garthossa's perspective of life and luck changed significantly after an encounter with an old priest who continues to follow the ways of Tyche. She has been considering joining the old man's efforts to carry on the faith in the dead luck goddess, however, she has not yet been able to muster the faith in Tyche to allow her to cast spells as her new mentor does. ======================================== Name: Avilda SeKorc Always interested in the art of construction, Avilda's parents were proud when she joined the clergy of Gond. Her father, a well-travelled merchant who brought exotic items of art and craft with him in addition to his spice trade, inspired young Avilda with toys from far away lands. When she learned her parents were killed by drow only a few days after setting out for the far east, the young cleric turned her skills to weapons of war. She'd read about smokepowder weapons in the past and begun crafting them in hopes of improving on existing designs. With vengeance always in the back of her thoughts, Avilda takes several of her newest creations with her for field tests against the drow inhabiting the Cormanthyr forests. To ensure her safety should her her creations misfire, she usually hires an adventurers or mercenary company passing through Highmoon. Depending on the size of the group and trouble encountered, she usually pays with one or two of her older (and proven reliable) smokepowder weapons. ======================================== Name: Windy Bloodriver Formerly a devout follower of Selûne, Windy Greenblade put on a cursed magical item that drastically altered her moral compass. Not realizing she had been cursed, she felt as though she had an epiphany and that her life in service to the Harpers was some kind of trick. She turned on her nearest allies and swore an oath, covered in their blood, to destroy the Harpers. Using knowledge gained as a trusted ally, Windy tracked down several members she knew personally and surprised them with her fierce surprise attack. Those she could not reach personally, she betrayed to enemies such as the Zhentarim. When word finally spread that one of their own had turned traitor, Windy had already gone into hiding. Well aware of the powerful forces she had provoked, she sought aid from the church of Shar and traded secrets for shelter. In time, she came to respect the Mistress of the Night and her secretive ways and was initiated into the dark goddess's faith. ======================================== Name: Bartokk of Adbar Pragmatic by nature, Bartokk eschews the faith of his people. He doesn't much care for the gods at all, but he does respect the practical need for them. He found the ideals of strategy and war of Red Knight much more to his liking and won't join a mercenary company who maintains clerics of any who oppose his god. As fighters go, Bartokk seems rather lazy. He refuses to wear heavy armor and prefers to stay in the back of a battle and fire crossbow bolts at his enemies. If forced into a melee confrontation, however, those who mistake his laziness for weakness are chargrinned by his capabilities. A rather average specimen of his kind, Bartokk knows how to strike hard and move fast to overwhelm his foes. ======================================== Name: Ariadne of Tilverton The daughter of farmers, Ariadne joined the local militia in Tilverton against her parents' wishes. She was oft clumsy, sometimes outright bumbling, and they were afraid she get herself killed. When Tilverton was lost, what was left of Ariadne's unit had been absorbed by a legion of purple dragon soldiers. For a time, she was stationed at High Horn Keep. There, she was trained in the ways of a soldier and managed to survive several dangerous situations in spite of herself. Her commanding officer recognized her luck and realized the frontier was no place for her, no matter how brave and determined she seemed. When the opportunity presented itself, she was sent to Suzail. There, a series of lucky breaks lead to her being moved from guard duty at the gates to, eventually, her current post as a palace guard. |
| #92merrikcaleMay 26, 2007 21:57:38 | I like Windy, what kinds of weapons does she walk around with? |
| #93zombiegleemaxMay 27, 2007 8:44:34 | One weapon: a +1 Unholy Shock Vicious Great Sword She used to be more of a long sword & short sword combatant, but the new weapon suits her new "I wanna really mess you up" personality. |
| #94zombiegleemaxMay 27, 2007 14:08:00 | Name: Sir Mordayn Archonsoul Champion of Torm and Raziel Level: Paladin of Torm 5/Fist of Raziel 10/Fighter 6 Alignment: LG Deity: Torm Gender/Race: Human Tethyrian male DoB/Age: 1331 DR, 33 years old Region: Tethyr, The planes, Alternate crystal spheres A noble and just champion of Torm and the triad and a defender of his homeland of Tethry for many years, Mordayn found his true calling on the planes where he joined the order known as the Fists of Raziel and began to hunt down demons and devils wherever they could be found. He got involved in a quest to stop an enigmatic being that proclaimed to be the mortal father of the god Bane. This powerful creature was trying to open a doorway to an alternative crystal sphere that had been closed off from all other worlds because of a terrible unfathomable evil that resided there. To stop him Mordayn and his companions had to find and seal several portals that in conjunction could open a doorway to this alternative universe, releasing the evil, known only as oblivion into the known multiverse. But the adventurers were tricked by the man who proclaimed to be the father of Bane, he had actually used them to open the gates, since he needed someone of a pure heart and soul to do it in their own free will. So now the heroes had to make up for their mistake an travel to the closed of crystal sphere to seal the portals from the inside. On the other plane tehy learned that oblivion had long since consumed all the good gods of their pantheon, and only evil reigned. The emperor of the largest empire was himself a demigod, and unknown to himself, he was also one of the portals that needed to be shut. The only key that could close this gate was a powerful sword that the heroes had to travel between the worlds to assemble. Only a paladin could use this sword, so in the end, Mordayn had to enter single combat with the emperor god. After a VERY hard battle, Mordayn was finally victorious. The quest is still going on and wether Mordayn and his companions will succeed i do not know. Currently they are roaming the underdark in search for an illithid wrought artifact that is said to be the key needed to close the next gate. |

