I was dissapointed the article wasn't longer (these articles read too fast after you wait for them all month). Regardless, the article got me to thinking about what else the Talking Door might say (or have said that nobody heard) and how things might change at the Inn of the Dripping Dagger over time as the door continues to speak and everyone around it are inevitably drawn in to listen. As well, how I'd set the scene for my players if they were to ever walk in to the Inn of the Dripping Dagger. This is my follow up to those thoughts. As a result the place has become quite crowded. There is much jostling for space near the door and, of late, an insistence by all that talk be kept low, particularly after one would-be listener angrily tried shouting down the door as it was speaking while he was being bodily hauled away by another inn guest hoping to hear better for himself. One might confuse the first floor of the inn for a room full of busy sages, as several patrons, all speaking in hushed voices, discuss rumors, hatch plans and wait in anticipation for the next mysterious utterance from the Talking Door. Already one long-time guest of the Inn, the adventurer and sometimes investigator for hire Belvaun Hammergrim, has found a measure of fame and riches by deducing the whereabouts of the missing patriarch of the Gralhund family (the later having been impaled on a trapped chandelier in an abandoned mansion nigh Spindle Street in the Trades Ward) from one particular utterance of the talking door. Because many watch and wait, the Talking Door has been found to not speak on any regular schedule. It has not as of yet repeated itself nor, it is believed, spoken about the same subject twice, though all agree it speaks more often then ever before. Its latest utterances are as follows:
