| #1arcas_shanJun 07, 2009 9:07:55 | This thread is now officially opened for characters from Baldur's Gate I and Neverwinter Nights I + II. Hello, I'm thinking of converting the epic versions of the NPCs from Baldur's Gate II and Throne of Bhaal that could still be around to 4E (I hope there wasn't already a thread like this but I couldn't find one) especially since most of the epic destinies have some kind of immortality. However I'm unclear on how to convert the classes of some of them. Aerie: Elf, cleric, paragon-mulitclassing in wizard. Anomen: Human, cleric, multiclassing in paladin Cernd: Human, druid (Bloodmoon Stalker?) Edwin: Human, wizard Haer'Dalis: Tiefling, bard, paragon-multiclassing into ranger? The other way around? Imoen: Human, rogue paragon-multilcassing into wizard? Or the other way around? Sure, she started out as a rogue, but in the end she was more wizard than anything else. Jaheira: Half-elf. druid/fighter hybrid Jan: Gnome, wizard/rogue? Keldorn: Human, paladin, Champion of Order. Korgan: Dwarf, fighter Mazzy: Halfling, fighter (maybe multiclassed into paladin? Was it ever explained why suddenly non-humans could become paladines since 3rd edition?) Minsc: Human, ranger? Somehow he strikes me more as a battlerager fighter or a barbarian that multiclassed into ranger, if at all. Nalia: Human, wizard, with Thievery through a multiclass rogue feat. Sarevok: Human, fighter or cliché "evil warlord"? His Int would be high enough for an inspiring warlord. Valygar: Human, ranger Viconia: Drow, cleric of Shar Yoshimo: Human, rogue (if we see the Katana as a rapier instead of a bastard sword). Or something else with thievery and stealth? |
| #2niirfaJun 07, 2009 12:44:10 | I haven't done the whole bunch but I've done a few from BG1 with the Character Builder: Abdel (PC): Tiefling fighter (I wrote up the Bhaalspawn stuff as a specialized form of tiefling or other planetouched) Ajantis Ilvastarr: Human paladin of Helm (Helm houseruled) Branwen: Human cleric of Tempus Coran: Elf rogue-fighter hybrid (mostly because 2e multiclassing is more like 4e hybrids than 4e multiclassing) Dynaheir: Human cleric/wizard hybrid (given 3e's rule about the hathrans using both divine and arcane magic - possibly will make her a druid instead since divine and primal are now different) Edwin Odeisseron: Human wizard Eldoth: Human bard multiclassed as rogue (mostly because 2e bards are a bit like 3e and 4e rogues as well as for his backstory) Faldorn: Human druid Garrick: Human bard Imoen: Tiefling (see Abdel) rogue multiclassed as wizard - toying with the idea of making here a rogue/wizard hybrid instead Jaheira: Half-elven druid-fighter hybrid Khalid: Half-elven fighter Kivan: Elven ranger Minsc: Human ranger multiclassed as barbarian (the class didn't exist in 2e but Minsc wouldn't been one if the games had been 3e instead) Montaron: Halfling rogue Quayle: Gnomish invoker/wizard hybrid (not only are wizards and invokers similar, but his backstory suggests "natural" talent over clerical training) Safana: Human rogue Shar-Teel: Human fighter Viconia: Drow cleric Xan: Eladrin wizard Xzar: Human wizard Yeslick: Dwarven paladin of Moradin (cleric/fighters are basically now paladins) |
| #3arcas_shanJun 07, 2009 13:33:46 | Thanks. I absolutely didn't think of hybrid multiclassing, it's a great idea! I only disagree with two things. 1) The race of the main character and Imoen. There was a Bhaalspawn template in 3E that could be added to a dragon, fey, giant, humanoid, monstrous humanoid, outsider or shapechanger http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/rules/DnD3.0Index-Templates.pdf p. 11 Maybe there should be some kind of graft in 4E 2) Minsc's class. Even though he was a ranger he used normally a greatsword. The new rangers have to specialise either with two melee weapons or bows (or animal companion, but Boo doesn't qualify for that). I think that in 4E he would be a barbarian or fighter with Berserker's Fury. Of course that depends on the point of view.:D |
| #4sfdragonJun 07, 2009 21:50:56 | As for Cernd. do him as Cernd male longtooth shifter : druid/ shifter racial PP as for kivan and Coran, before they get labeled off as elve, you might want to identify which elf branch they were in the first place. and if one wanted to leave Yeslick asa Cleric then cleric/warpriest.. |
| #5niirfaJun 08, 2009 2:53:29 | Thanks. I absolutely didn't think of hybrid multiclassing, it's a great idea! It was my call and I don't expect everyone to agree with it. I'll admit it's a bit iffy and the main reason I went with it was A) I didn't want to make either character a cambion or close equivalent and B) Races of Faerun and the FRPG both seem to indicate some tieflings are the children of gods (Scion of the Gods feat sticks out to me from the latter). But again, it's a matter of opinion and I know that in 3e they weren't considered tieflings. 2) Minsc's class. Even though he was a ranger he used normally a greatsword. The new rangers have to specialise either with two melee weapons or bows (or animal companion, but Boo doesn't qualify for that). I think that in 4E he would be a barbarian or fighter with Berserker's Fury. Of course that depends on the point of view.:D I almost agree with you here. But not quite, since he is, officially, a ranger. Perhaps a barbarian with ranger multiclassing instead of the other way around? |
| #6the_shamanJun 08, 2009 4:49:33 | Yeah, barbarian with ranger MC could work quite well for him. However, 2E - which is what BG 1 at least was done with - just didn't have a barbarian class. Besides, his personality was imo more suited to barbarian exploits than ranger ones - he didn't even meet the class ability prerequisites. In 4E it is quite hard to make a ranger that is not fighting in one of the 3 styles they get - dual-wielding, archery or animal companion. Btw Haer-dalis could work as a fighter/bard hybrid - I'm not very clear on fighter hybrids, but Martial Power had a 2-weapon fighter that could work quite well for his martial side. Maybe Viconia could work better as an avenger or invoker than cleric? For some reason I think she works much better as a assassin-ish character or a divine blaster. As for the elves, I think Kivan was pretty much set as a wood elf, which would be elf in 4E. Coran I'm not sure on - I didn't take him in the game, probably eladrin but I'm not sure. I do not remember what the Avariel were in 4E, but as a wingless one Aerie is imo more likely to be an eladrin than an elf. |
| #7BluenoseJun 08, 2009 7:22:14 | I was thinking about this last year when 4e first came out, but it wasn't entirely practical then. Now I think it may be. Personally I would be more inclined to go for a "feel" than worry about keeping the class name, and not particularly willing to use hybrid classes unless I can't find another way to do things. With than in mind, for BG2 I'd have: Aerie, Eladrin Invoker, with a couple of Cleric multi-class feats. You get Channel Divinity, area attacks, a little bit of healing, some useful rituals. Anomen, Human Cleric (Warpriest paragon path). One of the simplest, imo. Cernd, Shifter Druid. He would work better if there were shapeshifter feats similar to the Spellscarred or Vampiric ones. Edwin, Human Wizard, Staff of Defence. With Arcane Power he gets a fair number of summoning spells. Haer'Dalis, Tiefling Bravura Warlord. Maybe with a little Warlock m/c love added. No bard. Imoen, Human Rogue, Paragon m/c Wizard with Wand of Accuracy. The only way I can really match what she does in the games, though I thought about a straight Wizard with m/c Rogue. Jaheira, Haf-elf Warden. Her half-elf dilletante power should be from Druid, and perhaps some more m/c powers too but they aren't entirely necessary. Jan, Gnome Artificer. Looks tailor-made for him, but until the EPG comes out I won't be sure. Keldorn, human Paladin. Maybe m/c with Warlord. Knight Captain paragon path looks suitable. Korgan, Dwarf battlerager Fighter. 'nuff said. Mazzy, Hafling Ranger? or perhaps Warlord? I like the second idea better, but while there are thrown weapon Warlords I can't really come up with an archery one. Minsc, Human Barbarian. Pick up relevant skills for Stealth and Survival, and a hamster for the Ranger aspect. Nalia, Human Wizard (Wand of Accuracy), trained in Stealth, Jack-of-all-Trades feat. Not a full blown rogue, just a wizard with some training and aptitude. Sarevok, Human Fighter. Maybe a Tactical Warlord instead, but while he's smart he doesn't do much that seems tactical. Valygar, Human Ranger, two-weapon build. Not hard to do. Viconia, Drow devoted Cleric. Though I could see some sort of Invoker work. Yoshimo, Human Avenger. While he's not religious, it seems like a better fit than Rogue, although you need Stealth and Thievery as skills. |
| #8arcas_shanJun 08, 2009 15:44:42 | As for Cernd. Now I got that suggestion two times, and I would like to know why. I had him only a very short time in the party, was there something about him being a descendant of lycanthropes? Or is it just because he had the shifter kit? ![]() It was my call and I don't expect everyone to agree with it. Okay, I just wondered, because most of the bosses of ToB would be hard to make as tieflings.;) I almost agree with you here. But not quite, since he is, officially, a ranger. Perhaps a barbarian with ranger multiclassing instead of the other way around? I think rageblood barbarian (secondary role defender of his witch) with Warrior of the Wild for training in Stealth would be perfect. ![]() Btw Haer-dalis could work as a fighter/bard hybrid - I'm not very clear on fighter hybrids, but Martial Power had a 2-weapon fighter that could work quite well for his martial side. Maybe Viconia could work better as an avenger or invoker than cleric? For some reason I think she works much better as a assassin-ish character or a divine blaster. I like the idea for Haer-dalis, I just looked it up, and the tempest gets boni for fighting with off-hand weapons like shortswords.:D Hybrid characters can get it with a feat. Viconia was most of the time on healing duty in my group because she was the only single-class divine spellcaster I had. I could maybe think of her as an invoker but an avenger? That's primary a melee class that normally doesn't use shields. I do not remember what the Avariel were in 4E, but as a wingless one Aerie is imo more likely to be an eladrin than an elf. Hm, I just looked around and found the following stats for Avariel in another thread. Dex +4, Con -2, Int +2, Wis +2. So a grounded avariel could be either as long as they don't get a proper race. I would tend towards elf because of the speed (light bones) and the wisdom modifier because for me she always was first cleric and then wizard. But this is really a matter of taste.;) I was thinking about this last year when 4e first came out, but it wasn't entirely practical then. Now I think it may be. Personally I would be more inclined to go for a "feel" than worry about keeping the class name, and not particularly willing to use hybrid classes unless I can't find another way to do things. I'm for the feel too, but I have nothing against hybrid multiclassing if it helps to realise the concept of the character. ![]() I like most of your suggestions, however I don’t understand some. 1. Aerie an invoker? She always struck me more as the healing caring type who could blast too with wizard powers. 2. Haer’Dalis. While warlord has the same role as bard with other key attributes, I don’t think it would reflect him well. And I think even though they didn’t play a role in BGII he should have access to bard rituals. 3. While the warden seems to be a good blend of fighter and druid I don’t like the shapeshifting aspect. On the other hand the fighter/druid hybrid too has it problems because you get only the wild shape for free... I have to think about it.:D 4. Mazzy could be good as a hybrid character, maybe a fighter/ranger? Fighter for powers for the sword of Arvoreen and ranger for powers for the bow. 5. Yoshimo as an avenger would certainly solve the problem with his katana. But he wasn’t religious and had no divine powers. Maybe a fighter or ranger (if we go katana/wakizashi-style) with a rogue multiclass feat? |
| #9sfdragonJun 09, 2009 3:36:18 | Now I got that suggestion two times, and I would like to know why. I had him only a very short time in the party, was there something about him being a descendant of lycanthropes? Or is it just because he had the shifter kit? well back when that kit existed the species did not, so its a bit of both the lycanthrope blood he injected himself with and the shifter kit. and there is no PP that allows a character to turninto a werewolf, and the shifter race comes closest to the spirit of the character |
| #10BluenoseJun 09, 2009 5:15:32 | I'm for the feel too, but I have nothing against hybrid multiclassing if it helps to realise the concept of the character. 1. Aerie as Invoker. Take a look at the Preserving Invoker. There's a lot of powers that give defensive bonuses to other party members as a bonus, there are area attacks, there are utilities that affect healing surges - all round, I think it gives the right feel from 1st level for what Aerie does. Multiclass with Cleric if you want a little more healing, or with wizard for a different selection of spells, but honestly neither feels quite necessary with the class in question. 2. Haer'Dalis as bravura Warlord. I honestly think that's what Haer'Dalis would have be if BG2 came out now. A melee combatant perfectly happy to take chances to give other people opportunities, with high Charisma. He can work in other ways inlcuding Bard, but that's how I'd make him. 3. Jaheira as Warden. The class works as a warrior version of the druid, which is how I usually Jaheira when she's in my party. Half-elf dilettante lets her pick up a druid power, and she can pick up more by multiclassing if necessary, though the Warden has a number of close blasts and bursts that are similar to druid powers. 4. Mazzy as Ranger. It's not entirely satisfactory, mainly because it doesn't give the religious feel I think Mazzy should have. The problem is there isn't really another class that helps with ranged weapons. This is one case where I'd consider breaking my self imposed rule against hybrid classes, making her into a Ranger/Warlord. If I felt I could get away with switching her to javelins/thrown weapons I'd go pure warlord. Useful in melee and at range, some healing, a party leader - it screams out for Mazzy to be a Warlord, but I really want her to be a good archer too. More thought required. 5. Yoshimo as an Avenger. The divine features are the thing which make this a bad fit. On the other hand, I'm not happy with Rogue either, for the reasons you identify to do with his use of the Katana. Playing around last night with the character builder I made unsatisfactory versions of him as Rogue, Fighter, Avenger, and Monk. I'm wondering if the DDI Assassin will be a closer match, or if a Psionic class will do. I really don't quite know what to do with him, any more than I do with Mazzy. |