| #96alediranJun 04, 2007 14:15:18 | There are two version, the one I'm currently DMing at 1372 DR and the one at 1374 DR (he became trully powerful in those years) 1372 DR version: Name: Alediran Tir'ent, Air Elemental Savant of Aerdrie Faenya Alediran is the youngest member of House Tir'ent, an old noble house who split from the Durothils barely two hundred years after the first elves of Aryvaandar arived at Evermeet's coasts. Rhistel Durothil, son of Rolim Durothil and Ava Moonflower created this clan, renaming himself Rhistel Tir'ent. His idea was to maintain a record about the living history of Toril, he devised many magical artifacts to acomplish this. At this moment House Tir'ent is regarded as the most knowledgeable about N'Tel'Quess of all elven families. Alediran is young, but already show promise in his Art and he has a burning desire, to see the wonders of Myth Drannor like where told by his uncle Unelas, who lived there. He is now part of an adventuring band consisting of elves and they are risking their lives to uncover a Sharran plot to weaken the city of Silverymoon, a sister-city of Myth Drannor. 1374 DR version: Name: Alediran Tir'ent, Air Elemental Savant of Aerdrie Faenya, Archmage of Wind, Spell-Major of Cormanthyr After many hardships that included a long travel in the underdark city of Maerymidra where one of Alediran's friends discovered the lost Warblade of Cormanthyr on a hidden chamber, surviving against the maddened dragons in 1373 DR and becoming with his friends a true asset to the Elven Crusade thanks to their well coordinated efforts, Alediran finally realizes his dreams, and more, when he found the lost Artblade along with it's last wielder, the bladesinger Josidiah Starym. Alediran was accepted by the Ary'Faern'Kerym just a moment before his greatest enemy, an old rival from the Towers of Sun & Moon became divorced of the Weave when he tried to take the Artblade to show Alediran who was the best of both. The next day after the Crusade was over, Alediran was visited by Unelas, his uncle, who revealed him with a big smile, all his plans to make Alediran the newest Spell-Major. After that revelation, Unelas finaly passes to Arvandor, having accomplished his life work, leaving the final words of wisdom to his shaken nephew in a Tel'Kiira that carries Unelas' memories. |
| #97leukrythusJun 04, 2007 15:17:15 | Name: Leukrythus Tmaj'Vrye Being the egotistical prick I am, I like to be seen in public, especially as a hero or leader. I seldom use invisibility or disguise, because my ego does not permit a low profile. But I am not stupid, I know when to stand out, how to stand out, and when not to. While adventuring I like to take point, because I am better than anyone else. And I want to see what is there first. I view myself as a noble warrior and my magic is used to enhance my abilities. But I am a spell caster, not a fighter. I will bravely lead an attack on an inferior foe, but will quickly fall back if necessary. I am not a caster of fireballs or other spells that draw unwanted attention during battle, because spell casters are often targeted. I have the deepest respect for and loyalty to my associates and want them to be as prosperous as possible, but I am better than they are and deserve more of the spoils of victory. For that reason, certain treasures found are secretly taken as compensation. I have risked my life many times for them, and have used my resources and influence to help and hinder them in covert ways. During adventures the safety and success of the group always comes first, but business and politics are another matter. Information is at a premium and I never give it away. Some have called me a compulsive liar, but I never lie when the life of an associate is involved. I am an adept political player and businessman and have contacts with most of the merchant guilds worldwide. Misinformation is part of the game and keeps my enemies and rivals off guard. I do not trust anyone, info must be verified before it is of use. As the leader of the Blood Red Mushroom Trading Company and the power behind the throne in Nashkel (may contradict gospel, so what), my goal is to create beneficial market opportunities for myself. What good is power if I am not getting wealthy from it? I always try to hide my chaotic and evil nature from the general public. But when left to be myself, I am as ruthless and nasty as they come. Becoming a vampire has only contributed to that. As a male Drow I knew my part in society and how to play the game per the rules set by Lolth. I knew how, when and where to cheat and kill. Lovers came and went, but everyone needed the herbs and oils I sold. I have a need to be owed favors by others, and to know their business and secrets. Now I follow Kiaransalee, and feel much freer to be myself. Note: Still 2nd edition, I dropped from Mage-18/Assassin-18 to 9th level. Return to Menzoberranzan: I was hired to escort a merchant to Menzoberranzan to sell some scrolls. Once there our party (8 Drow) was recruited as mercenaries by both sides in a battle between two minor Houses. The party decided to fight for House Millithor, but I agreed to secretly work for House Nurbonnis after learning that Millithor was a scion of House Baenre. Before the battle started I assassinated the Millithor Patron Krecil and later Priestess Carcelan. As the battle started I released an Earth Elemental that crashed through the compound gate from the inside. I convinced my associates to switch sides, and we looted the compound of its treasures before the Nurbonnis got them. As thieving mercenaries we fled via teleport before we were captured. My contact Second Priestess Elsanor Armgo then assigned me to infiltrate House Vandree, to facilitate its takeover by her house. I joined the Bregan d’Aerthe Guild and was allowed to assume ownership of the Mush Room by killing its owner Phaeryl. It was my old family compound. I used my Charisma to become the plaything of Matron Troken’ther Vandree. Noting that House Barrison coveted the Vandree compound, I negotiated a deal that allowed Houses Vandree and Barrison Del’Armgo to swap compounds and become a scion of House Barrison. During the swap the Barrison attack force was marching to attack the Vandree compound, but made a right turn toward the Horlbar compound. The House Vandree defense force had went out to meet the Barrison force, passed it, and attacked the compound of House Myrip who had been competing with Vandree gem interests. The compound swap was completed, and House Vandree was credited with a tactical win and was awarded House Hunzrin’s #15 ranking. There's a heck of alot more, I kept good notes. Despite my being CE, the rest of the party was usually better off for my actions. After being driven out of Menzo, our group wondered the Sword Coast and made our share of enemies in Waterdeep and Baldur's Gate. After I took over Nashkel and renamed it Tmaj'Vrye City (there's that ego again), I flew the flag of Amn because the Shadow Thieves found me willing to attack Iron Throne interests. |

| #102leukrythusJun 04, 2007 16:04:48 | Name: Arch-Wizard Raguhael Hokerputz the Great I considered myself to be a Good being, and find the immorality around me to be very oppressing and disturbing. As a Gray Elf loner living amongst Humans, I had learned to accept some of them as near equals. I try not to make it so obvious that I am of superior breeding, but it is usually very difficult to hide. Other surface dwellers such as Dwarves, Gnomes, Halflings, Reptilians, Sylvans and barbarian Elves have the right to exist as long as they know their places. But the races that hide under the ground and in swamps are scum and have to be exterminated like vermin, no matter what the cost. Especially the Dirt Elves. I have been told that I have an irritating personality and am cowardly and lazy. The few individuals that do not find me annoying did find my past familiar, the Pseudo-Dragon Tomaret to be annoying. If I do not get a good eight hours of rest I am more obnoxious than usual. I guess that I have grown soft in my many years and taken an extreme dislike to changes in temperature, precipitation, and odors. I was cursed to never be able to consume potions, by consuming a cursed potion of artifact strength. While investigating an enemy’s castle on the Elemental Plane of Fire, I touched a cursed artifact that caused me to grow a pair of Efreet horns. I despise having them, and will often bump them on low hanging objects. I often appear as a Solar (Shape Change), but that's more for show than anything else. My ultimate goal is to become an Elemental Prince, either Air or Fire. Before joining the Harpers (we were Harpers before they existed), our coterie had become known as the Avengers of Doom, an elite multiracial squad of anti-evil warriors. The Avengers had been highly successful in exterminating evil cults such as those who followed Set and Nergal, pushed back evil civilizations such as the Drow (Dirt Elves), Duergar and Kuo-Toa, and destroying evil powers such as the Medusa Queen, the Lich Perovius and many Greater Demons and Devils. For all of our successes, we were labeled as self-righteous extremists who only wanted to line our own pockets with plundered loot. Some misguided individuals had claimed that I never paid my fair share for helping to rebuild a city after cleansing it, and kept all the plunder for myself. But they did not realize the costs involved with magical research and spell components. But a lot of that so-called plundered loot of mine did go to rebuild the cities that were leveled as a result of our operations. The rest of my share (the greater percentage) went into the funding of more magical research and supplies. The Avengers reign of victories came to an end after we assaulted the fortress of the Great Wyrm Blue Dragon Talomir, who had long tormented us. We also did not do well fighting Mephistopheles on the Eighth Hell either. Of the eight Avengers only Hyratha, Zavarel and I survived (all Gray Elf Wizards). But as time passed, the surviving members of the AoD split up and went our separate ways. |
| #103leukrythusJun 04, 2007 16:28:31 | Name: W. Frederick Litigus, Attorney at Law "Weasel" (his given name) is a Sorcerer, Lawful Neutral with Evil tendencies. As a follower of Saint Cuthbert, he values the law above all else. In fact his profession is Lawyer. Recently I was chosen to defend a Goblin Wererat Thief and his Ogre Barbarian henchman from fallacious charges levied by the dishonest and self-righteous followers of Pelor. After proving that no laws were broken (ad nausium legalese), the three of us left town and arrived at the keep of a demon worshiping Half Fiend Priestess. I made it clear to the three of them that I was not part of their group, but would stay on retainer for them as their legal adviser. Since my fee was based on percentages, I would take a percentage of their income as a group. I proceeded to speak with the fiendish Priestess about her activities, and what she could do to practice as she wished without violating any of the laws of the city-state. That came in handy as as the king sent an army to destroy the keep. I met the commander of the army (a Fighter player) and his Wizard adviser (a player), and I stated that his orders were illegal. The Goblin Rogue had already left for a rival city-state to stir up some trouble elsewhere, and the Barbarian rejoined his multi-racial tribe to recruit it for an upcoming war. The Fighter and Wizard joined me in an inspection of the keep, and an interview (interrogation) with Priestess. No crimes were in evidence. Legality is a concept that is shaped by the skill of the lawyer, and decided upon by the judge. A lawyer's job is to manipulate the shape of the law based on his interests. The judge is supposed to hear both sides, and make an impartial decision based on their interpretation of the law. If one side believes their case is lost or wrong, they may stop pursuing it. The charge against my client is that she has practiced Infernalism, and the penalty for that is Imprisonment (spell) and seizure of assets. My defense was that while she admits to having practiced Infernalism, she has never practiced it inside the domain of the kingdom, and therefore the law does not apply to her. I said that ignoring the "limits of domain" would put unnecessary restraints on what his army could do while outside the borders of the city-state. And if local laws are applied universally, then there were multiple legal systems that applied to her. And if that were the case, then he would be at risk of prosecution (if he attacked) if her activities were deemed legal under another system. |

| #107drew1369rJun 05, 2007 16:51:18 | Name: Hasa Calas Hasa has had a very turbulant adventuring career, he started out by accidently being pulled into Undermountain were he fought his way as best he could with a group of adventurers that had the same fate. Finally striking a deal with Halaster to retrieve him a monster only known to be found on the plane Greyhawk. After retrieving killing the monster and bringing it back for him he let us leave... with a big sigh of relief. During the time in undermountain the group made a very powerful enemy, a wizard from Nimbral. We went on many quest and adventures which landed us back in time to Ancient Netheril to find four artifacts belonging to then Lord Shadow, we just catologed their location to give to Alustrial, but Shadow came from behind and took them all back. We made our way to Ascolorn and watched in horror as Karsus cast his spell and saw the magic stop and the great cities fall. At that point Hasa learned of his true heritage when he grasped Arcstaff of Khavoerm and the full ability to use its powers. He could be a Coronal. The mission from there was to thwart the Mage at every possible step, which led us to the place where gods walk. We there battled the wizard and his rogue cohort to try and stop them from challanging a god in an attempt to take their divinity, but we failed. We watched as the wizard and rogue defeated Mask and Shar and there for now newly appointed gods in the realms. To continue the fight we then traveled to the abyss to find a gate leading to Cynososer(sp?) and was annointed to enter with the blood of Mystra so we may enter. We plead our case to AO that the mage and rogue had used the body of a dead god (Karsus) to win the fight against Mask and Shar. Ao agreed and from there stripped the Mage and rogue of their divinity and returned Mask and Shar to life to which they were greatly appreciative of our efforts granted us a wish, which we thankfully all declined and that returning them was not for them but against the Mage. We returned to Silverymoon where we rested when out of nowwhere an individual riding two horses, standing one foot on a black horse and a white horse. Hasa sprang into a defensive stance and waited... the individual dismounted and attacked Hasa causing massive damage but not enough to kill... Hasa attacked back missing the first swing but connecting on the second and third (rolled a nat 20 and confirmed with a second Nat 20 and rolled a d100 for the varible upon which I rolled a 100%... the dice was with me that day) severing the individuals head. He put his sword away which terrified Hasa that he wasn't dead with that strike walked over and put his head back on... "It takes bravery to attack your enemies, but even more courage to attack your God!" Then he realized who he was fighting... Tempus... Hasa stood firmly lowering his sword when Tempus walks over and using his acidic like blood drew his holy symbol upon Hasa's chest and then disappeared. Hasa was teleported to Evermeet by a high mage because Amluril(sp?) wished to speak to him after she found out about his royol lineage and newly Chosen status to take over the armies of Evermeet. Hasa gracefully declined the offer decided to take up residence in a town in much more suited to his abilities promply left for Battledale and the Abby of the Sword to were he resides today in the battle against the Drow and their spread throughout Cormanthor. |
| #108merrikcaleJun 15, 2007 21:09:58 | Name: Dorran Villich Dorran Villich like many of his faith is a wanderer. He has seen his share of adventures but has never stayed with any one band long enough to form close bonds. He wandered much of Faerun, until he received a vision from his patron. On that day, he traveled west from the Dales to land in Neverwinter. He soon discovered that the city was planning something grand, a new road to the Silver Marches in attempt to increase trade and caravan travel from that burgeoining area to Neverwinter's port. Dorran quickly became an important figure in blazing that trail, helping to root out monsters and making the road safe. Weidling his mace (unlike many of his brethren who prefer the sword favored by thier god) he is a deadly champion. At each small stopover along the way- of which there are a few-he consecrated a small shrine to his god. As a result, Shandaukal has grown in worshippers along the Winter's Trail. Perhaps that was the meaning of his vision, perhaps not. As Neverwinter prospers from this new trade, Dorran grows restless for some new path to follow, some new trail to blaze. It is almost time for him to move on. |

Evrain stands at about six feet tall with red hair and dark blue eyes that seem to have their own glow. He is absolutely fascinated with energy manipulation, psionics, planar travel, and fighting. Lord Evrain has made himself many enemies during his travels, mostly demon lords, Illithids, and Githzerai. He is arrogant, but not to the point of folly, and very confident in himself and the kingdom of Kael'tetur. When in combat, whether it's aiding a countryman or any of a number of psionicists that he has been keeping track of he holds nothing back once he has calculated how much energy he believes will get the job done, although if he believes his enemy can be redeemed he'll offer the chance. Mostly the offer doesn't last long and when it ends it's usually accompanied by the whoosh of incoming energy assaults. When on Toril he mostly keeps himself disguised acting behind the scenes to help people he finds 'deserving' a better station in life. | #115ShedeoJul 06, 2007 12:20:57 | Name: Shedeo Angorn Khan (his title as leader of his organization) Shedeo is a self-proclaimed baron, but with this vast resources of knowledge, wealth, and power, none really attempt to dispute it. Leader of an organization known as the Attilian Agency (named after one of my favorite poets) he is able to uncover nearly any piece of information. Preferring to stay out of political swaggerings of other powerful organization such as the Harpers, his agency primarily takes work from other clients, and operate primarily as informants and spies for nearly anybody. However, as a gesture of good faith, he gives the Lords of Waterdeep an outrageous discount. No one is quite sure what Shedeo truly is, or hoertyuiop as he is mysterious as he is charming. He appears to be a middle-aged to elderly sun elf, but with a stature beyond any elf, standing nearly six and a half feet tall with a broad-shouldered muscular frame. He wears expensive black and gray silk robes and a heavy black long coat over top with white-furred trim. He is nearly never seen without his ruby-topped black cane. Name: Taurnil "Flaw" Surion Taurnil Surion was once a powerful cleric among the priesthood of Correllon Larethian, and was rather successful. He was not terribly famous or prestigious, but he was well-off and secretly a console and lover to a dark elf priestess of Eilistraee, using his magic to keep the affair hidden. However, just after the nycaloths were freed from their prisons in Myth Drannor, Taurnil's secret was discovered. When Taurnil was away, a group of radicals captured the priestess and executed her on the pretense that she was drow, and must have therefor been part of a plot to free the nycaloths. Upon Taurnil's return home, he was struck through with a myriad of emotions, from heart-broken grief to world-splitting anger. During the carnage of the fall of Myth Drannor, Taurnil nearly went completely mad, and found his spellcasting removed. In a dream, he was set upon and devoured by a swarm of flesh-eating spiders. When he awoke, he found himself in the court of Lolth, who saw him as a key and pivotal force in her schemes against the surface elves. He swore fealty to her, and was granted powerful weapons and armor upon his return to Myth Drannor. Seemingly taking up a leadership role in the nycaloth (or rather, that is how it appeared) he hunted down his old friend, the ranger and leader of the extremists that had killed the priestess, and slew him with new divine magic to back him. After the fall of Myth Drannor, he was told by Lolth to await her call. And, so he obeyed his new mistress. Wandering into the underdark, however, he soon found himself in a spot of trouble. He entered into a bout with a powerful Mindflayer and it's thralls, and lost. This Mindflayer, however, decided not to devour or enslave the powerful elf, instead using him for it's twisted experiments. But the experiment only partially worked. The Mindflayer was attempting to find a way to create thralls that were controllable, had a plethora of psionic potential and abilities, and no memory of their past lives so that they did not attempt to free themselves to return to their old ways. But Taurnil still remembered all of his past experiences and, perhaps thanks to the blessing of Lolth, his divine powers. The Mindlfayer could not have been more pleased. It kept Taurnil, giving him the name "Flaw" thanks to the error in his design, and made the former elf its personal aide. Flaw used his new abilities and studied under the tutelage of the Mindflayer, becoming a power psion. In the time between then and present day, this Mindlfayer, Arbaxian, has evolved into an Elder Brain, becoming the leader of its own coven of Ilithid. Taurnil reveres the Mindflayer god of Ilsensine, and even though Arbaxian knows it's student's true goals and motivations, continues to allow him those pleasures. He has even informed Flaw that, should the time come that Lolth does call upon him again, that it's Mindlfayers will be at Flaw's (and, therefor, Lolth's) disposal, at least in part. Those are the only ones that I'm going to be doing at the moment. I've got so many, but those are primary ones. I've played both of them at some point, but they have since faded into NPC-dom, used by all three of the DMs I play under to some extent. |
| #116wallsJul 06, 2007 16:00:57 | This isn't a complaint or insult whatsoever but how does one become 30th or 40th level? In playing a character quite regularily for over 2 years in 2ed, I only reached 20something. |
| #117merrikcaleJul 06, 2007 20:49:11 | This isn't a complaint or insult whatsoever but how does one become 30th or 40th level? In playing a character quite regularily for over 2 years in 2ed, I only reached 20something. There is a certain element that start their characters off at advanced levels. I myself do not like this approach as I always liked characters more when I build them to that level. But different strokes, ya know |
| #118wallsJul 06, 2007 21:02:00 | Yeah, it takes the joy out of playing the character. This is my primary complaint about FR nowadays. It is 100% a players game. The DM's are almost shackled with canon and in such a high powered world no one wants to start at lvl 1. Who wants to fight kobolds when you can fight the Shadovar. |
| #119ShedeoJul 06, 2007 21:21:31 | Taurnil started at level 5, and made it to 23. Shedeo only ever made it to 25, and was brought in as a level 15 after my drow bard was taken away. The builds that were actually given (or, rather, the levels) were for them as the final decision for NPC stats. *nods* Personally, after playing them, I came to the conclusion that I don't like levels after 12. |