| #11ZireaelJun 09, 2009 9:07:37 | Coran was a wood elf, just like Kivan. Xan was a moon elf, which translates as Eladrin. |
| #12arcas_shanJun 11, 2009 13:43:52 | 1. Aerie as Invoker. Take a look at the Preserving Invoker. Multiclass with Cleric if you want a little more healing, or with wizard for a different selection of spells, but honestly neither feels quite necessary with the class in question. I will certainly look into it, maybe I'm just too stuck in my view of old multiclass characters.:D 2. Well, I've looked at his old stats and kit again, and I think I'll go with tempest fighter with the Bardic Ritualist-Feat and the Doomguard Marauder paragon path, plus a few skill trainings in charisma skills. Hmmmm, I think I'm going to wait for Divine Power before I decide that... If there's a good nature domain she could maybe be a cleric/warpriest of Sylvanus. 4. Mazzy as Ranger. It's not entirely satisfactory, mainly because it doesn't give the religious feel I think Mazzy should have. The problem is there isn't really another class that helps with ranged weapons. Useful in melee and at range, some healing, a party leader - it screams out for Mazzy to be a Warlord, but I really want her to be a good archer too. More thought required. Okay, you've convinced me about the warlord part, and I think that hybrid is the best way to go. I don't think we'll get any new Warlord stuff anytime soon.5. Yep, Yoshi seems almost impossible to make. The problem with him is that the weapons list of the rogue isn't only short, it's directly tied to his powers. A rogue can be proficient with any type of weapon, but he can't even use it with his at-wills. And unfortunately there's only an exception for eladrin. But he was definitely a martial character, his abilities had nothing magical about them.... We can only hope that a new class will cover him, otherwise we're either stuck with a fighter who paragon multiclasses into rogue, or a rogue that uses a rapier instead of a katana. ![]() |

I really like her except for a few minor things (I'd use the original ability scores from BG II and still make her an elf), there's only one thing I don't understand. Where do you get healing as a trained skill? It's not on the class list of the invoker, and Initiate of the Faith only gives you religion a second time. |

I made her with the Character Builder without checking the books, so I hadn't noticed that Heal wasn't on the Invoker's class list. Going through the Compendium it puzzled me, until I checked Eladrin and saw they have a free skill. ![]() I could have a go at an Elf version. It wouldn't be quite the same, since I'd have to pick up Heal through Skill Training, but the racial bonus to Wisdom would make a more powerful character. As for why I didn't use the original scores, my BG2 installation is running a mod at the moment and the original characters aren't there. And I was too lazy to check the web for them. |

| #19arcas_shanJun 23, 2009 15:29:37 | Thanks!![]() Today I tried to make Anomen as a Cleric/Warpriest. Unfortunately I ran into a few problems: 1. Most "blunt" weapons of AD&D aren't simple in 4E, he couldn't use the cool weapons that were perfect for him in BG2 without weapon proficiencies and retraining. 2. Clerics can't use shields (two proficiencies to learn to use heavy shields). 3. I couldn't find the shields in the Character Builder. I guess I'll try again when the Hybrid rules in the CB are upgraded, with his low Wisdom Fighter/Cleric should be better for him. However, I have Minsc as a glorious spirit for 4E who can teach his wisdom to the next generation of heroes.:D "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, watch it! I'm huge!" "Magic is impressive, but now Minsc leads! Swords for everyone!" "Minsc will lead with blade and boot! Boo will take care of the details." "Jump on my sword while you can evil, I WON'T be as gentle!" | #20BluenoseJun 27, 2009 12:17:29 | Minsc is Magnificent! With Anomen I wasn't so bothered by the weapon choice, a mace is a perfectly solid option, as by the limited armour proficiency and shield use. If you want him in full plate and using the Delryn Family Shield he has to spend four feats to get it. I'd be a lot happier if you could get any proficiency you qualified for without taking the previous one, so there's only two feats needed. Here's three of my efforts. My latest attempt at Yoshimo doesn’t seem too bad to me. I'm also not convinced that a Fighter/Druid hybrid is desirable for the same reason. |
| #23sfdragonJun 29, 2009 13:56:21 | love the druid jaheira builds. Cernd could work as a longtooth shifter warden..... |
| #24arcas_shanJun 29, 2009 16:05:50 | Minsc is Magnificent! Thanks. My problem with Anomen is, that if I took him along he ended up carrying Flail of the Ages and Crom Faeyr and a shield. I think I will realise him as a fighter/cleric hybrid. If there were weapon group proficiencies and armor proficiencies like in Star Wars Saga Edition there wouldn't be a problem. ![]() I really like the other builds. I thought about Yoshimo as a ranger, but never with archery. I only thought of katana in one hand and ninja-to in the other and that would've been too samurai-like. But archery is a great idea! I made a warden-version of Jaheira once, but I wasn't happy with it (aside from the healing issue I don't like that druid powers you get through being half-elf need an implement). I think she could be a cleric with the nature domain (if there is one in Divine Power), or maybe an avenger/druid hybrid with a quarterstaff... |