The DM's are almost shackled with canon and in such a high powered world no one wants to start at lvl 1. Who wants to fight kobolds when you can fight the Shadovar. What you and Shedeo are talking about is a common problem. What do you do when a party of 10th level players loses a PC, you start a new 10th (or so) level player. Plus, I never had a problem with players who don't want to start at 1st level, I always though 3rd or 4th is OK, especially of the story of how these PCs came together fots a scenario where they have some experience in the adventuring gig. |
| #121ShedeoJul 08, 2007 3:13:11 | Well, one of the big things that's happened, the thing that has turned me off to higher-level campaigns, was that after a year and a half of DnD experienced, I was elected by my party to take over the reigns as DM. The campaign that I first DMed was a level 30 campaign with 12 people. I don't know why I thought it was a good idea, but it has... Hardened me a bit, I suppose. Anyway, those two are the most prominant NPCs in the old game. I'll probably post more, the lower-level NPCs for my upcoming game, and then I'll post my players' characters. |

| #125ShedeoJul 08, 2007 20:49:44 | Well, we didn't fight anything to get to that level. The first DM had got us up to level 15, then decided to stop handing out experience. So we went an entire campaign arc witout getting any XP or treasure. The second DM, the one before me, took the reigns and said "Okay, since we never leveled up, we all go our seperate ways (which was totally out of character for our party) and then return a year later. When we meet back, we're all level 30!" My response? To quote: "..." |

Name: Warren Grayscorn Warren is a low ranking priest of Tyr working for the main temple in Suzail. He has been sent to Wheloon to aid the local purple dragons in rooting out crime and corruption left in the wake of the last war. They had just gotten settled in in 1337 when the goblin hoards started attacking the town. Aya, her Brother Fretch and her brother’s Friend Cale Alexander came up with a plan. Together the three snuck into the Goblin ecampment and took down the goblinoid leaders, only to find a Young silver dragon trapped in the mines the goblins were using as a base of operations, they freed the young silver and the silver in return allowed them to mine the arandur that was predominate in her cave, her home. Soon the town became friendly with the dragon and she took to protecting Drake’s watch. So the town took its name from its protector. Soon they would deal with other issues as well for a tribe of Storm giants was living below Drake’s watch in a very rich ice steal vein, again though diplomatic channels the town formed an alliance with the giants, gaining their support in protecting Drakes watch as well. Cale upon learning the truth of his existance left Aya and his Children. Aya stayed in Drakes watch for a good few years before she started traveling a bit, not anyfarther then the Marches but that was enough. Aya heard that they people of the black blood were running rampant in the Marches especially a near a city called Quarvar she went to assit, Although she suceeding in assisting, she failed in another way. One of the wear rats got ahold of her. Her first change happened and Aya managed some sybolence of control thanks to a traveling dwarfen priest of Selune. It was about this point that Cale returned from his travels having come to truth of what he was. Little Analie and Cale Jr were now 7 and theymet tierfather for the first time and were seperated from thiher mother for Aya did not wish for the change to completely overwhelm her so she left with the Selunite to a compound specifically set up to help people like her. The next three years were tough for Aya, but thankfully the compound was not far from her home and Aya got a few chances to see her family. Cale through his Paladinal abilities knew each and every time Aya returned that she had not let herself fall to the evil that was predominate amoung others like her, Lycanthropes. And one day Aya had learned enough that she was able to return to her home on a permant basis. And soon Aya was carring yet another child of Cales, a son. After her son was born Aya continued her visits to the good Lycanthrop community. It was only through Cale’s Unique heritage that their youngest child was not born a Lycanthrope. | #129Eli_the_TannerJul 31, 2007 18:57:35 | Name: Mourn Nightwhisper History Born and raised in Evereska, Mourn had led a very isolated childhood. Splitting his time between training in martial combat and unwravelling the mysteries of the arcane he had little time for the outside world. Unfortunaly for Mourn the Outside world didn't feel the same about Evereska...war was brought to his homeland. Phaerimm, Shades, humans all came, soon all manner of outsiders were defiling the once purely-elven realm. Finally with the help of the Shades peculiar, yet powerful magic was the Phaerimm threat finally expelled. However this alliance did not last when a human paladin insulted and rejected the Shades during a council to deal with the Phaerimm threat was formed. The ensuing attack by the Shades on Evereska resulted in the capture of Mourn by the Shades. Spending time among their people showed Mourn the great many secrets that the Shades held. Powers that defied what he had been taught beforehand. Eventually Mourn was traded into slavery in the lands of the Zhentarim. He was no longer a prisoner of war and was now a prisoner of greedy humans. He exchanged hands many times until he got to Melavaunt in the Moonsea. In Melavaunt Mourn was bought and freed by a human Paladin named Sir Archer, a soon-to-be knight of the weave. Owing a debt of gratitued to the Paladin, Mourn agreed to travel with him until he had been with him the same number of days as he had been a slave. Along with another freed slave, a wild elf, a half-elf sorcerer and later a wood elf ranger they travelled the lands helping to bring order to the lands. The relationship between the human Paladin and Mourn waxed and waned, at times Mourn would be moved by the kindness the Paldain showed. At other times he would be disgusted by what the Paladin would sacrifice for the 'Greater good' and the less said about 'Justice' the better. During their adventures Sir Archer soon became a full Kight of the weave and Mourn found a local wizard to help guide in his study of the Art. The group made a small name for themselves locally as a group who could get things done and get them done justly, a refreshing style in such lands. One day a group of knights of the weave approached whilst Sir Archer was away, requesting help on a dangerous mission to deal with the Shadow-weave, intrigued, Mourn offered his services. Coming to an undead infested tower, the group of knights and Mourn battled to the top where they were confronted by the master of the tower..a shadow lich. Mourn felt the familiar sensation of the Shadow weave emanating from the powerful wizard. As the Knights charged and began to fall to the lich's power, Mourn saw his chance. Turning on the knghts leader he vented his frustation against their kind and helped the lich overcome his foes. Pledging his service to the Shadow lich in exchange for a chance to learn from him...mourn returned to his friends later the night with sad news. Mourn had agreed to steer the group towards uncovering potential sources of Shadow-weave magic within the region whilst eliminating the Shadow liches rivals. The group slowly gained a reputation as a band who dealt with destroying sources of evil, all the while strengthening Mourn and his master. However Mourn saw a chance to gain much more power and with the backing of a powerful group of goodly adventurers it would be possible. Convincing his Shadow lich master that his teacher in Melavaunt was a threat to discovering them, the two of them killed the wizard. All of which set Mourn's plans into motion. Leading his group on a vengeful quest for the murder of his 'master' the brave adventurers uncoverd the lair of the Lich responsible. Confronting the Shadow lich, the adventuers destroy the abomonation and free the lands of his influence forever. Mourn personally destroys the Phylacetry of the Shadow Lich....or at least appears to. With the phylacetry of the Shadow Lich under his control, all the spells and knowledge kept within the Liches tower Mourn now sets his sights on the Dark wastes of Anauroch. Advising the questing knight and his party on potential threats that the Shadow Lich's notes point to, the group begins to follow a trail of Shadows and deception leading ever closer to the Anauroch....and Mourn Nightwhispers goals. Personality Mourn Nightwhisper is deeply intolerant of Humankind and considers them nothing more than tools to acheive his aims. He sees little purpose in simply desroying ones enemies when they can be made an asset through deception, coercion or even undeath. He prefers to wear Mithral Chainmail (despite its impediment to his magic) and often wields a longsword. Able to hold his own in combat, normally aiding himself magically, Mourn enjoys tricking his enemies into thinking that he is a fighter(especially rival wizards) only to reveal too late his true power. Driven by a passion to uncover the secrets of the Shadow Weave, Morun feels it is the hope for his people if they are to reclaim their rightfully dominant place in Faerun. He particulary enjoys tricking Paladins and other servants of Law and Good into doing his work for him under the guise of a just cause. Subtle, manipulative, intelligent and patient Mourn Nightwwhisper prefers to work from behind the scenes, never showing all of his powers and always looking for a way to benefit from a given situation. |

He found his chance during the retreat where he helped a great many of his kin make the crossing to his home in Evermeet. It would also signal the beginning of his undoing and serve as the catalyst that would create the horror that walks the land now. ---> stats and finished bio to come <--- |

| #137macrosssdAug 22, 2007 15:05:12 | Mine is a litlte odd...he IS a Realms character, but from a rather interesting place...:Name: Snorri Ulfgarsson, Son of Ulfgar, Son of Geat, Son of Sven, Son of Ragnar, Son of Hrothgar, Son of Hrolf One-Handed Snorri was born and lived much of his life in Denmark, including the magnificent trading city of Hedeby. He had travelled to many lands, including the great city of the Greeks, Mickelgarth (Constantinople/Istanbul) and had seen Russia and Arabia on both trading and raiding missions, and was trusted with the title of Gothi (religious leader). His last moments on Earth was spent with his shipmates undertaking a trading expedition from Hedeby to Baghdad. While on the Black Sea, his ship came along a storm, and he was deposited with some of the wreckage of his ship in Faerun. He travels with Tolbert Greensmith, a mage/fighter; Sir William, a Paladin; and Alastair Hyde, a fighter. He used to also travel with Zane the Ill-Tempered (a necromancer) before Zane became corrupted by demonic forces and turned to the forces of evil (Snorri has called out a blood oath on Zane for his betrayal, though he has an agreement with Tolbert -- whoever reaches Zane first is the one to wreak revenge upon him!)). Currently the party is on a mission for the church of Selune that has taken them to just beneath Hellgate Keep. Snorri fights with a one-headed Danish broadax that he always keeps in good condition. He's always quick with a story about Scandinavia and is fiercely loyal to his friends. His one quirk is that he tends to call all monstrous humanoids "trolls", leading to some humorous misunderstandings... Recently, after saving a great saint of the Church of Selune, Snorri had a number of brushes with death: First being captured by a cambion called the Baron who had taken residence in a castle overlooking a ruined Selunite monastery (he was rescued through the intervention of The Norse gods who were able to send a legion of Einherjar to free him), then he and his party were nearly killed in battle with a black dragon while crossing a vast swamp on the way back to Loudwater. However, the Valkyries finally came to claim Snorri, son of Ulfgar, son of Geat, son of Sven, son of Ragnar son of Hrothgar, son of Hrolf the One-Handed some three months after rescuing Loudwater from a horrible plague by returning with Saint Miriya. The party had gone out to explore a dungeon complex that appeared on a treasure map they had found. While travelling to the site, the party was set upon by a group of giants. Snorri, to defend his comrades, engaged one of the giants in battle. After striking a mighty blow on the giant, the monster returned with a blow that killed Snorri outright. His shaken friends returned with Snorri to have him raised, however, although Snorri was willing to return and pursue his blood oath against Zane, something prevented him from leaving Valhalla*, and so he remains there, fighting during the day, feasting in the presence of Odin, Thor, Tyr and a host of legendary heroes during the nights. Meanwhile, in Loudwater, his comrades gave him the ultimate honor for a Danish warrior: They took his remains, clothed him in his best clothes and armor, placed his beloved axe by his side and placed him, as well as grave goods for his trip to Valhalla on a pyre, which they set ablaze. *(namely, I rolled a 93% on the ressurection survival check, when I needed a 92 or below) |
| #138nightside_samuraiAug 27, 2007 2:04:21 | Name: Menlin the Grey Menlin started his life as the son of a simple blacksmith in a small frontier town in Vaasa. His father, a full-blooded Orc, had settled down there after an injury had left him in the care of a Human woman. Over the time the two found their arrangement convinient and married. Menlin was their only son and was quickly immersed in the family business of producing weapons and other iron goods. Menlin's strong arms and firm resolve caught the attention of a band of mercenaries who took the boy on as a squire and taught him the basics of swordplay in exchange for his services in cleaning their armor and repairing their weapons. Menlin would have continued with them, possibly becoming a full member of the troop if not for an injury similar to his father's which rendered him unable to do very much. He spent the majority of his life convalescing or teaching youngsters the trade of smithing and he earned a fair living for quite a while that way. With the influx of goblin hunters though, someone with his knowledge of the area was essential to the effort to clear out the monsters. He was taken into tutelage late in his life but he proved and avid student and his master was able to ingrain in him the intricacies of magic so he would be able to better serve King Gareth in Vaasa. Upon the completion of his training, Menlin was given the honorary title of Captain and given a post in the Vaasa Gate, where he remains to this day cantankerously greeting young adventurers and warning them of the dangers of wandering the wilds alone. |
| #139zombiegleemaxAug 27, 2007 7:02:09 | My current PC:Name: Ali Abdul-Rahman El-Qudri Ali El-Qudri ("Ali from Qudra") was sold at an early age to the mamluks of Qudra for training, he showed promise in his fighting skills but was considered a bit too squeamish for a true mamluk. As a result his services was sold to the Beni Asad, a Zakharan family, he served for several years until the death of his master. His master, having incurred a debt to an unknown benefactor years earlier decided to donate his slave to said benefactor, and sent Ali out to find his new master and present himself. The mysterious benefactor was known only as an Ajami, and so the young warrior followed across the seas in search for his master. In Al-Ajam e encountered a minor party of adventurers whom he helped in defending a tribe of Loxo from marauding thri-kreen and gnolls. It was discovered that the entire thing had been orchestrated by a small cabal of drow, whom the adventurers foolishly followed into the Underdark. Some kind of trap was sprung in the caverns however, and the adventurers ended up separated, Ali himself stumbled through a malfunctioning portal and ended up trapped in a stasis field inside an ancient tower near Silverymoon. From there he was rescued by a party of adventurers in the employ of the government of the Silver Marches, and he currently serves said government to discharge his debt, while still maintaining a lookout for his mysterious owner. |