| #25BluenoseJun 30, 2009 12:53:49 | So do any of these work for Cernd? I've used Longtooth Shifter as the race, and three of the four primal classes for his class. | #35BluenoseJul 07, 2009 12:10:54 | Two more of mine, a rather aristocratic pair. Keldorn. More about charisma than strength in this case. The annoying thing about his implementation in 4e is that his preferred 2-handed sword and/or long sword are Str/Dex Heavy Blade, and he really doesn't have good dexterity. He'd do a lot better with an axe or a warhammer. And the particular version I'm posting doesn't have Melee Training (Charisma), which would be useful for opportunity attacks. | #37BluenoseJul 08, 2009 13:17:02 | I'm wondering, would the virtuos paladin have done better for Lord Firecam? That looks like rather a good match, actually. I'll probably revisit him after I've seen Divine Power and make a few changes. as for Jan , what he anyway, bard?? well give him the gnome PP...... Jan isn't a bard, not in my interpretation. But he is pretty good with mechanical toys and thievery, he's got some interesting magical effects, and he can do some really strange things with a crossbow. I haen't yet put up any characters with Paragon Paths, but Fey Beguiler looks pretty likely. | #39BluenoseJul 10, 2009 15:49:48 | Anomen looks just a little odd with his mix of weapon feats. Is their a reason he has two different Weapon Expertise feats, and Weapon Focus with another weapon? Personally I think I'd go for Warhammer as his main weapon, pick up Expertise and Focus, and let him get Plate proficiency earlier. His stats are really suitable for a Hammer-warrior with high strength and constitution, so he could pick up Hammer Rhythm in the Paragon tier and comes close to Bludgeon Mastery at epic. Here's my take on Valygar. He's quick, strong, reasonably tough and fights well with two longswords. If the Katana should be something else (and I gave Yoshimo a scimitar) it doesn't make a huge difference to his feats unless you want it equivalent to a bastard sword, in which case I'd suggest dropping Blade Opportunist to gian the proficiency. Is their a reason he has two different Weapon Expertise feats, and Weapon Focus with another weapon? The reason for the two Weapon Expertise feats is that he carried when I took him along both Flail of the Ages and Crom Faeyr and used whatever was more appropriate for the enemies. The Weapon Focus is wrong, heavy blade is directly under hammer.:D Personally I think I'd go for Warhammer as his main weapon, pick up Expertise and Focus, and let him get Plate proficiency earlier. | #41BluenoseJul 18, 2009 13:01:38 | I'd rather say that Aerie was a Flame of Hope. Angelic Aspect would have made an action point-junky out of her, the punisher theme of Blightspeaker doesn't fit and I can't picture her as a Hammer either.:D I’ve been considering some of the characters and checking through threads about Divine Power to glean information on what might be suitable for some of the characters. This isn’t a complete or final list, but here are some suggestions for the Paragon Paths and Epic Destinies for the characters as I see them at the moment. Aerie – as an Elf Invoker. No one seems to be talking about Invoker PPs, but Flame of Hope would probably be my choice anyway. For an Epic Destiny, Avatar of Hope and Avatar of Life sound possible, but I’d probably pick Revered One if doing it now. I would pick up the new Divine Healer MC feat for the Heal skill and the cleric’s Healer’s Lore ability. Anomen – human cleric. The Battle Chaplain PP gives shield proficiency (with all shields), allows you to mark adjacent enemies who an ally hits, and gives bonuses to damage rolls for allies in some circumstances. It’s very strong competition for Warpriest. For an Epic Destiny I could see Chosen as it is, or one of the Avatar of… series – War seems likeliest for a LG Anomen, perhaps Freedom for the CN version. Cernd – shifter druid. If druid is the way to go I suggest Blood Moon Stalker for a PP. It seems to work both for flavour and effectiveness if you see Cernd as a wild shape druid/warrior, with the various abilities that make your combat effectiveness while wild shaped better. A “calmer” version of Cernd might be better done with Guardian of the Living Gate, which could work as a Druid investigating general problems rather than specifically aberrations. Moonstalker is the shifter racial PP, and that also could work. The Primal Avatar ED looks the best for a druid, compared to most others. Edwin – human wizard. Bonded Summoner looks pretty obvious, boosting his summoned creatures. Archmage looks similarly sensible. Haer’Dalis – Tiefling Bard. If you have him as a Bard, one of the more interesting PPs involves multiclassing into Ranger and picking up the Blade Dancer PP. It’s a really nice alternative to Stormwarden, slightly more defensive but with lots of utility for someone using two light blades. Your tempest fighter version does open up the Doomguard PP, which is fighter only. If you prefer my Bravura Warlord suggestion, then Blade Dancer still looks like a nice option, but Flamebrow Commander adds a touch of crazy aggression while not giving more healing. Deadly Trickster or Punisher of the Gods would be likely choices for an ED, with the former being more in his style. Harbinger of Doom would also look appropriate, considering his background. Imoen – human, Rogue/Wizard multiclass. Archmage, Deadly Trickster and Demigod all have their good features. None of the destinies from Arcane Power seem right, and by this stage she’s more a wizard than a rogue so I don’t think those are appropriate. Though Keybearer (Dragon #372) is about exploration, travel, and ability to bypass obstacles which would seem possible. Jaheira – half-elf, Druid or Warden or perhaps Cleric. As a half elf, Jaheira has access to PPs that humans and elves can pick, and Twilight Guardian looks like a very good option. “Feel nature’s wrath!” sounds very Jaheira-like. I’m inclined to wait till I’ve seen Divine Power, but Avatar of Life sounds possible for an Epic Destiny, as does Chosen, and Harper of Legend is another possibility. Jan Jansen – gnome artificer. Fey Beguiler looks like an excellent choice associated with Wizards and Rogues. Battle Engineer would be an alternative usable by Artificers, but while I used the class it’s not entirely appropriate. I’d almost be inclined to choose Archspell as his epic destiny, if I thought there was a really appropriate choice for the spell. My primary alternative would be Eternal Seeker, since he doesn’t seem to really know what he’s trying to do except that it involves trained monkeys. Keldorn – human paladin. I had Justiciar in mind when I was thinking about him, but there are several PPs in Divine Power that might work better. I’m rather interested in Questing Knight and Faithful Shield, but others might work too. Also, Knight of Celestia does have some possibilities. I’d pick Chosen for an Epic Destiny, with Keldorn as Torm’s greatest champion on Faerun. Korgan – dwarf fighter. Several possible paragon paths, all with their benefits. I’d suggest Iron Vanguard PP and Undying Warrior ED reflecting Korgan’s toughness, but Ravager and Punisher of the Gods might be quite suitable for a more destructive alternative. Mazzy - halfling Ranger/Warlord. While there’s a PP specifically for Ranger/Warlords, it relies on heavy thrown weapons and doesn’t seem right to me. I do think the Warlord options are better for Mazzy, and Platinum Warlord in particular is my preference even if it might seem a little odd. I’d pick Chosen as her ED, for the same reason I like it for Keldorn. Minsc – can’t improve on your effort, particularly with regard to Glorious Spirit as the epic destiny. Nalia – human wizard. Spellstorm Mage and Archmage seem like sensible options, although I might look at Magister in place of Archmage. Sarevok – human fighter. Lots of possible paragon paths, though I might choose Kensai. Adamantine Soldier looks like a good ED. Valygar – human Ranger. Stormwarden is still perhaps the best choice for a 2W ranger, and it doesn’t seem like a bad choice for Valygar. The simplest choice for an epic destiny is Martial Archetype, but there’s