| #141danielmayerSep 13, 2007 10:14:37 | Now, thinking of my PC as VIP in the realms... ![]() Name: Laren Nightmaster Ahead of all: Laren was not native to Faerun. Laren was born AC 974 on Mystara in the Duchy of Karameikos. It is not known to Faerunians, what he did there, but his history on Faerun begins in DR 1307 when he appeared in the middle of a fight in Thaurogs' Keep after a gate-spell from Mystara. Quite a mage that time, he helped defeating the dragon and its minions and went out of the cave to explore the new (for him) world. Little is known from the next years, but it is confirmed that he had some major clashes with the Cult of Dragons, evil dragons and some necromancers and their undead. Widely know is the fact that he built a large tower in the Far Forest, claiming its territory as closed for “any evil”. Not known is that he searched and found all Nether Scrolls of the “Arcanus Fundare”-set. After some evil beings felt compulsory to test Larens' edict, he was forced to research a way to create a mythal to enforce it without having to fight everyday – he was able to cast High Magic by then. So he took up adventuring once more, gathered his friends and aimed for the recapture of Myth Drannor, because he learned that the last large mythal that was cast, was over MD. He suspected vital information about mythal magic in the ruins of MD. That campaign took many years, because walking into MD was not that easy. During the preparations, Laren got the Artblade, which was pleased by the intend of clearing MD of the evil and attuned itself to Laren. Just when the group had cleaned the Old Elven Court, they found MD occupied by the Crusade – a crusade they hadn't knowledge of. Laren identified himself as Spell-Major by Artblade and took up the office, rebuilt the Tower of Art and got the opportunity to enter Windsong Tower. The next two years were busy rebuilding the Ak'Vehlar and a functioning line of order in it. By the power of the office he held (and the fact he was the most powerful spellcaster in new MD), he claimed the title of the Master of Windsong Tower and gained access to the Nether Scrolls within. After those two years, in DC 1376, he felt the urgence to give his office to someone else, perhaps by the Artblade itself. So he called up a claiming ceremony, in fact the first of new MD. The Blade found a new owner and Laren retired from his office and the postion as head of Windsong Tower. By the resolution of the remaining Elders of Windsong Tower, however, he got the livelong title as Elder with all advantages and responsibilities it gave. From the Coronal Ilsevere, he was given the title of an (honorary) High Court Mage, which offered Laren the continuing unlimited access to whole MD. Laren travelled back to the Far Forest, cleaned his tower of the lich who took up residence there and began the research of a new spell. In 1379, he successfully cast Myth Magica and made the Far Forest finally his home. He is now stepping into the dragonic prestige class of the dragon ascendant. |

His early years were spent acting as a guide or runner for anybody who would spare him a few coins and using his knowledge of the area to scout for any mercenaries that would teach him a few skills or tricks, aside from a few fighting skills, Stringfellow learned the value of a quick knife and to keep his wits and eyes about him when things turned bad. As he grew into early adulthood, Stringfellow decided he had enough scratching out a meager leaving among the beggars and urchins of his home and set out to seek his fortune. Having seen more than a few foreigners come through his home brandishing fancy weapons and flashy spells as well as spilling gold like water, Stringfellow decided perhaps the life of an adventurer was for him and like so many, he traipsed down to one of the better taverns on Zazesspur and tried his luck. As fortune would have it, Stringfellow arrived in the midst of a brawl, where String noticed a group of adventurers taking on local patrons. He watched and waited to see both the general nature of these foreigners and for the local guard to show up. When the guard began to arrive, Stringfellow made himself known and offered to help the group escape with the hope that they would take him on. After a chase through the back alleys of his home and out of Zazesspur, Stringfellow made his pitch. The group of adventurers was hesitant until they were jumped by bandits’ intent of depriving them of both life and goods. In the ensuing battle one of the adventurers fell to the bandits swords. After defeating the bandits and being one member short, the adventurers, known as the company of the crashing wave, decided to take on Stringfellow to replace the slain member of their party. Stringfellow would take part in a good many adventures till the company ran afoul of a powerful lich. It was here than the company of the crashing wave came to an end. Being the least experienced and least able to take on the lich, Stringfellow was sent to go seek aid with some allies in the area. As he made his escape Stringfellow watched as his valiant friends were laid low by the lich. He didn’t know why? Perhaps the Lich didn’t realize Stringfellow was gone in its terrible rage, or perhaps he was beneath the notice of the powerful creature or even the lich let Stringfellow survive to spread the tale of the demise of the company of the crashing wave at the hands of this powerful lich. Whatever the truth, Stringfellow was able to escape. On the road alone, Stringfellow has finally made his way to the small city of Wheloon where fate has drawn him to the Wyvern Watch Inn and possibly bigger things than he can imagine. Stringfellow Dundragon stands five foot, nine inches tall and weighs a lean 130 pounds, all of it wiry muscle. His eyes are dark brown and his long hair, tied in a ponytail is pitch black. Stringfellow’s skin is a dusky brown, both from his time on the road and his calishite heritage. Stringfellow often wears his chain hauberk with the hood down. The hauberk itself is trimmed in dark green leather and Stringfellow has purposely let the mithril armor dull to hide its true nature (it is a full hauberk with full length sleeves, an attached coif with a spilt skirt that protects String fellow to his knees). A narrow brown leather belt holds his scabbard to his right side and he carries his adamantine dagger in his right boot. Under his armor, Stringfellow wears a simple linen shirt and brown soft leather pants with boots that are laced to his thighs and simple boiled leather shin guards strapped over his boots. String fellow also wears leather bracers under the arms of his Hauberk. He keeps his bow and arrows in a hard leather quiver attacked to his back by a harness. Notes: this is a new PC, I've rolled up and intend to play in the three part FR mega adventure. |

| #144merrikcaleNov 16, 2007 21:46:45 | Name: Merrik Cale Merrik Cale was born in a small farming community in Harrowdale. His mother had died in childbirth and his half-elf father was killed in a Zhent raid shortly thereafter. Raised by his elf aunt along with his half-elf cousin, Danodin Jenney, Merrik took to the woods. He studied to be a ranger under the moon elf, Coraith L'dhanna. Coraith invited the two cousins (Danodin was a bard) to join his fledgling adventuring company, the Noble Wolves. This group included the halfling rogue, Natan Longburrow, the mysterious human, Raven, and Coraith's brother, the mage, Lorelaine. After thier first successful adventure (against a small hobgoblin holding) the group added the dwarf, Harrod Hammerfist and the Chauntean priestess Stanisa. The band approached a dungeon near the fabled Myth Drannor. Shortly after entering the dungeon, the group came upon a tome of some significance. Lorelaine recognized its import. Then, for reasons unknown, Coraith was dead and his brother was gone with the book. The Wolves believed Lorelaine was a murderer and hacked their way free of the dungeon, barely escaping with their lives. The group continued to adventure after this loss in the Dales adding additional members like wizard Wyeth Bluewind and losing others like Raven and Stanisa. Adventured included a raid of a black dragon's lair, a uncovering of an assassination attempt of a prominent Dalesman and the first of a few battles with a group of evil adventures named the Fangs of the Dragon. Eventually only four remained, Merrik, who took over the leadership of the group after Coraith's death, Danodin, Wyeth and Natan. All 4 became Harpers together. The Wolves did disband after gaining much fame in the area though Merrik and his cousin still operated for the Harpers. A few years later the two were involved in a rescue mission of a young noble from drow slavers. The young noble, a young wizardess named Aleaqueena was rescued with the help of an old friend, Harrod, as well as a young rogue, Minestra. They also rescued a young paladin of Torm named Thaymin Corregard. This group became a new generation of Noble Wolves. After a few adventures including the first run-in with an order of vampire knights named the Dhorgal Nath, Danodin married Aleaqueena and retired to Silverymoon and Harrod soon joined him, but Merrik was joined by his mentor's children, Ashyr and Noraith. He was also joined by the bard, Morgan. Unknown at the time, Morgan was spy for Twilight Hall, who were concerned that "harper secrets" may be shared with non-Harpers, especially Minestra who was once a member of the Shadow Thieves and Lorelaine's neice and nephew. Noraith soon discovered the duplicity and an argument escalated into battle and the death of Morgan. The Harpers moved in and a short melee commenced in the woods of Harrowdale. It ended in the death of another harper and the destruction of the Wolves' home. Merrik (along with Danodin) went to Twilight Hall and resigned from their positions. The fact that Natan has become a High Harper is source of pain to Merrik. Still, he and his group have moved on across the Realms to Neverwinter, where Lord Nasher sees the famed company as a source of pride to the expanding city. They have added new members like the air genasi Kestrel and the dwarven warrior Gillam Stonedeep. Merrik has also recently discovered that he is the father of a young boy who like him has lost his mother. He has taken the young child, Mal, as well as his older half sister, Kerrin, into his home. | #158fippy_darkpawMay 05, 2008 6:30:58 | Here's some characters from a 2+ year campaign, that was 2nd edition. Some of the info isn't exact because it was a while ago. In retrospect, it was out of control with the levels and power. However it was super fun and by taking turns DM-ing we always came up with extremely difficult, interesting, and most of all, amusing adventures. *warning, extreme power gaming and crude humor to follow*:D - The entire party was evil. A few months into the campaign they all willingly turned themselves into Shades. Then later, all willingly became Vampires. - All were triple class demihumans and made 20+ in all classes (we house ruled out the level limits for non-humans, because, let's face it, it was a stupid rule I have never seen any other campaign follow either) - They all grew up in the Realms, but at higher levels frequently visited Greyhawk, Krynn, Sigil the City of Doors, and various Inner and Outer Planes (in addition to FR, we used some Planescape and Spelljammer material). - Since all were evil clerics, liberal use of Animate Dead was had. In every dungeon they walked around with a small army of Undead who did all the dirty work, like walking into rooms first, touching things that looked dangerous while the party waited at a safe 50' distance, etc. Additionally, animated dead make excellent mobile weapon racks. You simply jab your weapon into them and leave it there. If they run out of HPs then simply re-animate. After a long haul in a dungeon some of their zombies looked like pin-cushions jabbed full of magic swords, spears, etc... Well here are the primary characters from that Realms campaign: Name: Alacaster Oakenrod Story: during our first session, the rule was "write your character and introduce yourself". The player behind Alacaster said to the DM "you make it up, and surprise me". So ... the party happened upon Alacaster chained up, nude, lying face down in a camp of Bugbears they had just slaughtered. Apparently, he had been held for 10 years in a camp of Bugbears as a concubine. /shutter ![]() Appearance: Black skin, black eyes (he's a vampire), black Full Platemail Armor with a red lash, symbol of Loviatar emblazoned on chestplate. His primary companion is an animated dead Gully Dwarf he picked up on a jaunt to Krynn, who holds his helmet. Weapon of choice: for most of his career it was 2-Handed Sword. However, after seeing how hard max specialization dual-weilded Long Swords hit, he changed to 2 Long Swords. (this was back when 2 handed weapons didn't get any bonus) Other Notables: somehow got a psionic ability to trade 10 hps to someone else. Since this was nearly worthless at high levels, it was a bit of joke around the table. Also, he recruited a girl in Waterdeep to the priesthod of Loviatar. As he was walking by, she was stabbing a squirrel with a calligraphy plume. As far a Loviatar goes, that's pretty much a shoe-in for the priesthood! :P Name: Sedgewick Oakenrod Story: Top of his class as an elven Spellblade (Fighter/Mage/Priest). Eventually, forsook his elven roots, turned to the dark side, and became a Priest of Talos. Appearance: Black skin, black silk robes, forgoes armor for the nearly equal protection of enchanted bracers and the like. A pair of sheathed swords sheathed swords at his hips and a bent Staff of The Magi in his hand. Usually accompanied by a pet baby Red Dragon named Flippy. Weapons of choice: Dual-wield long swords. Animated servants. Staff of the Magi. Surprise. Fear. Wand of Wonde (see below). Other Notables: Has a bent Staff of the Magi and a Pet baby red dragon named Flippy. Obtained ultra-powerful, relic level Wand of Wonder created by the completely insane, and thoroughly debauched Arch-Mage Filatio. It is useable 3 times per day, and it is 50% "good", 50% "bad" from a table of over 200 player submitted effects! ![]() Example of a "Good" effect is 'teleport target to the heart of the nearest active volcano'. "Bad" effects include the chance that 'a troupe of Ogres in heat attempt to perform coitus with the wand weilder'. And yes, that can definitely ruin your day. ![]() Name: Merrick TwoBlades Story: Extremely large for a half-elf, he became a Gladiator in Amn. Eventually he grew bored, took to the Clericy of Cyric (more for the power, than for any appreciation of a God, something Cyric would respect). Appearance: 6'5" Half Elf. Black skin, enchanted brass chainmail loincloth, spiked boots. Usually accompanied by a "sword sheath", an animated dead Kobold named Willy. Weapons of choice: Dual-wield long swords. Abi-Dalzim Horrid Wilting. Other Notables: Casted Abi-Dalzims Horrid Wilting in an Inn. Once said to a Great Wyrm Red dragon " you can have first hit". Almost died to 100 kobold that were lvl 1 wizards and only knew 1 spell: magic missile. Finally, after defeating a Greater Demon Lord, Merrick inquired to the DM "how long is his phallus"? Not sure where he was going with this, the DM replied, "hmm let's see, the Demon was about 16 feet tall, so I would estimate 24 inches". Merrick immediately declared "I chop off the Demon's phallus, chop of my own phallus, and then graft the Demon Phallus on with a Heal spell". Talk about needing house rules!!! :D So, long story short, the DM allowed it, but later we found that the Demon Phallus was pseudo-sentient and could often cause trouble, and even became a plot hook for a later campaign! :P |

He really only kills Mountain Orcs, so in order to reach 60, you gotta travel east and kill some Gray Orcs, and go underground and kill Orog as well. Well, a bit more than 'some', anyway... |

Not to mention different kinds of messanger services. Did I ever tell you about the time... Hmmm....what? Oh right. Topic at hand. Learned psionics after several thousand years or so learning spell "mastery". Younguns these days! I wanna learn to "master" the Art. Take over some land or world. Conquer the universe...pffft. You need to love the Art and respect the responsibility of not causing massive amounts of devistation! Whats that young one? Undead!? No I am not a lich! What?! Elder brain? Who started these rumors? It was me actually. Trying to lose those who seek me out. I find you....you do not find me. Well that was the theory. I did start learning about psionics or mind magic long ago and it has given me a great amount of joy experimenting with my own mind. One could say it has been a mind altering experience! Right! Now back to learning to love the Art! Zethruln! Theories of extraplanar time deviations and....... |