an interesting option with Dark Wanderer to reflect his personality, in that the immortality option involves cutting free of outside influence by fate and the gods. Viconia – drow cleric. There may be a suitable PP in Divine Power, but none of the names leap out at me as particularly desirable and the descriptions I’ve seen don’t inspire me either. I’m fairly sure there’ll be nothing suitable soon either, as part of the “philosophy” of 4th Edition is that characters will be heroes, and evil characters are less suitable. This is less significant for some classes, but any Divine characters are likely to lack significant support. Divine Oracle or perhaps Miracle Worker look possible, but the one I like best is a reworked Shiere Knight, or perhaps something like Dark Reckoner which would require multiclassing with Warlock. I do think the Saint will make a suitable epic destiny, particularly since it has a dark variant. Yoshimo – human ranger/rogue. I’m inclined to use Ruthless Punisher. A PP based around hunting down humanoid foes looks ideal for a bounty hunter, and the abilities are usable with bow or sword. I’m slightly tempted by the Adroit Explorer but that’s a lot more about survival. I’m not going to suggest an epic destiny, for reasons that should be apparent. For the main character, I've no particular preferences. I refuse to acknowledge that Abdel Adrian exists, which leaves the choices entirely open. My most recent character was an elven ranger and would convert easily to archery ranger, sylvan archer PP (though twilight guardian is tempting), and probably the Godhunter ED if I dropped demigod for some reason. |
| #42BluenoseJul 18, 2009 13:49:16 | Missing two of my favorites: I've not actually done the characters from BG1 yet. It's on my list of projects, though. Safana would be a Human Rogue, probably a cunning rogue. Dynaheir is more interesting. while Human Wizard seems obvious, I think it might be possible to make a sorceror version, or even something less likely. |

| #47arcas_shanJul 19, 2009 6:07:14 | I’ve been considering some of the characters and checking through threads about Divine Power to glean information on what might be suitable for some of the characters. This isn’t a complete or final list, but here are some suggestions for the Paragon Paths and Epic Destinies for the characters as I see them at the moment. I am looking too for bits and pieces of divine power, unfortunately I don't find much. I'll probably get it next week between the two most difficult exams, so I'll start updating at the weekend. Flame of Hope sounds good. Revered One could be interesting if you want to get different Channel Divinity feats. Unfortunately none of her gods have them. One is an exarch and the other a primordial. Avatar doesn't seem right to me, that would mean that Aerie doesn't have her own soul but becomes one with a god after she dies (and it would make her very similar to the Bhaalspawn). And I don't know if Healer's Lore is a that good idea. It only works with cleric powers.Anomen – human cleric. I'm more a friend of the Fighter/Cleric hybrid with Warpriest. Epic Destiny could be Chosen of Helm (again, I'm against making an NPC an Avatar) or Demigod, since Chosen of Helm doesn't have an official utility power. 100% agreement on Blood Moon Stalker.:D Primal Avatar is fine with me too, as long as Primal Power isn't out (even though he got killed by his son).;) Edwin – human wizard. I almost believe that Haer'Dalis is the one we have the most builds for.:D I agree with the paragon paths (especially Doomguard). Deadly Trickster looks fine, maybe Harbinger of Doom could be funny too. I think he's to unreliable to find multiple gods that want to make him punisher. Demigod is something she gave up at the end of ToB so I would say Archmage or Deadly Trickster seems fine. Keybearer seems to mobile to settle down found a thieves guild. I don't think that you can use Twilight Guardian. Dual Heritage only speaks of feats and in the PHB 2 they mention that half-elf exemplars don't take racial paragon path's but the Versatile Master feat. Chosen of Silvanus would be a good possibility (even though I almost think that we're getting too many chosen, either they were made that after ToB or they had a lot of secrets.;) Jan Jansen – gnome artificer. Fey Beguiler sounds good, for Archspell we would need something really wacky.:D Eternal Seeker could work fine. I would make him a Champion of Order. That guy almost threw his own wife into jail for Torm's sake.:D But Justiciar might be better for more charisma-heavy builds. For him Chosen really fits because it is mentioned that he appears at Torm's right hand (even though "ghostly form" doesn't really scream "exarch";) ). I like the second build more. I'm not sure of Korgan as an Undying Warrior, after all he's missing after a battle with the drow. But there could be a few evil (or even neutral) gods that could consider making him a punisher. Mazzy died of old age, I'm really not sure what to make of her Epic Destiny. For the PP Platinum Warlord (reflavoured for Arvoreen) would work fine. Nalia – human wizard. Spellstorm Mage and Archmage seem like sensible options, although I might look at Magister in place of Archmage. I think Archmage works fine.;) Sarevok – human fighter. Lots of possible paragon paths, though I might choose Kensai. Adamantine Soldier looks like a good ED. I didn't think about Kensai, but it would work well especially if you consider that his girlfriend was from Kara-Tur. Adamantine Soldier too is a cool idea. Like Imoen Valgyar settled down at the end, so I'm not sure if a wanderer destiny works for him. I'm not sure about a paragon path. I hope I'll find something in Divine Power. There are only three things that are really excluded strength-based, light, and other gods of the realms. For an Epic Destiny Revered One could work too. She served two or three gods, maybe she had some kind of revelation.:D Yoshimo – human ranger/rogue. Sounds good. Amen. Who talks about Abdel?:D I picture it this way: Up to the fight with Melissan the Bhaalspawn is either Demigod or Avatar of Death. After that he has the choice. Either he ignites his divine spark and absorbs the essence, jumping over the demigod-status and becoming a lesser deity (Bhaal was an intermediate, but a lot of his power has to be in Cyric). Or he chooses like Imoen to give up his divine spark and live on as a mortal, what automatically deletes all the powers he got from his epic destiny. I thought also about Godhunter as recompensation, another option I found interesting was Punisher of the Gods. Somebody who turns down the opportunity to become a god is pretty much the perfect person to invest power into. My best character in Baldur's Gate was a ranger with the Stalker kit and [url=http://www.gamebanshee.com/baldursgateii/equipment/images/daggerofthestarplus5.jpg]this little treasure in the off-hand. Oh the sneak attacks I could dish out... There's no way to convert that into 4E, especially since you're now better off using two medium-sized weapons instead of an off-hand weapon. Where has the style gone? ![]() Just for information, Edwina do change back to Edwin if you follow his quest ;) Yes, but after ToB the poor guy tries to take on Elminster and becomes Edwina again. :D |
| #48ZireaelJul 20, 2009 4:41:35 | done by Arcas_Shan Great! BIG thanks!!! I just love her. Valygar as Martial Archetype isn't bad. And Keldorn is really bound to his faith. |
| #49sfdragonJul 20, 2009 16:06:55 | you and about half of everyone else, including me. I just loved Jaheira a bit more. |
| #50BeleriphonJul 21, 2009 16:06:04 | Yep, Yoshi seems almost impossible to make. I'm tempted to wait for the upcoming assassin class in Dragon to find out about Yoshimo. From what little we've been told it seems like it might be a good fit. |
| #51BluenoseJul 23, 2009 16:26:17 | I'm tempted to wait for the upcoming assassin class in Dragon to find out about Yoshimo. From what little we've been told it seems like it might be a good fit. I thought about assassin. In the end I went with a slightly unusual Ranger, which is posted up the thread. And... I picked up Divine Power today. On a first look through I picked out a few things for various characters. Aerie. As an alternative to Flame Of Hope there's the Divine Philosopher PP. Conceptually it's an Invoker that's devoted to scholarship. You get a divine at-will from another class as an encounter power, bonuses against monsters if you can make a knowledge check about them, and powers that weaken and make vulnerable enemies that depend on your Intelligence bonus. It all looks rather suitable. For Keldorn, the Virtuous Paladin looks like an interesting alternative. Cha-Wis-Str in that order are the primary stats, and it's a paladin that's really hard to take down with powers granting save bonuses, defence bonuses and some healing. Viconia still lacks a really satisfactory PP. But I think Astral Savant could work, a deep understanding of the gods is believable and the abilities are mostly not ones that would be inappropriate - in fact Cold isn't a bad damage type for a deity of Darkness. Holy Emmisary might work in terms of abilities, but looks wrong in terms of behaviour. Slightly off-topic, I had a thought about Jaheira. A druid/cleric would have access to Warpriest, which I don't think is a bad fit for her combative personality and original classes. Especially since she can't go with Twilight Guardian as I thought (which I think is a pity, because I do think it's a good fit). In the bath tonight I had an idea. I don't know if this works for Anomen, but it's a different approach to him: Show ====== Created Using Wizards of the Coast D&D Character Builder ====== Anomen Delryn, level 10 Human, Paladin Build: Protecting Paladin Background: Society - Noble (+2 to Insight) FINAL ABILITY SCORES Str 20, Con 14, Dex 10, Int 11, Wis 14, Cha 13. Well, he's a holy warrior and in 4e that can mean Paladin quite as much as Cleric, even if the character isn't LG. This way he gets a full set of armour, shield and weapon proficiencies. In terms of his goals, becoming a full member of the ORH and being knighted is perhaps more a goal to appeal to a paladin than to a cleric. While I'm not absolutely convinced by the idea, I thought I'd throw it out and see the reaction. |
| #52aumvorJul 24, 2009 12:30:55 | Why not just make Mazzy a protecting paladin? I never used her as an archer really, felt it was more in-character for her to be in the frontlines with a melee weapon. The only reason why she was a fighter and not a paladin in bg2 was due to mechanics after all:P In the bath tonight I had an idea. I don't know if this works for Anomen, but it's a different approach to him: Bathing makes you think of Anomen?;) |
| #53sfdragonJul 24, 2009 14:36:50 | umm Jaheira's (mmmm Jaheira...... bathing in the forest....) revision thoughts must wait for the primal power book. in 3.x Nature's warrior worked best for her, in 4e, anything in the phb doesnt really set right to me. Mazzy, ranged, never used her as such, front line. many of my halfling characters went front line and lived to take down many orcs. |
| #54BluenoseJul 24, 2009 15:47:23 | Why not just make Mazzy a protecting paladin? I never used her as an archer really, felt it was more in-character for her to be in the frontlines with a melee weapon. The only reason why she was a fighter and not a paladin in bg2 was due to mechanics after all:P I've always found it useful to have an archer along in the early part of BG2. It's not like BG1 where sufficient missile fire can prevent melee in many cases, but one thing I find is that a lot of fights take place in narrow "corridors" where there's not room for a full group in the front line. That makes it useful for other characters to have missile fire to support them. Mazzy is the best archer in the game, and definitely not the bost melee fighter. So when I keep her in the party it's usually for her archery. While I can see the argument that she's temperamentally suited to the front lines, the fact that she has five stars in Shortbow and one in ShortSword suggest she's a specialist in archery anyway. That anyway is why I've made her as a hybrid Ranger-Warlord. Bathing makes you think of Anomen?;) If I never post here again it's because of you've forced me to take an overdose of Brain Bleach. :P |
| #55arcas_shanJul 24, 2009 16:43:48 | I got Divine Power too. I had to cancel it at amazon and order it again from a small store but they delivered instantly.Aerie. I never saw Aerie as someone who actually studies to bring foes down (and to be effective a Divine Philosopher she would need a lot of "knowledge" skills). She studied her kind(s) of magic and healed or killed as needed. I still think that flame of hope is a better fit. For an epic destiny I'm considering saint, but I still have to look how it synergises with invoker. (If it had been possible in AD&D she probably would have taken Exalted Angel. New wings and being immortal and able to stay at the side of the SC when he ascends to godhood? Score.:D ) For Keldorn, the Virtuous Paladin looks like an interesting alternative. Cha-Wis-Str in that order are the primary stats, and it's a paladin that's really hard to take down with powers granting save bonuses, defence bonuses and some healing. Maybe a mix of different builds would work best for Keldorn, for example Ardent Vow could work well for him. The Inquisitor kit didn't have lay on hands. The description of Saint fits him a lot better than Chosen, but the rules don't fit at all, so I guess Chosen is still the way to go. Astral Savant sounds good. And I would even go so far to say that her epic destiny should definitely be Revered One, I guess we won't get anything better. Slightly off-topic, I had a thought about Jaheira. A druid/cleric would have access to Warpriest, which I don't think is a bad fit for her combative personality and original classes. | #60BluenoseJul 31, 2009 14:16:23 | I still like the Warlord Mazzy and the Fighter/Cleric Anomen better.;) Maybe it's just that I have trouble picturing Mazzy singing.:D I'm certainly a fan of my Ranger|Warlord hybrid version of Mazzy, but the Bard version does quite a few of the same things rather well. I did try to avoid powers that involved singing as much as possible, but I wasn't entirely successful. Give me an archer warlord and I'd use it instantly for her, and I don't think it's actually an unresonable concept. One of the nations in my homebrew has a military which relies heavily on mounted archery, and it's pretty hard to make a character with that sort of background. Divine Power should be in the August CB. It's supposed to come out with the updates from the previous month which means all July material would be in August, though that didn't happen with the Psion. I'm wondering, is there any interest in versions of the main adversaries made with the Monster Builder beta? Sarevok as an Elite Soldier (or Brute?), Bodhi a Lurker, Irenicus a Controller. |