| #171taziraiJun 11, 2008 0:13:31 | Name: Sybil Brightmoon (Mistress of Tongues), (She of Savras) Level: Diviner 5/Divine Oracle 3/Unseen Seer 6 Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Deity: Savras Gender/Race: Female,Human Halruaan DoB/Age: Born During "The Vision/Moonfest" 1342, Year of the Behir. Age 33 Region: Halruaa. Anauroch, Cormyr, Nimbral, Tashalar Personality: A bookworm by nature, Sybil would rather read and learn languages than get down and dirty. She isn't a fighter in the normal sense, But she can be tenacious when it comes to spreading knowledge and education. She WILL go all out to battle those who would hide the truth, and spread ignorance. To her orderly world, ignorance is the root of chaos. Perhaps if people knew and understood there'd be less violence. She can be haughty when dealing with those unwilling to listen to reason. She is also politely honest, although many don't appreciate her honesty at times. She is also pacifistic. She will never harm another living, thinking being. If they are dead, they can't learn, and society doesn't grow and evolve. Appearance: Sybil is a mature woman of 33 winters. Her brown skin is mostly smooth and unblemished from a lack of harsh living. She has a healthy weight to her. With womanly hips and legs. Her body is also completely hairless. This results from being born of Savras. Those born during the Vision, in her family lack body hair, Have deep gray eyes, and a third eye birthmark upon their brows. The eye is also gray. She favors form fitting pale yellow Bodysuits and large billowing cloaks. She has above average beauty. Motivations: Like all Brightmoons, Sybil is focused on returning Savras to respect in Halruaa. With the rise of Diviners in power and a family with direct lineage to a god, they have alot of say in the council. As such Savran Shrines have begun to appear in many areas of Halruaa. Overseen by Brightmoon Sybilytes and Diviners. Her other goal is to promote learning and education in the farthest reaches of the Shining south. Hence her adventuring. By doing so she can bring learning to all she encounters. History: Sybil was born during the Savran holy day known as The Vision. This day is marked by meditation and focusing on Savras to bring about visions of their futures. The Brightmoons can claim lineage to their risen ancestor. They are direct descendants of the Halruaan mage that would become Savras. During great times of upheaval, whether good or ill. A child is born once per generation on that day, with the mark of Savras. During the birth Savras sends a Spectator to watch over the child and provide tutelage and guardianship as they grow. Sybil chose to pursue a life in tradition as a Diviner, but her foremost goal was to acquire knowledge. Attending both the College of Divination in Tashalar and the mighty wizardry schools in Halruaa, she surpassed many other students easily. During this time she fell in love with languages. By age 27, she was fluent in near a dozen tongues including Draconic and Beholder. Her mastery of language led many to dub her the mistress of Tongues. This made her a star in the eyes of Halruaa, where many only used spells to speak with others, she actually learned their tongues. This led her to History and many adventurers to consult her knowledge of the past without need of Magic. During her time at college her research into ancient history led her to learn many ancient forms of Magic. Such as Arcane Manipulation, Methodical Magic Methods, Netherese Arcane techniques, and Spontaneous Divinations, among others. She doesn't join adventuring bands with the sole purpose of fighting great evil. Her goal with them is to gain and spread knowledge; and to stop those who hinder it. All else are bonuses which allow great rewards at times. She is currently in the Anaurochs with a group of Harpers investigating a Netherese ruin. |

During this encounter she met an ancient malaugrym who nurtured her greed further, so Ilianari always strove to get her hands on peices of more expensive arts or jewelry. Using her several guises as travelling merchants she scours the lands for her decaying mentor always seeming to get her malleable hands on his chosen trinkets. Ilianari seems not to care what her mentor is doing with the wealth as long as she gets to eat a living liver out of one of the guards during her missions. When on a mission she dresses as a typical stealthy human ninja. When hit by silver she usualy takes on a female shaped form of a black ooze thats capapble of mindboggling dodges and wields her shortsword and her longer reaching tentacles at the same time. |

| #202peteyrockJul 18, 2008 12:22:34 | My intent with this thread is for people to share the characters they've created in the Forgotten Realms. We've heard plenty of NPC's and deities, but I want to hear what you've got. It can even be someone put in a book you're writing. Character stats aren't needed, but are welcome. I really don't care what edition you write it out in either. Hell, I may even dig up someone from my old 2nd Ed. campaign. I have a couple of reasons for making this thread. First, I think this sort of thing is exactly the kind of fun that gaming communities should be having. We all like telling each other about our characters - it's a fact, not opinion. Second, I would find it to be particularly good feedback if I were a writer or developer. The developments of your fan base should be a clue as to what they really like and what they really look forward to. Feel free to post backgrounds, pictures (within the boards' laws, of course), and/or stat blocks. So, have at it! (If anyone has a good template for posting 4th Ed. characters stats, I'm all ears - er...eyes.) |

| #209naexJul 19, 2008 8:15:21 | Ok, I'll play... After all what good D&D player doesn't want to talk about his character. Naex Kurgeth Psion (Telepath) 10/ Psion Uncarnate 10/ Wizard 3/ Cerebromancer 4 (not converted to 4e yet) Elan male Born near Corrant in Jhaamdath in the year 5181 (-619 DR the Year of Bright Water). His father was a Psychic warrior (a member of the Order of Slayers), and his mother a member of house Erechestria. As one of the rare Elan who were born as Elan, he was admitted to the Udoclian at the age of 14. He was an eager student and gifted, and soon graduated. Along the way he developed a fascination with magic, and studied it a little, never becoming more than a dabbler. After leaving the Udoclian, he traveled a lot in what is now the heartlands, exploring the fringes of the elven woods, and even traveling as far as Netheril. Returning home after his years of travel, he took a position as a master of the Udoclian, where he spent the majority of his time, with brief sabbaticals to excise his wanderlust. Eventually he rose to the position of First Master (the head of the academy). It was here that he first made the acquaintance of Dharien, a talented young noble scion. He trained the young man, but was betrayed and imprisoned by the boy, in a slow-time pocket dimension, when he refused to be a part of the coup that destroyed the psiocracy. The forces holding him in the pocket dimension weakened during the time of troubles, allowing him to finally escape. He has been wandering the realms ever since, trying to recover Jhaamdathan artifacts. Recently he has started a new Udoclian in Silverymoon, and is contemplating one in Cormyr. He has some ties to other psionic organizations in the realms, and is rumored to be affiliated with the Unseen in Waterdeep. Statted |

| #213DiffanJul 21, 2008 7:04:20 | -Having flipped through the 4e PHB, a lot of that makes sense! ;) See, there ya go! ![]() I had A LOT written about his back story and why he's now on the surface but Gleemax (for some darned reason ) didn't post it with his stats and I wasn't about to re-type something I ad-libbed. So basically he was sent on his first scouting mission with plans from his Matron mother to assassinate 2 drow in his party from a rival house (thus strengthening his own) to gain favor for Lloth. He botched it and then returned to Menzoberranzan to see the destruction of his own house. Instead of joining with Bregan De'arthe he went to the world above. He's seen how the surface elves act and has decided that they're not the evil, diabolical monsters he was led to believe (but still can't trust them) so he wanders the lands of Cormyr, stealing what he can (replacing his longswords with elven-craft weapons), and hunting the land for food. Recently, he's attempted to interact with townsfolk but has been met with hostility (in once case he was forced to slay 9 villagers before he fled) and is wary of civilization. For people who might want to use him in the town of Fallcrest, he's currently staying at the Nentir Inn to try an become accepted by the people. So far, people have avoided him save the tiefling Serim Selduzar who wishes to make him a friend and associate though Solaufein is still unsure of his intentions. |

| #223king_neckchopperAug 13, 2009 20:28:41 | Name: Vayne Prowchaw of Sharess Vayne was born an orphan to a pleasuer queen from the church of Sharess. He was raised in a orphanage and always wanted to be an adventurer. His friend Louss also wanted to adventure and together they trained. Growing up poor in Calimport made these boys hungry for power and money. They had natural talent and Vayne was trained in the ancient fighting style that combined magic and melee skills. When he returned to the orphanage Louss had met someone who would lead them on a adventure. That quest led them to the city of splendors, Waterdeep. Vayne met a young wizard there named Chi'ri Ashtangi (The grandson of Shanti Ashtangi) and they traveled and adventured together, along with Louss. Vayne got separated from his companions for a long time, and returned to calimport and battled in the gladiator arena for many years, honing his skills. He also assisted Krazy Richie the Merchant by traveling the planes to retrieve components for his magical creations. One day he returned to Krazy Richies to see him being attacked by a demon. These succubi assaulted Richie and left him dead. Vayne was able to slay one of them, but the rest feld, teleporting away. Richies assistant, Alejandro gave Vayne a clue to why he was killed. Richie was dealing with dark entities and he owed them quite a few gold peices, but the reason was someone had reniged on a deal, and it cost Richie his life. Vayne decided to find this person and make them pay. He ended up traveling to the Cormyr region in search of a Vampire who had stolen from Richie. Traveling with a caravan, one morning Vayne woke up and the whole caravan was dead. There was a note written in blood on a little girls chest that said "Your life could have been over, yet we spared ye. Ye should be thankful and return home." Vayne just continued to travel and came upon a keep. He was greeted by soldiers who stated "This is the Realm of the Baron Louss. State you name and you purpose in these parts". Vayne told them that he wished to see the Baron himself, and that they were good friends. Apparently the Baron Louss was expected him, because his men took Vayne to him without question. To be continued. This character is retired but his story is not over, I will updated it soon. |