It's supposed to come out with the updates from the previous month which means all July material would be in August, though that didn't happen with the Psion. Great, then the upgrading to epic can go on. By the way I have a question: The non-romanced storyline for Viconia ( http://www.gamebanshee.com/baldursgateii/npcs/images/viconiaending.jpg )mentions that in the end she got trouble with Shar and helped Drizzt Do'Urden to stop a Zhentarim plot against Suldanessalar. What would be her next god after Shar? And would Dark Wanderer maybe be a good epic destiny for her? She could have multiclassed into rogue while alone on the surface to acquire some necessary skills, and Dark Wanderer fits the "going and never be seen again" part. I'm wondering, is there any interest in versions of the main adversaries made with the Monster Builder beta? Sarevok as an Elite Soldier (or Brute?), Bodhi a Lurker, Irenicus a Controller. Where possible I would build them as characters and then transform them into elites (funny, if you think about it none of the final bosses of Baldur's Gate was a solo. Not even Amelyssan with access to the essence of Bhaal). Bohdi would be a rogue with the Vampire Lord template, Irenicus an elite wizard and Sarevok... Sarevok.;) What would Amelyssan be? But I'm sure there are also those who would prefer them with the simpler monster rules. |
| #62sfdragonAug 01, 2009 3:24:01 | next god for viconia...... hmmm lets see, I'd have to ask of whom Id have a choice of. if she got in trouble with Shar, how about Selune?? and dare you going to use the 1 step stuff or whatever 4e uses.... which means nuetral or unaligned, which most likely throws out Selune, leaves Tempus, Silvanus, .... depends on how most would view her after that alignment wise |
| #63ZireaelAug 01, 2009 5:28:03 | Viconia would make a great Dark Wanderer. As for new ultimate patron deity. Uh. She's NE. She rejected Shar and Lloth, most expected candidates. She helped Drizzt and Ellesime against the Zhentarim. So it would be... maybe Selvetarm? Or Beshaba? Or... uh, my ideas just ended. |
| #64arcas_shanAug 01, 2009 5:28:46 | In 4E unaligned clerics can serve any god, and I think we can assume that she became at least unaligned when she started opposing evil organisations, I thought about Selûne but wasn't sure if she would be willing to welcome an ex-cleric of Shar (and in the old D&D it would have only worked if Viconia made to steps, evil => neutral and neutral => chaos). I also thought about Eilistraee, but that has the same alignment issues, and I would have to stat her as an Elf.....:embarrass I'm unsure about Tempus and Silvanus because of their domains, Viconia was more into politics than warfare and nature... I guess I have to make a list of all gods that were NG, LN, N and CN.:D |
| #65ZireaelAug 01, 2009 5:34:20 | I think Selune and NG deities are out of the list. Even with unaligned (which suits her, BTW) she's not even close to good. |
| #66arcas_shanAug 01, 2009 5:47:04 | That depends. According to her résumé she opposed the Knights of the Shield and the Zhentarim together with Drizzt Do'Urden, that's far beyond the "I just wanted to be left alone."-Viconia you meet in the beginning. So maybe touring around with a bhaalspawn changed her outlook. The romanced version can actually be made neutral. |
| #67ZireaelAug 01, 2009 6:56:58 | Yeah, neutral. I know it all. So. It still doesn't have NG patron or Selune anywhere. Opposing the Zhents and Knights of the Shield doesn't equal 'being good'. Even 'being neutral'. |
| #68arcas_shanAug 01, 2009 7:12:00 | Yeah, neutral. I know it all. So. It still doesn't have NG patron or Selune anywhere. Opposing the Zhents and Knights of the Shield doesn't equal 'being good'. Even 'being neutral'. That depends on the reasons. Unfortunately we have no idea why Viconia did it, but I don't assume that she felt threatened by what would happen to Calimport or Suldanessalar. |
| #69BluenoseAug 01, 2009 7:26:06 | Viconia could quite plausibly be Unaligned in 4e terms, certainly after the course of Baldurs' Gate. It does seem a little harder to pick a deity for her. I don't think any of the "nature" dieties are suitable, or the more warlike ones. And most of the racial pantheons are also out, certainly including the Drow one and even the Seldarine (although I read a fanfic once where the author turned her into a cleric of Hanali Celanil, fairly plausibly). I think she'd want a deity who was serious rather than a trickster type, and one who is powerful both for protection from Shar and Lolth and because of her attitude to power. There are some who fit this, but I think Kelemvor might be a good choice. He's powerful, serious, not too good for her tastes, not prejudiced against Drow. Othewise, there are a few other choices that I think are reasonably plausible. Hoar, perhaps, as god of revenge. Waukeen, possibly. Perhaps Tymora or Beshaba (Tyche would be a better choice, in many ways). And I agree that Dark Wanderer looks like a good choice. |

The best I can do for a link is this. That's only part of the story, obviously since the first entry is Chapter 33, but there were later parts too which included the chapters where Viconia began worshipping Hanali. I'm not sure I could find the earlier chapters over there, given the way the forums are arranged and that they date back to 2003, but if you want to read them I have them saved to a CD somewhere and if I can find which one could send them to an email address - PM me if so. Sadly it never got finished, as far as I'm aware. Yes, Waukeen was still in the abyss. I played the module where you rescue her, For Duty and Deity. The main reason I suggested her is a memory of something Viconia says when you enter one of the temples of Waukeen, something about it being how a temple should look, altthough that may be from a mod. But I could imagine a Viconia who rejects Shar switching to a powerful, neutral, human goddess such as Waukeen. Hanali was confirmed to be an aspect of Sune. Erevan Ilesere, who I don't need to look up after one memorable character who really annoyed my rather serious human Wizard for a year or two. While I can see him taking Viconia, for the amusement if nothing else, I think she's rather too serious for it to work. |

You can romance her as an elf anyway, just use shadowkeeper to change the Viconiamatch variable to 1. But some conversations will be awkward since the romance presumes that you are a half-orc/half-elf/human. She talks about how she appreciates the drive of [your race] since elves and drow are so lazy due to their long lifespans. Were you playing as an elf and she actually started conversing with you (as in the romance)? Because if the viconiamatch is 0 or nonexistant (as it should be if you're an elf for example) she wont start the romance track at all. |

"You is very dull grey dragon, not nice and shiny red like Deekin!" :D @ Bluenose While I've come to the conclusion that a Bard is the best class to represent Haer'Dalis despite my earlier advocacy of the bravura Warlord, your Tempest also looks pretty good. It's interesting how there seem to be a lot of different ways to convert some characters, and only a few for others. Though that probably comes down to some being pretty obvious - Edwin, for instance - and some being marginal cases for several classes. It reminds me of Venn diagrams from my school maths lessons. ![]() Actually, I think it would be nice to add characters from all the Bioware (and Obsidian, with NWN2?) games. Though that probably comes down to some being pretty obvious - Edwin, for instance - and some being marginal cases for several classes. It reminds me of Venn diagrams from my school maths lessons. I guess it depends on the way you look at a character. I always look at the fighting style first and then at the background. Haer'Dalis always was the guy with the two short swords and offensive/defensive spin. His bard song didn't get better with level increases so that was defining for me. Rangers can be good with two weapons, but tempest fighters are better with short swords. Additionally it made Doomguard an option for him so that was win-win. With Jaheira I made a honest mistake. For me she was always the girl with heavy armor and a mean staff that stood beside my main character and Minsk in the front line and only used magic to patch others up. I completely forgot that she could shapechange at all. O_o I'll have to correct that.:D Actually, I think it would be nice to add characters from all the Bioware (and Obsidian, with NWN2?) games. I guess it depends on the way you look at a character. I always look at the fighting style first and then at the background. Rangers can be good with two weapons, but tempest fighters are better with short swords. Additionally it made Doomguard an option for him so that was win-win. I prefer a Haer'Dalis who isn't as sturdy as a fighter, with a certain amount of show-off in the style, which fits the bard class as I see it. But honestly he's a bit of an odd case in 2e terms, a dual-wielding bard with the blade kit being not exactly mainstream. Jaheira was one of my front line fighters too, though usually with a scimitar and shield and protected by ironskin. But people have used her as an attack caster, with Insect Plague, Call Lightning, and various Summons while she stays in the back and slings stones. It seems odd to me because that's not what I do, but it is possible. | #87arcas_shanAug 07, 2009 15:47:31 | Editing the title didn't work, so I wrote it big in the first post. Again nice paragon versions and a good Keldorn. I tried today to make an epic Imoen and ran into a weaponry problem. I always gave her the Short Bow of Gesen, but rogues can't use bows and wizards can't take them as implements. Converting it to a crossbow solves only half of the problems. The at-will magic missile has made the bow obsolete, but for me it was always part of her style to stand back together with Aerie. And swinging a sword to send out magic missiles is less cool than having a bow that shoots lightning....I'll try to work around that starting Wednesday.:D |

I do think the lack of a shortbow armed Rogue is beginning to feel annoying. It is one of the things I'd like to see in future books. Though there are some nice bow options for the Bard now. Well, the many trained skills come from the combination rogue/human and because ritual casting now depends on skills. I hope we get a bow feat for rogues in Martial Power 2, and I hope it's more like Street Thug than Longsword Finesse. ![]() Here's a couple of Jaheira options, one a Warden and the other a Druid, plus a paragon version of the Paladin Anomen I posted before - though I'm not really happy with him as a Paladin. I like the warden/druid even though I would have tried to make it a hybrid. And why did you choose Focused Expertise Scimitar instead of Weapon Expertise (Light Blades)? I've also been trying to do something with Viconia. The basic cleric aspects are fine, but I'm still a little worried about a Paragon Path. Drow Wanderer wants a melee combatant, which doesn't quite work. I've played around a little with dark pact warlock multiclassing, but the results are ideal. The PP I like best is the Shiere Knight one available to Eladrin, with a few flavour changes, but it isn't available by default. how about truthseeker pp for Viconia Shiere Knight builds in my eyes to much on the Eladrin ability tot teleport. And that she can't be a melee combatant is a bit of a shame... I just finished BG2 and ToB again and used her mainly in close combat with a Belt of Stone Giant Strength and the Flail of the Ages, right after she casted Flame Strike or Storm of Vengeance.... Maybe I should think about a variant as Avenger|Cleric..... ![]() The idea with the Truthseeker is interesting, it would definitely be useful in Drow society, only for completely other reasons than stated in the description.:D Edit: Here's a hybrid version of Viconia. I'm working on an alternative Imoen, starting as a rogue and then paragon multiclassing into a sorcerer. She doesn't use a bow which is a shame, but there are advantages over rogue/wizard because both classes can take advantage of daggers. There's also part of me which thinks it should be hard to become a wizard because the training involved seems to take years for normal wizards, but that awakening your sorcery could be a lot quicker and less academically demanding. Although the same could be said for Warlocks, and I suppose it isn't impossible to do Imoen as a Rogue/Warlock. If my internet connection is stable this evening it should appear then. And the next project is the NWN1 companion characters. I want to do BG1 as well, but there's a lot of them so it will take longer and require more thought and more fiddling around with the character builder. |
| #97BluenoseSep 04, 2009 15:09:49 | And here's Imoen the Rogue/Sorceress. ====== Created Using Wizards of the Coast D&D Character Builder ====== FINAL ABILITY SCORES STARTING ABILITY SCORES
TRAINED SKILLS UNTRAINED SKILLS FEATS POWERS ITEMS Daggers a great. You don't know with this Imoen whether she's going to throw it at you, stab you with it, or make a bolt of lightning shoot out of it. If you want to keep her out of leather armour my suggestion would be Dawn Warrior Cloth +4. An archer version could be made with a Ranger as the starting point, picking up Stealth as a class skill and Thievery from one of the several backgrounds that make it a class skill. Going even further into the unusual, a Rogue or Ranger multi-classed into Warlock would be possible. And I have thought about an option presented in a BG2 mod that makes Imoen into a Bard, which doesn't work at all badly. |
| #98ZireaelSep 05, 2009 3:38:22 | Rogue/Warlock simply blew me off. I don't see her as a bard at all. Nope. And I didn't play that mod. |
